Dimash is speaking in Kazakh, not in Mandarin ( only a few lines which he learnt) he has a interpreter with him always. He finds difficult to learn Mandarin still now, so he have little progress in that

The way Dimash performed this, listen, as if he carried you into a long gone time. Suddenly you see sunset on horizon, its reflection on the river, folks on the boat, trees swaying with the wind along the hills. He really paints this picture in your mind.

Teacher Paul Dimash lived in China for awhile, I saw in one of his documentaries Maybe you could watch some of them. I think Chinese is a strong sounding language 🦻🏻You really need to watch his new video Golden it’s a mini movie, kinda like James Bond meets Sci-fi
He speaks Kazach in between a couple of Chinese words here
He was in a competition last year with this song. The QR code was for voting. Its not useful now.
he spoke Kazakh there, there was a translator standing next to him,. There was actually a funny story, before the host realised Di cannot speak Chinese, he had started talking to him in Chinese, and then Dimash started to call his translator's name giggling, don't remember the name of the translator, sorry, but it was so funny. The song was in Chinese, but the speaking parts, apart from the tongue twister and the short line of the poem, were all in Kazakh. :p Dimash cannot speak Chinese even though he spent there three years, he tried to learn it, but he didn't have time for it because if the concerts, tours, interviews, shows and different performances :)
