I can't tell, by laying them down will u get roots at various nodes? how cut the video off before we could tell. u did only dip the bottom in rot hormone but why lay down instead of vertical? Do u end up potting straight up or do u cut up cuz roots pop up on all sides hitting sand?
Hey there, I’m in zone 6b any other vigorous varieties you would recommend to grow this style of heavy pruning that’s still able to produce a solid crop?
Go with these for zone 5. A couple of them give multiple harvests a year and grow very fast. Use stray to overwinter them and remove after last frost. In weeks you'll have a tree 3 foot tall and grow up to 10ft. Hardy Chicago Violette de Bordeaux Brown Turkey Florea
And thats how its done ✔️
Awesome. Figs are easy to propagate. I tried persimmons without success.
Yeah, many fruit trees need to be grafted for highest success rates.
i wish we had more hardy figs that tolerate zone 4 weather.
What happens when mulch gets wet? Wouldn't that speed the rotting process or the colonization of fungus?

We do it in the winter and use a heat mat to keep it at 70 degrees

Hi, can we use soil or cocopeat instead of river sand? I don't have access to river sand
If you can fine play sand that is ideal. It’s worth a try with other mediums too

I got mold using this method not sure why still trying to grow cuttings tho
Mold can develop if the cuttings aren’t cleaned properly. Use water, dish soap, and a fresh sponge to wash them thoroughly.
