In DS1 you had to kill one golem in late game location and pick up some item it dropped (think tiara, ring etc) then go to one of early locations kill a boss which would make an npc to appear, the npc would thank you, disappear and then giant hand pulled you through portal (IIRC). In DS2 there were portals after every last boss of story branch. In DS3 there would appear an npc in one of the earlier locations which would show you bit/scrap of painting by which you would get sucked into painted world where dlc takes place, for other dlc you would have to go where you fought the last boss and take a turn before arena leading to a bit of a hike, boss and transport to main location of the dlc Sorry bout the essay, i just wanted to answer since noone in one month did :)

@@SirK_VII Well i think it's pretty rewarding the mohgwyn palace has the best rune farm spot just beside the site of grace you can kill the passive ennemies and get a lot of runes and mohg is also one of the best bosses in the game but there's nothing much to do here.

Step three: Defeat melenia, bare handed, no armour, no talismans, no flasks. Step four: do another, very specific questline that is in an incredibly random and inconspicuous area. Step five: now, you need to find and kill one specific enemy in the most obscure, pointless and random place, but has no indication to if its the right enemy (theyll blend in well), who when defeated will spawn godrick (but now names goodrick), Mohg and margit (but now called moregot) at the same time. But this only happens during a specific, very small timeframe ingame, and only when you are wearing a completely random set of armour (that is different each playthrough), while holding the grafted dragon weapon in your off-hand and a max level rivers of blood in your main hand, during an invasion with one other co-op player and one hunter present. Step six: go back to miquella and with the item you just got, do a lil dance and boom, youre in the dlc.
Literally they haven’t done something like that since DS2. In DS3 you touch a piece of a panting that transports you to Ariandel (which an NPC is holding in the literally the third area) and the other was a bonfire either at the end of the first DLC or the end of the game
Elden Ring took a little over 4.5 year to develop and the DLC has been in development for nearly 1.5 years and still no trailer so yeah. IMO the expansion will contain at least 2 big areas and legacy dungeons and maybe even a new underground section too. But if they push the release to 2024 it may end up being even larger. Elden Ring 1.5 baby.

No ultra realistic graphics, no expensive A-list actors or hundreds of cutscenes and their games don't have those massive numbers of NPCs either that you see in the likes of Assassin's Creed or Cyberpunk. And I guess you also know how hardworking the Japanese are. It also helps that they have more money than ever after 20 million+ sales just from ER and they have AC6 coming before the DLC. Their DLCs always had some the best content especially regarding bosses and I guess that's partially because they have much less time and money constraints after the main game has already done well. Artorias, Kalameet, Fume Knight, Sir Alonne, Lady Maria, Ludwig, Friede, Midir and Gael are absolute top tier bosses... I'm not ready for Shadow of the Erdtree bosses.
