Dimash dedicated it to his Dears on May 24,2023, his birthday, the MV was released, less than two weeks later his grandfather passed and many of us feel that so much of the pain we hear is knowledge of that very sad time coming. Dimash was raised by his grandparents, he called them mama and papa, so it was devastating. Mansur, his brother, just turned 17 in January and Dimash will be 30 on May 24, but obviously they are a close family.
How did he know? He was in Los Angeles at that time. He would Never have stayed there if he knew his grandfather was about to die,he would have been at his side.
@@suzanne6664 I certainly don’t have the impression that it was a short term illness, the family talks all of the time according to Igor so I am sure that he was aware that his grandfathers health wasn’t great, as far as knowing exactly when, nobody has that ability. It was also stated that he really didn’t want to do the concert immediately following his passing but his grandfather always said that you must keep your commitments.

As others have commented, Dimash released an MV of this very personal song on his birthday last year as a gift to his Dears and the people who have touched his life to convey how grateful he is to all those who helped him on his journey. It’s one of the few times he has both composed the music and wrote the lyrics. I’m on the fence as to which I prefer but I think I like this intimate setting slightly better where you can concentrate on his vocals more. I also like that he’s involved his brother Mansur who is a talented musician in his own right. I hope you continue with more Dimash. He just released an MV of his recent composition, When I’ve Got You. Perhaps you could react to that next. It’s something different and again shows how Dimash will continue to surprise you. I think you would enjoy it.

Omir is my favourite song. By any musician. It is so insanely gentle and beautiful. And Dimash makes it sound so easy when it is definitely anything but. His natural singing talent combined with his incredible work ethic to train his voice for hours every day have created a unique and phenomenal performer. The words of the song also fit the music and the arrangement as well. I’ve never heard another singer who has the dynamic control of his voice and the skill to use it and know *when* to use *what*. I feel so fortunate to be alive at the same time as this phenomenal singer, composer, musician, and performer. And I agree with you about the camerawork.
