Since it wasn’t explained I’ll do it: The reason Shion wasn’t affected by Claymans abilities was because post-resurrection she received the skill “Perfect Memory” which, on top of being self explanatory, also gave her immunity from mind control and similar effects. So a close combat specialist with protection from mind control...literally Claymans’ worst possible match up!
Wow that even makes it ironic since that means it's his own attempt to destroy tempest that gave her the ability to resist his mind control

*SPOILER* (maybe):, now everything she cuts obeys her will, her ultimate ability "Master Chef" makes reality change to accommodate those changes, she could partially dismember someone and if she wants the result to be something still alive, that someone will still live, with horrible results.
I know because she has already done something similar in the novel.

@@deadshot1995 Yeah, I knew that, don't remember if it was mentioned in the show, but given he was already dismissing Clayman the moment he started wondering if it was the human souls he was after for the true Demon evolution and given they all just got a pretty heafty boost from his evolution, the only real question in my mind the moment Shion went for him was whether it'd be a short fight or a beat down. I meant the part about him not doing it because he thought it'd be bullying.

This just means all of Rimuru's closest subjects are around the same level of a Demon Lord already 😂
While that's not entirely wrong, I don't think Shion would have been able to hold her own against any other Demon Lord except Clayman. The match up is too one sided in this case. Shion is a CQC specialist with a few aoe cannon type spells, who by coincidence is immune to mind control and mind impairing effects. Clayman was constructed to be a purely technical mage, focusing on espionage, mind control, and tactics. If this Shion had to fight one of the next two weakest Lord's, Carrion or Freya, she'd probably got folded
I love the sound design behind this fight. All the smashing and cracking noises make it clear just how tough and durable Clayman's body is supposed to be, but it's nothing compared to Shion's strength. Like a bull in a china shop she's just wrecking everything.

For Clayman it was a fight, for Shion a game of ping-pong where *he* was the ball.
The sound effects will never cease to amaze me, it's one of my favorite things about Tensura💯

We get Diablo and other primordial demon action later on. It won't fit in this season, maybe next or one after that when we get to see it.

They didn't explain it in the episode, but if I remember correctly:
Shion couldn't be controlled by Clayman because she died and was resurrected, which gave her a couple of skills/resistances, she is pretty much immune to mental manipulation.
But not immune to honey.
Correct they skipped a few things in this episode like they didn’t even explain why milim had those dragon mittens etc…

The majority of the demon lords haven't evolved into actual demon lords. They're just demon lords in name only. Any strong monster that has enough territory can call themselves a demon lord. Shion and Benimaru could also become demon lords if they weren't serving under Rimuru. After rimuru evolved his subordinates also evolved and got a similar boost. Shion evolved into a wicked oni.
