Basics...
Bright indirect sunlight.
Keep moist, but never soaking wet. Humid with pot on a tray of moist pebbles.
Plant description--Leaves are dark, almost olive green with lighter green veins. Underside, rich red with greenish veins. Leaves usually 2-3 inches, up to 8 inches. Height 8-10 inches.
Flowers--In early Spring, are white about 1/2 inch across. The flowers are produced in tall, loosely branched pyramid-shaped clusters. Up to 30 flowers per cluster. To ensure good flowering, at the end of winter, the plant should be given a winter rest period in a steady, warm atmosphere.
Growing details...
Lifespan--Will live for years if given correct care.
Potting--Pot in peat-based compost in a half pot or shallow pan, as root tend to creep over the surface and do not go deep into soil. When soil mixture, soil moisture and temperature are correct, growth is robust.
Temperature--Normal room temperature. Keep above 55 degrees (13C) in winter.
Feeding--Use a dilute liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks during growing season.
Water--moderately during growing season, allowing top 1 inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Winter--water sparingly. Keep the air humid all times. Stand pot on a tray of moist pebbles.
Light--Place in partial shade. Bright, indirect sunlight most of the day. Avoid mid-day or hot sunlight.
