I miss work. I never thought I would say that, but I do. I love my job, I'm lucky to work with a lot of friends and I miss the challenge. Because I work in a theatre, I'm also massively missing the shows!
I became vegetarian when I was 11 and honestly it's very likely that that choice affected my growing (aka I stopped), and I think with young children they need all the proteins etc that come from good meat to ensure they grow as healthily as possible. I stopped being vegetarian (though I still don't eat fish or seafood for environmental reasons) but am focused more on the quality of what I eat now. I can't say if it's helped my health (I have a chronic illness), but I do feel more balanced now.

I went semi vegan last year, I still eat cheese occasionally, I don’t get on with vegan cheese it’s just not great , i also very occasionally on holiday eat salmon or shrimp ( makes me a terrible vegan but 1 day I hope to be fully vegan ) 😬

Try recipes by the Minimalist Baker. She nails vegan or vegetarian versions of traditional recipes. Like she has an American General Tso’s Chicken recipe but that’s made with tofu and it taste like takeout. Even if you’ve never had General Tso’s, it just tastes like really great Chinese takeout. Or take away as you guys would say 🙂

You guys are such a perfect couple and parents and I love you guys and your absolutely adorable family so much! I grew up basically vegetarian (with the very occasional fish but I’ve never once tried bacon or chicken or anything like that) and I see what you mean about having options but I always found that there was a vegetarian option wherever I went. It does limit it a bit, though, and there have been times where I sometimes wanted to try it but I never did, just because it’s not something I grew up with (my whole family including extended is the same). Thanks for continuing to put out interesting and informative content during this time, Fleur!

I agree with Mike. I’m a teacher in the UK and not having my routine and seeing my class everyday is horrible. They are like my own children and I miss them greatly.
My brother has been living in Boston for the last 5 years or so. It has a surprisingly European vibe. I don't have much American places to compare it to, but I really like it there. There's lots to see and do, both cultural and touristy. I can't wait to go back when travel is allowed again!

It is really wise not to make your child vegan. You would be very unhappy in the long distance run...it influences health of your child. I see those problems with a couple of our teenage patients. Let her eat fish and shrimps she likes and if she can tolerate it then at least diary too. 😁

I completely relate to Mike. I broke my ankle hiking almost 2 years ago and lifting weights became my form of “control.” As soon as I started physical therapy, I was also hitting the gym. I ended up finishing my PT early because of the amount of work I was putting in to healing. Losing control of your health is a really scary thing.
I applaud you both for going vegan. I gave up red meat at 17. After basically fish and chicken. 9 years ago, I went totally vegan. I'm 61 now. My oldest daughter at the age of 5, announced that she would never eat anything with a face. She went vegetarian. She has now been vegan for 10 years, and has her own vegan restaurant. Everything is organic, and she makes her own cheeses. Feel free to give her a look on IG. @missrachelspantry You guys still can have amazing chocolate. From your last question/answer. I work in a nursery, and have worked in primary schools, and having vegetarian and vegan children is a norm now! With all the different allergies and personal/religious dietary requirements there are schools and nurseries are able to cater to them all! So if River does choose to be vegetarian or vegan, don't ever worry that she will be one of the only children with a 'special meal'! I chose to be vegetarian from 6 years old, it was a lot harder when I was a child than today 😊
Totally agree with your standpoint on River eating but you could also argue that feeding a child meat without them knowing what it is and where it comes from is the same thing.. once they know what meat is they could choose if they’re happy with that? Just devil’s advocate
Totally agree with you. A lot of people just don't realize it because eating meat is the standard in our society. You could also let her eat meat when she's old enough to decide if she wants to eat it. But that's just seen from my point of view where I don't eat meat because of animal rights, I understand that not everybody thinks that way :)
Fleur, I absoulutely love watching your videos when you're filming alone but when you film with Mike (Xmas gift guides etc) it is very difficult to watch because you're constantly talking over him and we don't get to hear how Mike feels about stuff without you interrupting or suggesting other things to try to get Mike to change his answers! I stopped watching halfway through the video at the vegan question because the question was about Mike, but you kept on interrupting him and started talking about yourself

We are in Boston! I’d really recommend coming earlier in Oct as it gets chilly quick here, if you come this year, but next year would be better. A lot of things have been rescheduled and we’ve been locked down since March, so this year might be a little off. If you come, you should do Vermont, New Hampshire (Franconia Notch), and Maine as well. The fall here is beautiful and any time of year when you can walk outside is great. You can checkout the Boston calendar to see all the stuff going on in the city every week (when things start again). Cambridge is just across the Charles and also has a ton to do. I hope you’ll ask on insta when you are getting ready to plan and all of us Bostonians will definitely give recommendations! I’m glad Mike’s hip is doing better and hope we will see him at the marathon in 2022!

It seems funny to me that you want to visit LA..... I live in America and there are so many places to visit with so many wonderful things to do, and I always hear everyone from the UK wants to visit New York or LA. New York for one is filthy, LA is filthy. Look into great places to visit in America before making a decision. I think 2 of the best places are South and North Carolina. Florida is beautiful at certain times of the year (not July or august...too humid) Ohio has some wonderful things. Utah, Oregon, Alaska, Louisiana.....All wonderful, beautiful places.
Hi guys!! I’m vegan too and totally agree that nothing comes close to Cadbury’s dairy milk 😭 They need to come out with a vegan bar!! It’s mainly the texture of vegan chocolate that’s disappointing, it’s like cheap advent calendar chocolate. Not sure which vegan options you’ve tried but the Raw Halo Mylk & Vanilla has a good texture but tastes slightly ‘healthy’ because it’s got coconut milk in it - Vego is another popular one and tastes like Nutella but is very sweet!! Also Galaxy have a couple of vegan chocolate bars that are apparently great but I am yet to try 🙂👍🏻 Take care xxx
My 4 kiddos are vegan, and they're an inspiration to their non-veg friends. They've been curious about trying a few non-vegan things here and there, a bite of egg or fish, and they're allowed non-vegan cookies or birthday cake if they want to have them at social events, so they don't feel "left out," but generally speaking, the food kids grow up eating is the food they love.

Fleur, I absoulutely love watching your videos when you're filming alone but when you film with Mike (Xmas gift guides etc) it is very difficult to watch because you're constantly talking over him and we don't get to hear how Mike feels about stuff without you interrupting or suggesting other things to try to get Mike to change his answers! I stopped watching halfway through the video at the vegan question because the question was about Mike, but you kept on interrupting him and started talking about yourself
I loved this Q and A....you and Mike are a scream together and are very funny........I find you have both matured since Rivers birth, not in an old fuddy duddy way , just grown up and you are right Fleur you are not nearly as driven as you were....you just seem calmer within yourself.........stay well and safe...........Donna in Toronto

Ha! Loved this. You and Mike just bounce off each other so well. Mike is such a marshmallow when it comes to you and Riv Fleur. He tries to act so tough but he’s a big softie. River is just gorgeous, such a little ray of sunshine ☀️. The star of the video was Squidge! Loved her, she gives zero shits about anything and is in everyone’s personal space! I love seeing River with Piggy also 💛💗💛💗. Love these kind of vlogs x
We are in Boston! I’d really recommend coming earlier in Oct as it gets chilly quick here, if you come this year, but next year would be better. A lot of things have been rescheduled and we’ve been locked down since March, so this year might be a little off. If you come, you should do Vermont, New Hampshire (Franconia Notch), and Maine as well. The fall here is beautiful and any time of year when you can walk outside is great. You can checkout the Boston calendar to see all the stuff going on in the city every week (when things start again). Cambridge is just across the Charles and also has a ton to do. I hope you’ll ask on insta when you are getting ready to plan and all of us Bostonians will definitely give recommendations! I’m glad Mike’s hip is doing better and hope we will see him at the marathon in 2022!
I think watching Fleur caused me to end up with a Springer Spaniel. I named him Maverick like Top Gun.

It seems funny to me that you want to visit LA..... I live in America and there are so many places to visit with so many wonderful things to do, and I always hear everyone from the UK wants to visit New York or LA. New York for one is filthy, LA is filthy. Look into great places to visit in America before making a decision. I think 2 of the best places are South and North Carolina. Florida is beautiful at certain times of the year (not July or august...too humid) Ohio has some wonderful things. Utah, Oregon, Alaska, Louisiana.....All wonderful, beautiful places.

Hi guys!! I’m vegan too and totally agree that nothing comes close to Cadbury’s dairy milk 😭 They need to come out with a vegan bar!! It’s mainly the texture of vegan chocolate that’s disappointing, it’s like cheap advent calendar chocolate. Not sure which vegan options you’ve tried but the Raw Halo Mylk & Vanilla has a good texture but tastes slightly ‘healthy’ because it’s got coconut milk in it - Vego is another popular one and tastes like Nutella but is very sweet!! Also Galaxy have a couple of vegan chocolate bars that are apparently great but I am yet to try 🙂👍🏻 Take care xxx
My 4 kiddos are vegan, and they're an inspiration to their non-veg friends. They've been curious about trying a few non-vegan things here and there, a bite of egg or fish, and they're allowed non-vegan cookies or birthday cake if they want to have them at social events, so they don't feel "left out," but generally speaking, the food kids grow up eating is the food they love.
Boston is an amazing city! A lot of healthy food, nice places, mix of the 'new and old'

I find teaching remotely (over chat and videoconference) really hard to balance with two young kids at home and I miss actual teaching in a classroom.
