These days in the U.K. I have to look mostly for tribute band, but so far I have never found a Bob Seger tribute band, which is a travesty in my opinion!
Met Bob when I worked at a grocery store in Michigan about 12 or so years ago. I was 20 something at the time and I couldn't believe it was him shopping for veggies. I politely said hello and that I didn't want to bother him but that I am a huge fan of his music, and he took the time to talk with me and take a picture with me. Truly a wonderful man, I was conceived the night after my parents went to a concert of his, so I had to thank him for my existence.
One evening I was jamming to Seger and my dad came in and said "I'll be glad when you outgrow that shit!" That was 50 years ago. Still jamming to Seger.
I was much luckier than you! My dad heard me listening to this album in 1979, asked me who it was, and soon after in 1980, took me, my brother, and two friends to Madison Square Garden to see them "Touring Against the Wind"!
I thank god I grew up during this time. Real talent. No voice machines. No 300 dancers on stage to distract you from how bad they sing. Pure raw talent. Bob Seger is an American icon
This song reminds me of my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battle with cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, life could be so unfair most times but sometimes I wonder why bad things always happen to good people. She’s always in our hearts.
I was born in 98’ but growing up my dad would play this song and Bob’s albums on our road trips. It’s still one of my favorite memories with my dad. It’s amazing how timeless his music is!

Actually, Ozzy still rules -Discovery Zone -Playing in the woods from lunch until dark -Walking to your friends house to knock on their door and ask if they can play
I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s in Detroit and you couldn’t go to a high school party or parking lot hangout and not hear these timeless songs of Bob Seger. A true American icon.
Didn't realize 40 45 years ago I was hearing the greatest music and voices of all time, country and Rock and roll, nobody will ever be able to repeat what we all heard first!

I remember the Night Moves tour. Alto was doing his solo but we didn't see him on stage and we wondered where he was...then we saw him on the PA stack playing. It was a great show and a good time party. I will never forget.
@@billmiller5741 -- Great memory! I have a similar one where Alto disappeared for a moment theh reappeared on the knee-high wall that separated the seats from the orchestra pit (old Orpheum theatre in Boston). He did a one-legged Chuck Berry style walk along the wall as he jammed his sax. Damn, I sure wish handy video cameras were around then. What a great show. Seger and the SBB in top form. RIP, Alto. Thanks for your comment! Cheers!
Growing up in the 80s I was a huge Bob Seger fan. A few years back my wife surprised me with concert tickets in Pennsylvania (we lived in CT) Road trip great concert and she's been a fan ever since 😂
How bout it. I went to a Bob Seager and the Silver Bullet Band Concert at the Cow Palace in San Francisco somewhere around 75 and it's been wild every since in a good way.
Got to see Bob and the band in2011 in Minnesota . Had to fly over from the U.k - specially! Couldn't see him coming over here again and it was on the bucket list and had to be done. Absolutely brilliant!
No matter how much I listen to this song, I get goosebumps all over my body each time. My husband joked and said he wished I had that same reaction when he walked in. I responded that I loved him "still the same".. Lol!
I absolutely love when he looked down at somebody he knew in the audience and smiled while singing 1:31 - then at 1:41 he looks down again with that huge smile and sings: "nobody's standing in your way" Bob has the most beautiful smile of anyone i have ever known. What a legend. I live in Michigan and hope he does one last concert here, but i think he is done! :-(
Just sit back and just look at him..one of the most beautiful rockers of all time..yah flick back the hair....magic ...pardon me while an old lady enjoys this for the umpteenth time..never enough. Don’t forget he wrote STRUT for jane fonda...it was years before she was aware of it...sad...🇨🇦🇨🇦

I seen him in Omaha about 5 years ago. He was "Still the same". Nailed it for a 2 hour show zero breaks. Sound was still spot on. Hell of a show. Silver Bullet Band was a staple at all of our parties. Couldn't have a party without them.
what i would give to be alive in the 70s. to be standing there in that crowd with a bunch of other life lovin people, without a piece of modern technology in sight. i’m 20 and expected to listen to mumble rap and hip hop..they just don’t make music the way they used to man, when people had actual talent. watching these live performances of segar, lynyrd skynyrd, elton, the eagles really highlights that…man
This song makes me feel like I'm falling in love, and I've heard this song my entire life. There's a lot of sentimental memories of my childhood attached to this song ❤️🎶
The crowd went wild at 1:57 of the video when Bob went slightly higher in pitch and sang "I still aim high," because it was divine in quality and he held it a little bit longer, and the crowd knew it could not get any better than that!
This man not only sang great songs, he wrote them.. talent like that is rare...

-The music made for us was by people like us, not the best looking social media darlings who have autotune and followers
-Our parents might not have all been perfect but those were the generations that actually started to try and shield their kids from the real world at least until they got their liscence
-There were only so many shows so it was easy to connect with other kids in school about we all watched on Saturday night/Sunday morning
-Nobody was shooting up schools
-Child predators had to work so much harder because they couldn't just chat online with potential victims
-Kids were able to feel like they didn't know everything because it was "on wikipedia" so you actually absorbed information better
-Being a kid when N64 came out was *legendary*
-I'd argue that it was easier to be an individual when you didn't have so many readily available whole personality templates and styles to choose from online.

His smile is beyond measure - makes me smile back every single time!!
I watch this every day just to see him smile!!
Me too! & He (Bob Seger) seems to be really enjoying life!
feels good to see natural passion from artists...
Much to my regret, never!@Bobsegermusicinc
Never managed to see Bob, one of life’s regrets. 🥺
There are some songs you wonder why it still isn't in the top 10... This was when music was music...
'you're still the same, you still aim high'
THE BEST!!!!
The man.
R.I .P Alto Reed 1948 2020
great Saxophone player from Bob Seger and The Sliver Bullet Band
What? I had no idea. I thought he was alive and well. Remember him well from the Seger tours. RIP, Alto.
He was amazing. R.I.P. Alto
Cheers!
@@rerite2 thank you for sharing...good memories are the smiles of life.
Bring handle bar mustaches back!!! He so sexy , always loved him!! Born in 76 and my parents loved him.
Growing up in the 80s I was a huge Bob Seger fan. A few years back my wife surprised me with concert tickets in Pennsylvania (we lived in CT) Road trip great concert and she's been a fan ever since 😂
This song brings back good memories of summer in 70s man times sure have changed. 😔❤
Wish I had been there. The concerts must have been amazing.
I feel ya
You ain’t shitting!
1981. I was 16 years old must I say more. 👍👍👍👌👌👌✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
No matter how much I listen to this song, I get goosebumps all over my body each time. My husband joked and said he wished I had that same reaction when he walked in. I responded that I loved him "still the same".. Lol!
We all wish hot girls got goosebumps over our music.
I really appreciate the love and support I get from you fan
Mr Bob Seger, sir, you are a true 'Patriot", and..., 'Guardian'.
I love you so much, and..., "Thank you!".
Respectfully, Woody.
I see through this video Bob had pretty good teeth for his time and generation.
A masterpiece. Springsteen could only wish
Love 'em both. Both great artists.
Bob Segar. In the 70s probably the most underrated r&r man preforming.
Imagine being one of the privileged few to get to see Bob in his prime here.
Love seeing the man clearly enjoying himself.
We had a special time
Happy 78th birthday Bob
The joy of making a living loving what you do.
You can tell that he was having a great time. He looked very happy and that’s the same effect his music has on me. Love this man’s music.
At one point during the song you can see that something catches his eye in the audience and made him smile and almost laugh... Wonder what it was....
Ah man.. He looked so happy and content there. What a voice.
No doubt, he loves his fans!
@@afftongrown6445 He really is one of the good guys of rock.
This is music!
Another old lady also enjoys him tremendously!!
I seriously doubt that Bob has ever had a tough time getting dates.
Never realized it was for Jane Fonda.
I am another “old lady” enjoying this beautiful man…
So grateful i was a kid in these days .
Yeah ....I was like 13, 14. Great times!
I'm 64 years old and Bob Seger's music was the soundtrack of my youth.
I was there, I was in the Marines then. This is a great fine. We were in the upper level to the left of the stage...great seats...you could see the whole stage.
Thanks for your service ❣️ the country and constitution may need you again
Bob is that rare musician who sounds better than Studio when playing Live...Note:"LIVE Bullet"
They all do
Jahr 2024, es ist großartige Musik. Ich höre sie ständig und sie fasziniert mich. Bob, du bist einmalig🙌💃🏻🫶
Thanks!
I grew up in Michigan, Bob seger was always around. What an amazing talent ☺️,
I really appreciate the love and support I get from you fan
@@officialbobseger8483 Bob do you remember when you played at the micatam lounge before you became a star ⭐. It was nice to see you there I was young, I'm from Flint Michigan. I have seen you in concert 4 x. Love your music 🎶🎶🎶
@@roniwestern9737 that's so sweet of you I hope we eventually get to meet again. You seem very nice and I would like to still keep in touch with you. I can't say much here but we can writing privately if that's fine with you.
@@officialbobseger8483 do you use Google chat mister seger? I would love to talk to you ❤️💯
@@roniwestern9737You can write me up privately. That's my details below
I was 10 years old in 1978. This was a damn good song.
This song reminds me of my Grandpa. Served in Korea and Nam. Got out, worked in the Steel mills. And owned a bar with his buddies. Took me into the bar a got a big ass slim Jim and played air hockey 💪🏻💪🏻😎. Awesome memories!
Bob your the best. Your the only rocker that I have seen that when he’s not singing he’s smiling. That is the ultimate positive happy rocker I’ve ever had the privilege of watching. Your a roll model and should be something all artist should emulate. All the best to ya from us old Canadian boys.
This was my favorite look for Bob Seger his long chestnut hair!
They'll never be another time like The 70's!
Beautiful of the wonderful music!❤
Im 33 and only heard this song for the first time maybe 3 months ago 😅 my parents decided it was a good time to finally play this song in my presence. OBSESSED "turned on the charm, long enough to get you backkkkk" ❤️❤️❤️
Im from the u.p of michigan. Bob seger is a god in michigan. His fanbase here is pretty big. We also practice a religion called ice hockey 🏒
I seen him in Omaha about 5 years ago. He was "Still the same". Nailed it for a 2 hour show zero breaks. Sound was still spot on. Hell of a show. Silver Bullet Band was a staple at all of our parties. Couldn't have a party without them.
what i would give to be alive in the 70s. to be standing there in that crowd with a bunch of other life lovin people, without a piece of modern technology in sight. i’m 20 and expected to listen to mumble rap and hip hop..they just don’t make music the way they used to man, when people had actual talent. watching these live performances of segar, lynyrd skynyrd, elton, the eagles really highlights that…man
Good times.
This song always makes my eyes water. Is so powerful and sad in a beautiful way.
Hello, Thanks for your positive compliment about my song, it’s nice seeing all this beautiful comments. How are you doing ?
This song makes me feel like I'm falling in love, and I've heard this song my entire life. There's a lot of sentimental memories of my childhood attached to this song ❤️🎶
Thanks for this, have you ever been to any of my shows ? Which song is your best ?
@@BobSeger0 you're a bastard for posing as Bob Seger.
The crowd went wild at 1:57 of the video when Bob went slightly higher in pitch and sang "I still aim high," because it was divine in quality and he held it a little bit longer, and the crowd knew it could not get any better than that!
