Man rips through a whole pack of playing cards...Eddie struggles to rip through the plastic to open a box of playing cards 😂
Fiddly little buggars 😂
@@thebeasteddiehallreacts I do alot of this myself, and ill say the cards and book riping is all about technique, unlike the bending stuff. Pretty athletic men if knows the secrets, could rip pack of cards(if they are not covered in plastic) I think you could rip two of those)))
I think Eddie is messing with us. If I remember correctly Eddie, Oburst, and Nick ripped a deck on history’s strongest man.
@@thebeasteddiehallreacts He clearly wasn't hydrated tho. Next time he does it he'll drink plenty of fluids first.
Common man! Im sure he can rip the thing even without unpacking. Eddiehall for sure is just playing. 😂

Get that up on your wall! 🤣
Man, I'm wheezing!
xd
@@thebeasteddiehallreacts
F the wall, put it on a t-shirt! Merch opportunities buddy!
There's a trick to ripping cards and phone books. You see how he kinda fanned the cards out? He hid it good too..
Anyone can search UA-cam showing tutorials on how to tear cards and phone books. I was tearing phone books when I was 12 years old and showing off to my friends.
You should do more unboxing stuff Eddie 😂
“Ain’t nobody got time for dat”
But without any tools like knife or scissors, so it's just Eddie's bare hands
Lmfao
You and Brian definitely need to meet up with this guy and do some really cool challenges with him
Brian would beat both of them
@@noahc8997not even close
@@noahc8997 in tearing and bending stuff no way he's gonna beat that guy
@@noahc8997 not a chance!
@@Milan_M95 Brian is a grip strength god. I think he's the only strongman that specifically trains grip.
This guy is AMAZING. And yeah, do a collab with him Eddie!
Not only strongmen have that crazy grip strength. Armwrestlers also have it. A fair example is Denis Cyplenkov. He ripped in half a deck of cards and a calendar in a recent video. Denis is also famous for cracking walnuts with his fingers.
So awesome to see you feature Chris "Hairculese" Rider, Eddie! He lives just down the road from me in central PA (though I haven't met him personally yet) - Been watching his videos for years and it's great to see his channels starting to blow up and get the notoriety he deserves. 💪
Love your reaction videos Eddy! Great to see a strongman appreciating different forms of strength. Definitely need to do some challenges with this guy and see what he does specifically for grip.
Eddie is a cool guy! thanks for being and making videos!
Love his humor, doesn't waste stuff, and make people smile.
A decent individual. Humble, calm and based.
Always been impressed with grip strength challenges. It’s something we can all relate to.
My brother in law has been a diesel mechanic for the better part of 3 decades. His grip strength is nothing short of phenomenal. He curled his index finger and asked me to straighten it. I used my entire hand and couldn't do it. I'm 6"3, 215lbs for reference...
@@SteveCabana-ir7jt holy cow, it’s crazy what some people can do
@@SteveCabana-ir7jt If it's his sister that you're married to, never make her upset or you might get curled up like that index finger.
@@Nazeem_6621 haha he's married to my sister actually.
I'm a rockclimber. I'm quite fit and athletic but not much bulk. People are always so fascinated by my gripstrength😂
I'm more so just happy to see zero ego and that this beast of a human is just simply impressed by another beast
It's NOT just about strength. I work at a hospital and nurses often have a hard time cutting tape with their fingers. Similar phenomena happened on Eddie Hall's Card. Safe to assume Eddie is doing it the wrong way similar to the Nurses at my work. If you hold the tape the wrong way, it will stretch. This is exactly what's happening with the deck of card.
I think I see what you’re saying. Mechanical advantage vs strength.
I wrote a comment sing pretty much the same thing because in high school I used to tear phone books all the time. But I said na, and deleted it cause I felt best to just not start a mob of weak egod people flooding me saying Im a liar, to prove it, and so on. Lol.
But your way of explaining it by comparing to tape is actually really good.
The best explanation I could think of to explain it was your hands needing to be close together to get the initial rip started because if not the paper will be too flexible and not want to rip..
After the initial tear, the rest gives relatively easily.
@@feetishfriend9624 Also, the force needs to be at the end of the object, not the middle.
_People do not realise there is a difference between breaking and tearing._
If you grip the tape in the middle, your just stretching it. However if you grip at the end, it will tear.
I do the same with those dual alcohol swabs. Half is used to sterilize skin you're poking, other is to clean the blood off. I have the habit of tearing a big pile of alcohol swabs for fun.
You're correct but this dude also is applying some absurd grip strength into it. He's not doing as much of the "trick" as most would.
@@ZachGatesHere There will always be a minimal requirement to strength, however efficiency is a different topic.
Proper technique (Trick) does help to accomplish the goal.
Definitely would like to see you meet up with this guy and that other circus strongman that bends hammers.
Far as I'm aware a video showing strongmen from different strongmen disciplines has not really been done yet, or has it?
That would actually make a brilliant video, say you and Brian was to go up against them two in grip challenges and then vice versa them trying out some lifts.
You got to make it happen Eddie, we would love it.
Chris Ryder, aka, Haircules, has a couple books out, cards, horseshoes, etc. absolutely awesome guy. Warms my heart to see Eddie come across Chris.
Let’s also point out the fact phone books are still out there. Somewhere, but they’re out there, waiting to be ripped in two.
the most impressive thing is that he does it all with a relaxed smile on his face. if i was able to do what he does my face would be in pieces, i'd look like a monsterous aniimal
The phone book and cards is a technique thing as well as strength, you create a little air pocket between each page and actually makes it somewhat doable !
the dude on the video duct taped it though
My 8 years old daughter has those same exact plastic things and she can easily break them apart
@Alan Brados cards?
I been working with chrome hand tools for years, and I'm always very sceptical when I see these guys bending tools. Because I have broken chrome sockets, wrenches, and extensions, and it is exactly that chrome tools shatter they don't bend. The tools that bend are typically really cheap and are actually quite soft metals. So that's my take on the tools. Let's see if he can bend a chrome wrench.
Truth
Imaof just watching you open that pack of cards! Totally awesome!
You are something special Eddie, I don't know why or what exactly are you doing but it's pure ,genuine and awesome. Each time i visit your channel is making my day better. All the best bro.
🤣 Eddie, your such a legend for leaving your ego at the door with the cards brother! 🤣 Great stuff m8 ✌❤
Guy has super strong hands. You're right about the pain threshold factor. Watch Denis Cyplenkov crack walnuts with thumb and forefinger. He's not just popping the seams, he's crushing through the shells as well. That can't feel good.
I love halls personality bruh man's a true character
Dennis Rogers was insane with this sort of strength and him being a small guy made it even worse. Definitely pound for pound one of the strongest human beings ever
WE NEED HIM ON THE CHANNEL DOING THIS STUFF IN PERSON THEN LETTING YOU HAVE A GO PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN IM SO EXCITED !!!... but now, imma go drink a milkshake.
Hey Sam, I hope you enjoyed your milkshake! :)
Keep lifting though, I hope you get big and stronk
Sounds more like you're off to the bathroom to create one 😝
@@Wulfrune LOL!! I was drunk when I typed that. Would be cool to have him on the channel though.
My thoughts too.
Playing cards using raw strength is tough, but there's a slight technique that can be used to turn it into a party trick - apply pressure inwards to bend the deck as to separate all the cards (so front bends forward, back bends backwards and all the cards in between get a slight bend with a bit of space between each card and the next), and rip through that - much easier with the gaps, and the same tekkers applies to ripping phonebooks in half too, makes it easy enough for regular blokes to do -- notice how matey in the vid starts the tear off by pushing the two phonebooks into his leg, I'd wager it's to apply some of this technique to double-duct-taped phonebook! (plus he's a beast anyway)
As a young man I learned to tear phone books in half, and you are right it's technique over strength.
Same with apples as well, though different technique. Was always a fun time being a pretty average sized teenager with probably under-average chest and arms, yet ripping apples and phonebooks in half, while the bigger lads struggled to repeat it.
Same with smashing bricks or blocks in martial arts..we stacked them with 1/8" between them and once that first one breaks, it's a domino effect
Thank you Eddie for your videos. It's funny and my family love that.
Seeing Eddie struggling to open the package is the funniest part of this video!
one of the strongest men ever to walk the earth beaten by a pack of cards..... obviously one of the strongest packs of cards to ...eerm ever walk the earth, We luv's ya Eddie
There's a technique to the deck of cards rip that makes it much easier, you can see the deck is slightly fanned so it's kinda like ripping a few cards at a time.
The bending things like frying pans and rebar still confuses me but yeah phonebooks and cards has a lot to do with the techniques.
But don't get it wrong for one second, this is still impossible for most people and very impressive
@@clion520 yeah the rebar is actually legitimate lol, and I've worked with rebar and the thinner gauge stuff is already hard to bend let alone that think rebar.
@@bigbird4481it's easy for me
Definitely!!! I nearly ripped a deck when I was 14 😂😂
immer beste Unterhaltung danke Beast Eddy
I laughed so hard watching Eddie struggle with the package opening😂👍
It's not only the technique and pain thresholds. The size of the hands, fingers and wrists are also very important for grip strength. A smaller hand with shorter fingers simply won't get the same "torque" as a bigger hand with bigger fingers.
Also the strength itself is more of static/isometric type than when lifting a weight in a dynamic way. A static non moving force have to be overcome and then something gives off to bend very slowly, which is something different compared to normal lifting. Also to be able to hold that static force for many seconds (static endurance) in kind of the same position when the object is bending slowly is very different to lifting a weight.
I can slowmo on matter too! Torque, leverage and apparentcy.
If his grip is so great then i'd like to see him do the number 4 Captains of Crush gripper.
For reps 🤣
Thanks Eddie for your sense of humor :)
Brilliant video Eddie.
It's great how Humble you are, most gym people are not. I'm medium build mechanic, 40 years worth and have some hand strength myself, but this guy is a different strong. Try a six pack holder folded up, behind your head, with little fingers only, SPECIAL!
I like seeing the look in Eddie's eyes where you can tell he's seriously imagining whether he can do it or not.
One of the strongest men alive struggles with a deck of cards 😂😂😂 love you Eddie
Cards was made from special japanese carbon steel. Despite this, he managed to break several of this cards!!!🔥🤯 Eddie Hall still is incredibly strong!🔥✊💪🙂👍
There's also a lot of technique involved in his rips NOT to take away from the fact the man is definitely strong.
My 8 years old daughter has those same exact plastic things and she can easily break them apart

baki hanma fantasy right there ,1 man can grip whole deck tear without a second impressive
Great Video
I would love to see Eddie send the playing card challenge to other strongmen just to see the reaction videos
I can say first hand, finger strength and hand strength take years of build up and to do some of the things this guy was also made me question some things. As a former machinist, and carpenter hammers don't bend like that and neither do wrenches, they would just snap after a certain degree of bend due to the type of steel they are made from... I've broken many wrenches and cheap hammers in my day lol
Yeah, the vast majority of these are fake for clicks. There are very strong people that can do amazing feats, but the hammers/wrenches and phone books are very telling. As you said they will just break and not bend like that, they've probably been super heated to destroy the hardening effects of their initial heat treatment. The phone book is obviously tampered with because they don't rip in a straight like that. It's essentially adding strength to a magic trick.
Lets get the collab going Eddie😎👌
9:16
Do you know what else is pretty cool!?
The tattoo on his arm. That's cooool👌🏽
The crazy thing about this guy is that I totally would have expected him to have Devon Laratt like forearms but his arms look relatively normal for a man of his build, he must have some real natural strength
If I remember correctly, you can bake a phone book or playing cards in a low heat oven for several hours and it will tear extremely easily. I remember reading this in a book called "Sneaky Feats".
2:02 it's almost likes it's childproof 😂
All love for The Beast
We need an Eddie Haircules teamup in the very near future!
So I don’t think I can do it necessarily, but I know the secret to this trick… it’s that you need the cards in a solid grip with all of them slightly offset so that you’re only actually starting ripping one at a time. It’s a pretty cool trick. Same with the phone books.
These are the most entertaining reaction videos ever because it's from the world's strongest man! I used to make fun of reaction videos but I actually care what this gem of a human being has to say
like you man you are good humble person with funny reactions sometimes 😂 hope to meet you one day
Eddie is such a king
I've never been one with great grip strength, but years ago I began doing handstands, my grip got so powerful that I crushed a glass cup in my hands, I don't know what shocked me the most the huge gash in the palm of my hand or the fact that I just crushed a glass cup with my hand.
From handstands alone
It looked like the other guy had cheap, paper only cards and eddie had a nice plastic coated deck which would be way harder.
“I can do that.. but i don’t wanna” 😊
The noise Eddie made trying to rip the pack of cards in half, fucking dying 😂
Absolute Beast is only one in a world!! He is Eddi Hall!! forever!! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩💪💪💪💪💪
Bet Shaw could do it Eddie
Lies.
It’s the “Nyeh! Nyeh! Nyeh!” When he’s ripping the cards
This guy may have been a craftsman. Have you ever shook hands with a carpenter? Those guys got insane power in their hands.
or farmer :)
Ita not so much strength as it is scar tissue and cologen build up. Eddie is without a doubt stronger but the old guy has very hard hands so he displaces more force against what he grips.
Of course, every time he does the challenging bends, it makes him stronger.
My man Chris Ryder is a strong dude!
And he did it all with a smile on his face. Excellent! Love the child proof packaging! Lmao
@4:26 starts to sound like Peter Griffin lol
Jokes aside, This is a great channel for you Eddie i really enjoy this style of video from you! cant wait to see more!!
Eddie, this is my new addiction channel. We definitely need more Eddie watches vids. I have a request if it's not overstepping. Can you please explain the scar over your left eye and cheek? Thanks in advance! Big Love!
Very cool, very funny, Mr. Hall
The face ripping the cards, reminded me of his face with his 500 deadlift.
Hohohohohoho... Woooow .. difficolt to belive the eyes ..
Eddie Hall i love you, GOT2 can't wait to see you
This had me on the floor
The realization that ripping the deck in half is extremely hard and the reaction to that is hilarious
Make it happen!
This eddie level of humor is just 😆
love the cameraman barely able to hold the snickering in during the card segment.
That myeah sound at 4:20 is just untradable content
Should be an award for opening that deck of cards 🤣
I need to see a haircules and Eddie hall video
GOD bless brother Eddie
The fact that the guy found a phone book is amazing
The playing card thing had me dying😂🤣😂🤣
Eddie is now training to be a magician
I got to day it. "Don't let that package kick you ass Eddie "... lol
Eddie you the best.Respect to that guy, extreme grip.
I was laughing my ass off when Eddie was spazing out from trying to rip the card's
The tape and phone book thing definitely impressive but the tape was wrapped to keep the pages together then turned and ripped the way anyone would separate a piece from the roll. Also the gaps in the tap made it easier to rip. Dudes grip strength is still insane to be able to rip a phone book in half
There is strength involved here but also technique is key here
I think the man is a robot. He didn't blink in any of these videos.
Earned my like by biting the card pack to get it open.
Beside your strength its also impressive what kind of funny and nice Person you are Eddie!
My coach!
The man doesn't even blink

Hahaha the sound’s definitely help 😂
This was impressive.
Plastic on the cards is a great example of never bring only muscles to a knife fight. Right tool for the job, as it were.
Thats a good deck of card commercial. A laminated deck of quality cards vs pure card paper cards
