Wow that was fun. I picked the iPhone over the P3, but the P3 I picked over the ZV-1 ii, that surprised me. The RIII gives you an image that you can enhance to a greater level. Total different look. Thanks !
Thanks! I never thought of using the Pocket 3 for pictures , but they actually came out great. It’s really good for selfies, especially over phone cameras (if you’re using that front camera).
Impressive photo capibility from the DJI Pocket 3. Although I think the iPhone, ZV 1 and of course the A7r is better at photo. I just need the DJI Pocket 3 to beat the iPhone front and wide angle camera. All smart phone have horrible front and wide angle camera in low light and thats where the DJI Pocket 3 will come in for me.
Yeah, I was honestly surprised that the photos out of the Pocket 3 were pretty good. It does take 2-3secs for it to take pictures though. You hit the shutter, there’s a cycling symbol on the screen, and then it captures the image. But you’re right, the front camera and wide angle on the iPhones aren’t that good, I usually avoid using them if I can.
osmo pocket 3 doesn't have wide angle capabilities aside from its very good panorama feature. it uses a wide angle attachment lens that comes with the creator combo kit. mind you it doesn't do a whole lot
@@fiftynationit's a wide angle lens. maybe you're confused with ultra wide coz actually the attachment that you mentioned is an ultra wide angle lens attachment.

Yeah, I notice that the Pocket seems to overexpose, even in DLogM. I’m so used to overexposing my shots for LOG, but the Pocket has been a learning experience for me. Thanks for those tips though, I’ll have to try it out 👍🏼
I love the Pocket. I’d still rather use a dedicated camera to take pictures, but I wouldn’t be disappointed if the Pocket with the only thing I had with me to take pictures with
I would personally dial down the sharpness on the Pocket 3. It was a little too much for me. But it honestly impressed me how well the pictures were even compared to the 48mp iPhone. You won’t be able to crop into the Pocket 3 image as much though, so it would be best to get the image framed up in camera
I loved the comparison, and the daytime shots of the Osmo Pocket can be improved much more by lowering the exposure, because during the day it tends to overexpose
I noticed that the Osmo Pocket tends to overexpose, even in video. The fact that you can shoot with the Pocket in RAW and be able to adjust the photo is great
@@ROAMitRALPHNow I use the exposure at -0.7EV on slightly cloudy days, -1.0EV on a sunny day, and when it's totally cloudy at -0.3EV, and in DLog I vary between -0.7 and -0.3
It can take great images but the comparisson here is difficult. If you compare to iPhone you see the software edit the iPhone is doing internally a lot. It adds contrast and color and sharpness etc. That's why the pictures at least seem to be "better". It would be interesting to see how you can edit both files. Compared to the ZV1 Mark II you get more details in the ZV1 but out of camera... I don't know how to compare it to be honest. I don't see a big difference. Comparing to the A7RIII ones you spot the difference correctly it's also obvious in every picture which was taken by which device. Due to the nature of the pictures it's a bit tricky in some to tell for sure. But especially the dog picture you can see the software sharpening and contrast the DJI added whereas the A7RIII seems more flat (but also holds much more details in the hair for example). The thing is: With the raw files (probably even the JPEG files) from the A7RIII you have so many more possibilities... and that's the really interesting difference. You should take sample pictures and show how much you can do with them in edit. Especially raising the shadows and trying to rescue the highlights ;-) Without owning the DJI or the ZV1 I would bet that the A7RIII files will be superior by far. So in my opinion the only real question is which device is superior between iPhone (or other smart phone...) vs DJI... because the question here is what you really want to take with you. If you are more photocentric and all you need is your phone... why even bother.
Same! I've actually been taking more photos with it that I thought I would be. The shutter delay is still an annoyance to me, but nothing I can't work around.
Nice comparison. Thank you for the downloadable samples too! I am surprised how much I liked the iPhone. Photos look like they were an afterthought for Pocket 3. A7R III, naturally, has the best quality and that sweet bokeh. Very impressive, but it also seems to lack that smartphone intelligence as images are too dark at times. ZV1 Mark II, like Pocket 3, seems to be better suited as just a video camera.
Yeah, the images out of the A7RIII are nice, but definitely need some editing to get the most out of them. The HDR from the iPhone definitely helped with its images. And yeah, the other two definitely made for video. I didn’t say it in the video, but it took about 2-3secs on the Pocket 3 to actually take the picture after hitting the shutter button. I’m glad the download was helpful, I figured it would help since UA-cam compresses the images.
Impressive night capabilities from dji, the colours look like a phone camera daytime, not in a good way mostly. iPhone needs to lower the yellows and contrast, fix the lens flares and get a 1 inch sensor and manual controls asap.
Yeah, you start to notice the trend with the yellowing in the iPhone. The Pocket in the daytime was a little too over saturated for me, especially in the sky. I just updated my description with a link to download the photos so you can see it better uncompressed. But you pretty much already nailed it.
The "best" camera is always the one you happen to have with you. The Pocket3 is VERY easy to have with you all the time and covers many many photo and video requirements it seems to me. Maybe I'm getting lazy as I get older but for quickly grabbing nice photos and video clips the convenience wins for me.
Oh, I’m right there with you lol. The only thing I don’t like about the Pocket taking photos is that it’s kind of delayed with the shutter. But for what I like to take photos of, it works fine. And it’s even better when you can use the Mic as a remote.
0:50 I'm sorry to say but the focus looks like its not on the dog with the Pocket 3. I really don't like the oversharpening on the iphone pohotos. Everything looks "crispy" not pleasing at all.

I should have put it in this video, but my problem with the Pocket taking photos is how long it takes to take the photo after hitting the shutter.
