it isnt christmas for me unless this song is playing often... love this song Alabamas music is so easy to like and so are they. fame and fortune hasnt changed them like it has so many in the industry and they have stayed true to their roots. love seeing them in concert when i could over the years..
Remember the gift is what's in your heart and not what's in your hand (Joseph and Mary's Boy[same album]) and I say why not keep the spirit of Christmas as well as this song alive all year. :)
@@annarobinson72 I play it numerous times through the year, to remind myself of the Christmas Love Vibration, so I can go with flow, year round. Happy Holidays Anna ❣🎄❣✨❣🙏❣💕❣
Alabama should let Lynne Hamilton sing this. After all, she sang the original when she recorded the theme tune to Prisoner. If the "writers" of Christmas in Dixie had any decency, they should give all royalties to Allan Caswell, composer of the Prisoner theme.
There's pure southern goodness in this song ! I Love it and them ! Check out the bio on Jeff Cook (lead guitar) He 's quite an accomplished and generous man !
they did not "steal"this song,it came out many years ago, why,if you are correct, woulod sony wait so many years to sue???and dont you realize that a big corporation like sony,.would research copyrights o whatever is involved in owner ship of a song.BEFORE they produced it???
Christmas in Dixie was released in 1982. The Prisoner theme was written and recorded well before that in 1978, I believe. Sony ATV own the copyright to both songs and that's the problem: with any litigation, they'd be effectively suing themselves. The real loser in this is the Prisoner composer Allan Caswell as he doesn't get a cent from Christmas in Dixie, even though musically and harmonically the 2 songs are virtually identical.
Always a class act, I'm listening from SC, grew up on these gentleman.🥰❤️
We will miss you 😔 😢 Jeff Cook
