Andor Season is why i am all in support of this being a series rather than a movie. this has so much depth that could not have been done in a movie format
Holden can you and Jen watch Jurassic world dominion cause I know you almost finished all the movies but I just want you guys to finish the Jurassic franchise. have a wonderful day ❤
Oh this too because why shouldnt Skeen kill him after he brought the money to his hiding place? But also Andor is a man of his word. He only took what he was promised (the 200k) and gave back the Kyber crystal that was worth 50k and also bought the ship from the doctor for more than it was worth even though he couldve just stolen it. He is a criminal who kills frequently but he also has a lot of honor and Skeen trying to steal the money was definitely against his morals
I think it's both. Andor is a calculated dude and knew that you could not trust Skeen after what he said and he needed to go, but he's also emotionally fueled by the sheer fact he would lie about losing a sibling. This is something Andor has experienced, so the idea that someone would lie about something so personal to Andor probably disgusted him immensely.
@@BossAttack yup. This guy already infiltrated one group with the intention of backstabbing. He would have done it again. Gotta get rid of rats like that.
After watching the mandalorian and then going back to this, the freaking quality of everything from the visuals, the story, the characters, the dialogue, everything is just a cut above with Andor.

Yep. This show is a master class in setup and payoff. I don't know who let them diverge from the adventure-action formula and pace of most Star Wars screen entertainment but I thank that person a thousand times over for letting Team Gilroy do their thing.
Yeah this episode is phenomenal. There's so many moments that I want to say are my favorite. But PROBABLY my favorite is how the episode closes. We see the struggle, the sacrifice that the rebels had to go through to complete this mission. How they BARELY managed to get it done, basically down to just one person from the original team. And we cut to Luthen. And to him, this is just...a win. A HUGE win. His glee at getting the news is such a unique moment to me in Star Wars. It's such a nuanced way to close the episode.
The contrast of Luthen’s relief to the starkness of the people who survived is excellent. And the way it frames the scale of the conflict of the show; that it’s a solid victory for the rebels on a large scale but on a personal level they’ve lost some true believers

It isn't a full spoiler, but the moment in episode 3 is just a slight hint. A few episodes later the father is mentioned again and that scene is designed to drive the emotion behind "Clem" home. It's not that people shouldn't figure it out before that scene, but it removes some of that impact so I'd value not telling people they missed a small detail
Yeah, I was so surprised by the first arc, but then this one came out and absolutely stunned me. Especially with the week long wait between episodes making you stew in anticipation the whole time.
I love that they left it ambiguous. "To define is to destroy. To suggest is to create." We all think what we want to think, and it generally makes a character more intriguing to the viewer. It's the original Boba Fett Effect, IMO. To us old-timers, he was cool both because of what was implied and because of what was left as a blank slate for our imagination to invent cool badassery. ...damn you for taking that from me, Robert Rodriguez. Damn you to Hell.
It explains why the ISB is playing guessing games about Cassian Andor being in the heist: they based their assessment on him being clean shaven and inexplicably having credits. They should have been able to ID him.
I never get tired of that escape scene. Also, Cinta is crying* when she comes out of the base. People have speculated that she killed the hostages in order to preserve their identities. Edit: *possibly teary-eyed is more accurate.
It's really ambiguous at this point. You don't know if it's because of that or because she's separated from everyone else, especially Vel. But the other episodes she is in really clears it up in my mind.
This is why I loved all the build-up with Andor, when characters die or get hurt you actually feel it. Whereas some other SW shows that immediately introduce characters and then put them in action or kill them with very little emotional response. I'll remember Nemik for a long while despite being such a "minor" character.
I love the Aldahni arc. It's just laid out so perfectly with the 2 episode build up. I also love how the deaths of the character were just happening so suddenly and that no one gets a last stand sacrifice kinda thing. Nemick getting crushed was painful. Andor taking Skeen out was awesome. He just didn't like the mirror reflection that he saw. The mission was a success. It just cost a lot to get it done. Like any war. Now Luthen has his money and doesn't really need to rely on Mon Mothma. And yes, I thought that was Bryan Cranston as well. Great reaction and seeing that you guys are getting it.
Interesting you didn't notice this is the first time in Star Wars we see how pilots board and power up tie fighters. One other thing: you are absolutely right that this was a change in Cassian in that perhaps another time he would have been willing to steal the money. Clearly young Nemik has affected him. However, he also isn't ready to join in the rebel cause. He acted as an "honorable thief" living up to his end of the bargain. The character arch of Andor continues.
@@Quotenwagnerianer Eh, that's a semantic argument. Special effects include both practical and digital effects, and they have always been under that umbrella, etymologically-speaking. This one one of my favorite episodes The Eye was just gorgeous! And the music when they were flying through The Eye and the Tie fighters were chasing them was amazing!
This was the episode I was certainly hooked and the next 4 episodes certainly amplified that for me and by the end I was in tears. Every time I watch andor I get genuine shivers, not to say it didn't at the time (particularly episode 10) I can't wait for the rest!
So before meeting Holden, Jen hadn't watched; Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter, Terminator, Predator, Alien, Back to the future, LOTR, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Avatar, Transformers, Stranger Things, Jaws, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, The Boys, Jurassic Park, John Wick, The Matrix. How Jen, How?
I don’t think it’s that hard if you just don’t watch movies- there’s a lot of people I know that don’t treat movies as a social activity and go out drinking/hiking/climbing instead She has had some TV shows she’s watched so when she did watch something it was probably just TV like Lost
Because she was to busy watching The Notebook, Ghost, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Clueless, Coyote Ugly, Never Been Kissed, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Twilight Saga, Pitch Perfect, The Princess Diaries, Grease, Bridget Jones Diary, Bring it On, Bridesmaids, Mama Mia!, Legally Blonde, She's All That, Etc... That's how.
Been waiting for this! Episode 6 is my favourite from the series, the eye, the beautiful camera shots and the insane air action. Got me 100% hooked for the rest of the series and the rest sure did not disappoint. Im not a star wars fanatic, but from all the series/movies i've watched, Andor takes the crown imo.
This is a phenomenal episode in an amazing show , after watching it I did wonder if they had shot their bolt and had the best episode halfway through the season but the next 6 episodes are just as good but in a different way . I loved the build up of tension and suspense the way the heist is proceeding and you cant help think its going to smoothly somethings got to go wrong and it surely does RIP Nemic . The photography and camerawork is amazing the great shot of the Tie pilots scrambling to get in their ships with the eye erupting behind them looks so so good , the music is fantastic too love the score by Nicholas Britell . Cinta shooting Colonel Petigar who was holding Nemic at gunpoint was great too , Damn Cinta is lethal . I really think it is a testament to the great writing that you really care so much about characters that you only met a few episodes ago when they start dying . Loved Lieutenant Gorns comeback when Jayhold says " Youll hang for this " " 7 years serving you , I deserve far worse " that one line shows you how much self loathing Gorn has about being part of the Empire . All in all a great episode congratulations to everyone involved in Andor . By the way the landscape scenes were all filmed in Scotland .
I so can’t wait for you to get through the rest of the series. I can’t imagine how tempting it is going to be to binge it as you get into the later arcs. So happy for you to experience it for the first time
I love that you both loved it. Episodes 3 and 6 both had great payoffs to their mini arcs. But don’t worry, it keeps getting better. 8-9-10 make a great arc, and 10 challenges 6 easily for best of the season. 11 and 12 are great also.
So, the imperial guy with the mustache who asked what everyone was doing while the heist was going on...? He was on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD in season two and three, and similarly to Andor, SHIELD broke their show down into little arcs throughout the seasons, perfecting the practice in season 3 and 4, IMO. When you get a chance, and if you enjoy shows like X-Files, Fringe and Supernatural, I think you two would really LOVE Marvel's Agents of SHIELD!
Skeen really gave Andor one choice. He knew Skeen would have killed him if Andor said no as it would have exposed him. If Andor said yes then Skeen would have likely killed him once they got away.
This show is pretty much like that slingshot ride. Those 1st 2 eps of the arc is them pulling the seat back and you're just waiting for the operator to eject you.
I love the detail that the other troops in the base piece together something is wrong and take some initiative to go find out what is happening in the vault. Showing the Empire as incredibly arrogant, but still competent at what they do, makes the victory over them so much more satisfying. Star Wars sometimes portrays the antagonists as so idiotic in their actions that it cheapens our heroes' accomplishments. This, however, feels like a well-earned win for the characters.
You don´t show it, but right after the last TIE fighter gehts destroyed by the meteroids it is shown that Cinta is leaving the Imperial station in full Imperial Outfit, and it seems that she is crying (tears in her eyes). Theorie: She killed the imperial hostages, and regrets that she had to do that.
One of the things this series does really well is making the Empire threatening and scary again. The next episode (Episode 7) is more or less a stand-alone (but still progresses the story), then another three-episode arc followed by the climax of the two-part season finale. It builds and gets only better from here!
This is a great episode in a GREAT show. The main thing that makes all of this show good, is that they give you time to breathe and they set up the story well. Even though the first 6 episodes are clearly 3 episode arcs, they all fold into the entire season. By the end it ALL makes sense. But their world building, and letting you get to KNOW the characters in this episode that ended up dying anyway, is what draws that tension to a head. You understand Cinta and her perspective. The Lieutenant is trying to return the atrocities of the Empire on the people of Aldani. The burgeoning team leader. The young idealistic/philosophical rebel. Even Skeen. You get time to know them, and so the payoff is so much more. This show does everything that Mandalorian Season 3 fails to do.
That TIE launch scene with the claxon going off.... put that straight in my veins! It is such an awesome scene to someone who spent way too many hours playing TIE Fighter.
Your reaction the kid getting crushed was the same as me. LOL The storm was so beautiful! I really wasn't sure what to expect in the build up to it, but wow, did it look good! Crazy that it was really only Cassian and the two woman that made it out of the mission. Looking forward to the rest of the season with you guys!
Cassian made a point last episode that military march with their barrels facing outwards from center rank, yet here all 4 of them are pointing their barrels at the man next to them xD
Clem being his Dad wasn't a spoiler. Other reaction channels pointed it out during episode 4 or 5. It was kind of a between the lines thing that only keen observers picked up on. I missed it on my first watch.
This is really a telling of how the rebellion starts and how the Empire cracks down. Star Wars in general has always been clean cut with known good guys and bad guys and the good guys always win. Andor pulls that back some and grows up those stories. Rebellions are dirty. Good and bad are not clear and sometimes to win you have to be ok with the loses you take. Like I always say this is not what Lucas wanted to do with Star Wars but this was the behind the Skywalker story I always wanted. How did the rest of the galaxy deal with the Empire and how does the rebellion start.
I'm glad you love the show! So I have two cool things I thought I'd share, that are not spoilers; The way the show reveals how much a credit is worth: Cassians bribe of a few hundred, his tech selling for a few thousand, the pendant for a few tens of thousands and then the heist for millions. Two: once you've finished the show (not before!) look up the theme music again, and specifically the _theme_ music of the _entire_ show. I'll leave it at that.
These mini arcs are great. You don't have to wait too long for a payoff, but you get a good amount of setting the scene and allowing the tension to build.
This season of Andor runs concurrently with the animated Star Wars:Rebels, and it makes some significant references to it. Mon talking about the "Gormans" is such a reference. Skeen would have shot Andor the moment Andor said, "No." Andor knew that...he wasn't the kind of person Skeen thought he was (Andor had had good home training), but he knew what kind of person Skeen was.
I must have an internal clock for your upload schedule😅 P.S. This was filmed in Scotland. Edit: When you said that guy looked like Walter White, I was thinking *"I am the one who Walks!"* 😅
I loved this episode. The story building continues but it was after this episode I really felt like the show started firing on all cylinders each week.
Reminder, ep7 is kinda solo (I view it like part of 11&12) and then 8-10 starts the next full arc. Also, there some significant intercom and off screen voice moments in the next episode and the following arc at times. It’s not just random, it’s important.
I have this feeling Mrs. Hardman is going to be ready to start her own rebellion by the end of this... Samezies over here. Also interesting that you noticed the lowest ranking soldiers can and do hit their targets - actual risk involved in what they take you through with these characters
The method to control the aldani sounds like what is done in reality here in the U.S. Everyone is distracted by look over here they are getting something you aren't, and then are pitted against each other, when if all of us were together we'd actually get what we actually need.
Yeah awesome episode.... lots of action. Lots of "oh is this gonna happen.... nope, it didn't, ok let's see the consequence of that...." Or "Can't believe this and that happened...." Seeing reactions of characters and seeing consequences play out was super interesting.... The guy that Andor shot plays a character in Punisher series where he plays a VERY different character. He's pretty good in both of those series'. There's still heaps and heaps of cool interesting stuff to come, and some surprising faces will make an appearence. Can't wait for you guys to see those episodes.... awesome stuff. :)
So a lot of people say that this series is done in arcs of three, but I think it was slightly more clever than that, in that the next three episodes are not an arc of three, and instead the next six episodes are an arc in themselves. So the series is a trilogy of arcs. 3, 3, and then 6 for three total arcs. Sitting perfectly with the origin of Star Wars trilogies.
Not a spoiler - it was obvious - if you checked the credits and paid attention and didn't talk over important dialogue. :) For instance do you know the name of the doctor in this episode? - it's Doctor Quadpaw - it's right there in the credits.
This is my favorite episode, but it only barely edges out a couple others. I'm a bit of a sucker for the visual spectacle that the Eye brought to the series.

That's how.
@@obibyn I don’t think she’s seen Twilight (which I would so enjoy them watching together, that series is just a mess lmao)
“Best episode of Star Wars media, even better than Mandalorian.” Well well well, didn’t expect that.
I agree

This was when Skeen realize he was going to betray them.
Season 4 of AoS was a masterpiece thanks to it being divided into "pods" or arcs
Fun fact the blond Imperial lady is played by the voice actor for yennefer in The Witcher games
Skeen really gave Andor one choice. He knew Skeen would have killed him if Andor said no as it would have exposed him. If Andor said yes then Skeen would have likely killed him once they got away.
Jen is looking more and more radiant in each video. Looking forward to meeting the new member of the family.
Let's go!!! I dunno why I'm excited for you two... haven't even watched your reaction yet lmao 😂😂
Idk if you have noticed yet, but every episode they add an instrument to the opening score! Cause it's building up!
Andor is simply the best Star Wars out right now. (Like, it's a good show, not just a good Star Wars show)...
Knowing Clem is his father's name is not a spoiler, that was already revealed. 😂
These episodes are as good as they are because of the build up. Fantastic series
Yess Jen, the actors in this show are so freaking good.
"Andor is not in a good place right now" - you'll be saying that again I bet
One of the things this series does really well is making the Empire threatening and scary again.
The next episode (Episode 7) is more or less a stand-alone (but still progresses the story), then another three-episode arc followed by the climax of the two-part season finale. It builds and gets only better from here!
This is the episode where the series becomes really great and then only gets better.
This was the episode that made me feel glad I'd given the series a chance. 👍
Aldhani exterior scenes were filmed at Glen Tilt Park, Perthshire, Scotland. 😍😍
That TIE launch scene with the claxon going off.... put that straight in my veins! It is such an awesome scene to someone who spent way too many hours playing TIE Fighter.
This episode really had me feeling like Luthen at the end
15:58 Jen just being “sucks to suck” to the guy dying and living the body 😂 I didn’t expect to laugh at that
Your reaction the kid getting crushed was the same as me.
Nemik was litterally crushed by the Empire and their money that they built off of oppression
Skeen was really a 🕷️ that’s why he picked that fight with Andor in the previous episode. He misjudged Andor.
I've been waiting for this episode!!!! It only goes up from here!
Love your reactions to this and just in general 👌🏽
Just wait for the next arc. Especially episode 10. Best episode in all of Star Wars
How did the rest of the galaxy deal with the Empire and how does the rebellion start.
ok, so from now on it goes from really good to absolutely incredible
I'm glad you love the show! So I have two cool things I thought I'd share, that are not spoilers;
The way the show reveals how much a credit is worth: Cassians bribe of a few hundred, his tech selling for a few thousand, the pendant for a few tens of thousands and then the heist for millions.
Oh this guy looks like this other guy, oh that actor was in this other thing, REALLY interesting and insightful stuff there! Wow!
The way they constructed this season feels like they essentially made 3 separate Andor movies. Now the first is over & the 2nd one is beginning.
This was filmed at a hydroelectric power station in Scotland - it looks just as amazing as this in real life
This season of Andor runs concurrently with the animated Star Wars:Rebels, and it makes some significant references to it. Mon talking about the "Gormans" is such a reference.
Skeen would have shot Andor the moment Andor said, "No." Andor knew that...he wasn't the kind of person Skeen thought he was (Andor had had good home training), but he knew what kind of person Skeen was.
Crazy thing is that if Andor brought Skeen to Val and told her Skeen's plan, she probably would have killed them both to be safe.
I must have an internal clock for your upload schedule😅
P.S. This was filmed in Scotland.
Edit: When you said that guy looked like Walter White, I was thinking *"I am the one who Walks!"* 😅
Cruachan Dam in Scotland seen it years ago but really great seeing it in Starwars
The entire point of Andor is the little guy matters . Listen to the precredit music it increases with every episode !!!
I think Holden is gonna be sad and happy when the dogs pass away he both loves and hates them it's hilarious to me
He's gonna use it as an opportunity to tell his wife the animal he wants next😂
Top tier visuals in the sky to ever come out of Disney Star Wars!!!
Never seen a TV show build tension like Andor has, gets to the point you start bouncing your leg up and down in anticipation.
The kid was using the money as protection, ironic that his protection ended up killing him..
FINALLY, BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE FOR DAYS
This episode is SO GOOOOOD!!!!!
The method to control the aldani sounds like what is done in reality here in the U.S. Everyone is distracted by look over here they are getting something you aren't, and then are pitted against each other, when if all of us were together we'd actually get what we actually need.
Yeah awesome episode.... lots of action. Lots of "oh is this gonna happen.... nope, it didn't, ok let's see the consequence of that...."
Or "Can't believe this and that happened...."
Seeing reactions of characters and seeing consequences play out was super interesting....
This is action packed and the stakes are high because you have got to known both the rebels and a bit of the imperials.
The new Transformers: Rise of the Beasts trailer has just dropped this morning. BEYOND HYPED.
Not a spoiler - it was obvious - if you checked the credits and paid attention and didn't talk over important dialogue. :)
For instance do you know the name of the doctor in this episode? - it's Doctor Quadpaw - it's right there in the credits.
This is my favorite episode, but it only barely edges out a couple others. I'm a bit of a sucker for the visual spectacle that the Eye brought to the series.
Scotland, specifically the Cruachan Reservoir in Argyll.
Andor was put in a bad spot because Skeen will most likely betray him later, so he ended it right there.
EVERYTHING IS PURE “GRAVY” from here on out.
