Almost turned you off at the start cuz it took you two minutes to introduce yourself, but super glad I stuck with you cuz you gave me a lot of real, honest, useful observations. Thanks so much. Keep up the good work.
There are options to living right in the city. I live in Ohio and we shop in Robinson. I know a ton of people who work in Pittsburgh businesses or go to higher education in the city, but live in Ohio and West Virginia. Steubenville/weirton areas are growing at a fast rate for all the right reasons.
I disagree with you about our water bills. Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority's rates are obscene because of the ancient infrastructure, and our rates keep rising. Still, in general, I love Pittsburgh.
@@JosueDerasJustMe the southside is an area that realtors are not likely eager to discuss. the south hills and the south side are two completely different places. s h covers a large number of varied neighborhoods - the s s is, however, one very troubled section of town. at one time, the s s was little shops with a few hip bars and clubs. today, there are few shops and there are wall-to-wall bars with wall-to-wall problems. they keep promising extra police patrols that last for a few weeks to cool it down, but they have a manpower issue in the pd and very soon the drunken chaos resumes. they try things like barring vehicles from entering the area between certain hours, but it just doesn't work. folks are getting punched, stabbed and shot down there regularly. those living there complain about their cars getting sideswiped and vandalized, finding passed out drunks on their stoops and porches and speak to deaf ears about their flowers, shrubs and yards being used for bathrooms. back when, alarms were sounded about the number of liquor license transfers that were being approved for that area, but they claimed to want a 'vibrant' night spot and approved what they saw as higher ends moving in - only issue with that was that once they started never saying no, they set a precedent of no longer being able to say no. now, many of the original transfers are getting out, saying it is just too bad there now - which leaves more of the lower end joints to drive the place into the ground. the city has absolutely no idea of what to do next. you could not pay me to drive through the s s after 5 with a bazooka strapped to the hood of my corolla now, and if you are down there near a holiday, like christmas, new years, the fourth or st. paddy's, you will trash your vehicle just trying to drive through the drinking mob. at times, they have to bring horse-mounted cops into the mess. my opinion? run from whatever wants you to live there. i should, however be clear, i love pgh and western pa. the south side is just not somewhere you want to be.
I have a 2 bed 2 bath. I only use one bathroom and it’s just me and my dog. My water bill is about 35 a month, sewer 35 a month, electric in the summer is around 80-170 (170 in the hottest times and I keep my house at 75) and my gas is the real whopper. I have to be on a budget plan or else it’d be 300-400 a month in the winter. In the summer it’s really low, maybe around 40 bucks so it evens out on budget. Gas here is insanely expensive.
That's an urban legend. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Pittsburgh has 297 bridges. Philadelphia has 591 bridges, and many other U.S. cities have more bridges than Pittsburgh.
Im confused with this video i spent time visiting and used public transportation and i got everywhere from Mexican War Streets to Shadyside So i don't understand you putting your bus system down ?
In the city proper bus routes are more plentiful. North Hills and West Airport specifically, you're going to have trouble with busses. South Hills has the T in some areas, and the East is actually quite well routed with busses as well. Hope that helps.
@@samanthars1706 the best place to live for public transportation will be somewhere on the T line in the south hills or on a bus route in the east of the city (East Liberty area)
Pittsburgh Public Schools are not good, not even close. They want you to think they are good but the only reason the graduation rate is as high as it is, which isn't all that great, is because they graduate just about everyone regardless of grades.
Thank you for this video. I'm relocating to Pittsburgh on March 1st from the US Virgin Islands and I'm really looking forward to the change!
That’s great! I hope you enjoy your time here! Feel free to reach out if you need any realtor services or have any questions :)
welcome to Pittsburgh!
I left Pittsburgh in 1987 and went into the Marine Corps and just stayed in San Diego. Thank you for the video.

@greaterpittsburghliving you do you, I think your videos are great! I enjoy knowing who I'm getting information from!

What do you think of Southside Pittsburgh? Specially at Carson St.
Party town! Night and day difference. Literally. South Side has two faces
Would you recommend it to live there?

How expensive is expensive utilities there? Say per month? For say a 2 bedroom /2 bath house?

Looking to move here soon, how expensive is rent?
850-1500 on average, depending on where you live mostly.
Taxes will kill you
any place to eat a cheese steak sub?
I really like Lebo Subs in Mt Lebanon 👍
Canton Avenue is a great place to Snowboard after a HUGE snowstorm or blizzard🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There are more than a "couple" bridges in Pittsburgh
You’re right. 😅 I undersold it a bit
More of a pit review than anything else
At least it's not Cleveland
😂😂
For someone who lived there all your life I'm not hearing any accent.
California English has taken over my generation I’m afraid

Because they are stuck here like the rest of us and can't get out.

The whole state pays a 3% income tax lol
Yes. Pittsburgh local tax is 3% as well. So if you live in the city you’re paying way more income tax. But likely less property tax 👍
Only one thing you need to know don't move there
Facts Pittsburgh sucks born and raised
