Just had surgery today under general anesthesia. I was extremely worried about being unconscious. When I woke up,I did not remember a thing. I was under for over two hours. But it felt like five minutes to me. My surgery went extremely well, and I would tell anyone who is getting surgery not to worry at all. I felt like it was the best sleep of my life. 😊
I personally remember feeling quite emotional, tired and discomfort. I was so tired when the nurse gently woke me up but I remember being comforted because she was singing "Over the Rainbow". I'm not sure if she was sing to me or to herself but it made me feel safe.
I just had a surgery under general anesthesia and all i want to say was i was extremely worried before like not even caring for the actual surgery itself and all i can say is that it is an extremely easy experience. I got into the operating room very nervous and I remember then telling me to breath from the mask and i just kept repeating the word sleep in my head and the next second im in recovery. They had told me i would have burning in my arm as they were injecting the medication but it wasnt anything like that it was actually a nice feeling sort of like a little buzz going up the arm and then out. Nothing else. So if your going under anesthesia anytime soon trust me, do not worry because it is very easy. I hope this helps!
That’s exactly what happens to me lol i was terrified but all that happened was I closed my eyes for one second and the next I was awake in the recovery room and asking when I was getting the surgery but I was already over! Haha

Hey guys, I was watching these videos for months before I had a massive scalp lipoma removed from top of my head 7cmx7cmx2cm deep. I was terrified of being put to sleep, I went into the pre op room, this is where my nurse put my iv in, gave me pain killers and oxy via pills, once this was done my Anastasia tech came in and talked to me, informed me of everything he was Gona do: asked me if I get nervous which I said yes too. He then gave me Versed (happy drug) via my iv which you can’t feel it being injected. This made me feel really good and calmed me down a lot. After this I lost track of time and memory of the next 25 minutes before they wheeled me to my OR room. Next thing i remember is waking up in recovery. (Feeling absolutely amazing), it was like the best high I have ever had without any bad side effects. Once that was over they gave me juice and food and made sure I could pee & then sent me on my way home. The scalp lipoma removal recovery is not bad at all. I’d say at worst was a 4/10 pain. I’m not even using pain killers they prescribed me and I’m 3 days post op
After getting my wisdom teeth pulled my dad and the nurse were walking me at my sides holding my arms. The nurse asked “how are you feeling?” And my reply was “like I’m getting arrested, what did I do?” It was a fun car ride home
I don't even remember passing out tbh. I remember staring up at like 5 different people standing around the hospital bed, just staring at me for like 5 seconds like ".....any second now" and that's all I remember, so I guess I knocked out 😂
Im having ankle surgery in a week im TERRIFIED! I have really bad emetophobia and im so scared, Ill let yall know how it is cuz i need it on both ankles:( I have so much anxiety ab it any tips?
My mother was going though some sort of mri and had to be quite. She had claustrophobia and was terrified. Her and the nurse were silent when she got a notification from a game and her purse moo’ed
I’ve had my wisdom teeth and tonsils removed. Both times, I was put under by anesthesia. What’s weird is I dimly remember “waking up” from both operations. It felt like a dream, but it was real. After my wisdom teeth were yanked, I started singing Hamilton and the doctors kept telling me to be quieter. After my tonsils were removed, I started crying and calling out for my mom, who drove me to the surgery and was sitting in the waiting room. Anesthesia is a very interesting experience.
I’m more scared of what i’m going to say after I wake up and not having any control or memory of what shit I’ll say, and expose myself to my parents, than my operation itself. 💀
I did a breast biopsy yesterday and I was given anesthesia. I have no recollection of the procedure. I woke up in the recovery room it felt like I was asleep for hours. I felt relaxed and rested because I was sleep deprived for months so I was happy about that. It was my very first time being admitted in a hospital or having any medical procedures done so I was very nervous at first but trust me it’s not that bad.
People worried about it,don’t be,when I had some,I was out a minute later, then I woke up in the recovery room, everything went well, this is coming from a 13 year old
getting surgery tmrw and im so stressed, what if something happens and i dont wake up? (alot of people might say i obviously wont, i just like to overthink lol)
I remember when I was coming to from anesthesia, I could hear everything but I wasn’t awake. I started shaking and I was sooo SOOO cold and I remember the nurse saying “are you cold sweetie?” 🤣 they covered me up and another nurse was like “she tensed up didn’t she” and I woke up right after. It was a trip
I had emergency brain surgery. Two surgeries to be exact. One for obviously emergency and second for other personal reasons... but all I remember in second was counting down from 10 and I don’t remember reaching ten lol... but I woke up with a whopping headache ugh... but that’s my experience of it. I only was comfortable going consciously through the second surgery because I had a crush on my neurosurgeon lol! So that helped.
I'm getting dental surgery tomorrow through sedation and I'm nervous as hell. Apparently, I'm gonna be couscous during the procedure but won't feel anything. At this point, it's not even the surgery itself that's making me nervous. It's the IV. Those hurt like hell. Can't wait for it to be over.
I am also getting oral surgery. They are gonna give me laughing gas so I won’t feel anything, just feel the pressure. I have impacted canines, and I’m a bit nervous eeee
idk why i'm watching this. i've been under anesthesia before and i don't remember anything. january 13th i'm being put under for some major dental work. like top teeth removal, three bottom teeth removal, and a couple fillings and possibly a root canal but idk if that's happening 100% . the worst for me is getting the iv bc i really hate needles and the pain they give. i was put under for having my wisdom teeth out before so idk why i feel nervous about this. i'll also have dissolvable stitches...and i feel like i'll only be in pain for a day idk. i don't know if i'm getting pain killers even. but if not it's good that tylenol exists. wish me luck. if anyone truly cares i'll gladly do an update afterwards.
I did this yesterday for my ptosis surgery and it felt kinda good tbh 😂 my dreams were very random though, I started to wake up at the end of the procedure and once I realised what was happening I just got back to sleep.
I had a heart surgery the other day and all i remember is the surgeons saying they are gonna give me medicine then i was waking up with a small headache, feeling really sick and dizzy. It gets better as the day goes on but the dizzyness and sickness stayed for a day or so for me
just had a right knee manipulation and scope. They did a nerve block before the put me under and they gave me a slight sleepy stuff to make sure i didn’t feel that nerve block. I passed out before they even did the nerve block. best sleep ive had since my first surgery december 10th. dont stress about it. just know your gonna have some really good sleep. i always wake up scared. specially this morning because none of my family could be back with me so i woke up with no one near me. but good luck to everyone!
I don't even remember being in the operating room when i had my surgery. I don't remember all that counting down stuff people are talking about. The last thing i remember was the doctor putting something in my IV that was supposed to help me relax apparently while i was in the hallway, I'm guessing that was the thing that caused amnesia.
omg y’all I’m doing teeth surgery in 3 days (not pulling out teeth) removing an object from my gums and I will be put to sleep, I am TERRIFIED that I will become aware. I have been put to sleep once before, but I was too little to remember it, can y’all explain the process?
Just got all my wisdom teeth out, two of which were cut out. Barely felt the prick of the needle. Oral surgeon said I will be out in 15 seconds, that’s how long it takes to reach my brain. Suddenly I said it feels like I’m super drunk, because I became slightly dizzy and then I was waking up. Upon waking apparently I said I want to take my teeth with me so they gave them to me to take home lol. I felt funny walking immediately after but no drowsy effects or silly ness soon as I got into the car for my ride. Now I’ve been to three shops and told I look great. Didn’t need gauze after three hours. I’m 35. I’m still half numb because he said I will be for 12 hours but feeling great. I was shaking with anxiety on the way there and I feel that was the worst part of the whole thing. It was a breeze. Nothing to be scared of. I’d do it again no problem if I had to.
Anaesthesia is a little scary to be frank, I had undergone it as a child and remember to this day. There is a point where your eyesight begins to blur and light dims, then, voices begin to fade, you can literally hear them tunnelling away and away from you. Your senses are somewhat nullified. You are put down with the mere silhouette of a doctor towering over you , resembling a smear of blue moving further and further away until...you wake up. With absolutely no memory of whatever happened. You are now in a different room to the one you started in and your senses begin to kick in. That's it. Hours worth of surgery feels like a mere 5 minutes. Crazy.
I had it today First lots of air pressure in the mask Then stinky smell Then the sleeping gas Then this start to become blurry and your ear start ringing and echoing the voice Then your deaf and can’t hear Then your a sleep
why was anaesthetic gas stopped? i preferred gas to needles, is the gas bad or something? i didnt have no issues with been gased out before. last time i had the needle i woke up after op unable to move my body nurse wanted me off the op bed and on to the ward bed "but i cant move" i couldnt do it they had to lift me off, it was only a temporary issue i got back to normal shortly after.
last time I was put under for major ear surgery, apparently by my mom and doctor I refused to go under and punched the anesthesiologists- then after when I was half awake I kept mumbling apologies apparently I remembered? But I really don’t- I felt so bad apparently I clocked him in the face pretty good- I guess I have better aim when half drugged up. Cause I can’t punch worth shit whilst awake that’s one of my experiences.
I had full dental surgery under general anesthesia and was able to get through it after a while but my body had stored so much but i had slept after when i had gotten home i was able to sleep deep with by mouth going through minimal blood loss . IM still having some pain and so I was able to take my medications that i was perscribed to me when I had gotten home I still have to take the antibiotics and the pain pills .
You’ll be fine I had two major surgeries and I had to be intubated etc , it was nerves at first of course , but once they start filling your veins with the medicine you’ll feel yourself going to sleep no matter how strong you are , you can’t defeat it lol next thing you knw your waking up like what happened? It literally feels like you were out a moment, I woke up two days later , tho , only scary thing was when they said they had a hard time waking me up , it makes me really sleep I guess lol . The only thing that bothers me is the feeling of being that high . I hate that like drugged out feeling lol but it’s absolutely necessary. That’s the worst part to me , the wooziness when you wake up . But I was glad to see I was still here. I was really hungry when I woke up lol I asked for food . They were like yep she’s doing fine !

I'm absolutely terrified of anesthesia. I've only been under once in my life, and I hope that will be all. Anytime you're under anesthesia is dangerous.
Had surgery on my right thigh as there was an infected wound yesterday. While I was in operating room, doctor told me about anaesthesia and were putting you to sleep. The next moment the procedure was completed and I'm like WTF? I woke up and everything seems normal.
theres nothing to be scared of from my personal experience it feels like you black out then not even 5 seconds later you wake up im saying from my experience because i know its different for some people and the only bad thing is post-surgery pain
I have a question what do you see while under anesthesia do you dream or is it all blackness does it seem like you have just passed on from this world or like what do you see for those few hours
You don’t dream, once the anesthesia starts, you pretty much just go dark, next thing you know you are starting to wake up which you think that was quick but you were out like how ever long the surgery is. I get the sedation next week and they said you are very relaxed and not put all the way out. I’d rather have it that way, but not sure if it’s going to seem that quick or not. My surgery is supposed to last 5-6 hours
I had an operation on my shoulder today. I had the weirdest sensation in my bottom as soon as it was administered! Has anyone else had such a sensation! It was like my insides were sucking itself inwards.
The first time I was put under, I asked, "What does this thing do?" She said, "You'll see in a minute." Seconds later, I woke up, despite not remembering falling asleep. I was shocked. Crazy stuff.

We're so glad to hear you're doing well. Best wishes to you.
After getting my wisdom teeth pulled my dad and the nurse were walking me at my sides holding my arms. The nurse asked “how are you feeling?” And my reply was “like I’m getting arrested, what did I do?” It was a fun car ride home
Thank you this really helped me prepare for my wisdom teeth extraction
A Donaldson how did it go ?
I got 4 wisdom teeth removed with just local anesthesia, it hurt really bad!
I don't even remember passing out tbh. I remember staring up at like 5 different people standing around the hospital bed, just staring at me for like 5 seconds like ".....any second now" and that's all I remember, so I guess I knocked out 😂
i’m having surgery in two days, wish me luck! i’m being put to sleep but i’m only 13 and never has had surgery so i’m scared! any helpful info?
Hey should be done by now. How u feelin?
Omg I’m having surgery in two days!!! Arghhh😭
joe mama how you feeling?
Jade what for? How did it go?
Im having ankle surgery in a week im TERRIFIED! I have really bad emetophobia and im so scared, Ill let yall know how it is cuz i need it on both ankles:( I have so much anxiety ab it any tips?
My mother was going though some sort of mri and had to be quite. She had claustrophobia and was terrified. Her and the nurse were silent when she got a notification from a game and her purse moo’ed
It’s funny how I’ve had five surgeries as a kid and it never bothered me. Now that I’m older, I get more nervous.
That’s cause when we get older we have more secrets and we finna snitch on ourselves
We're thinking of you.

I have one more day and then I have my first surgery in the morning. Super nervous, they’re removing a gland from my neck. Wish me luck!
I hope it went well!
How was it
Getting all 4 wisdom teeth and my two bottom molars out wish me luck !!!
Sameee
How did it go? I'm getting mine out in 2 weeks and I'm terrified.
FakeHoeSimmer did you have your surgery? How was it/what do you remember?

im getting my surgery soon (i still have some time) but im already so nervous :(
getting surgery tmrw and im so stressed, what if something happens and i dont wake up? (alot of people might say i obviously wont, i just like to overthink lol)
I'm getting my tonsils out in April and I'm getting knocked out for it and I'm so scared but so excited because this will be my first surgery.
How’d it go? How was the anesthesia?
Why am I so scared of surgery I’m scared to waking up while they’re opening me up it’s scary feeling i never had surgery I’m very scared
Had this for my cardioversion. Very quick and painless.
I backed out today last second hate the thought of been put to sleep going for a local in two week
Hello...
I have a question...
When the doctors were removing tubes...u had some problems ???
Plzz ans
Are there any complications
I had emergency brain surgery. Two surgeries to be exact. One for obviously emergency and second for other personal reasons... but all I remember in second was counting down from 10 and I don’t remember reaching ten lol... but I woke up with a whopping headache ugh... but that’s my experience of it. I only was comfortable going consciously through the second surgery because I had a crush on my neurosurgeon lol! So that helped.
Thanks, This eases my nervousness about surgerys. That I need to get done.
Did it this year and I am planning to do it again for fun. Best feeling ever!
Best wishes to you.
The heck? Anyway good luck
I'm having surgery on Tuesday wish me luck
satisfyingslime1454 how did it go?
I'm getting dental surgery tomorrow through sedation and I'm nervous as hell. Apparently, I'm gonna be couscous during the procedure but won't feel anything. At this point, it's not even the surgery itself that's making me nervous. It's the IV. Those hurt like hell. Can't wait for it to be over.
I am also getting oral surgery. They are gonna give me laughing gas so I won’t feel anything, just feel the pressure. I have impacted canines, and I’m a bit nervous eeee
the ivs are nothing
They are fine imo, but having them in for days on end is soooooooo annoying
I woke up from anesthesia and got mad I fell asleep, I yelled “why y’all let me fall alseep?, i missed my surgery” 😂😂😂
We're sending positive vibes your way, Phill.
idk why i'm watching this. i've been under anesthesia before and i don't remember anything. january 13th i'm being put under for some major dental work. like top teeth removal, three bottom teeth removal, and a couple fillings and possibly a root canal but idk if that's happening 100% . the worst for me is getting the iv bc i really hate needles and the pain they give. i was put under for having my wisdom teeth out before so idk why i feel nervous about this. i'll also have dissolvable stitches...and i feel like i'll only be in pain for a day idk. i don't know if i'm getting pain killers even. but if not it's good that tylenol exists. wish me luck. if anyone truly cares i'll gladly do an update afterwards.
an introvert I hope everything goes well!!!
How does it feel to be put under ?
brelynn the minecraftian how’d it go? Read your comment ironically on the date you had your procedure.
brelynn the introvert how was your surgery? What do you remember?
I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. I'm kinda nervous not gonna lie
How did it go? I’m supposed to get mine out soon and I’m so nervous. I feel like I’m gonna snitch on myself and my siblings
Does it hurt
I’m getting wisdom teeth removed and my jaw is being surgically moved forward. Tomorrow. I’m nervous too
I did this yesterday for my ptosis surgery and it felt kinda good tbh 😂 my dreams were very random though, I started to wake up at the end of the procedure and once I realised what was happening I just got back to sleep.
I had a heart surgery the other day and all i remember is the surgeons saying they are gonna give me medicine then i was waking up with a small headache, feeling really sick and dizzy. It gets better as the day goes on but the dizzyness and sickness stayed for a day or so for me
We're sorry to hear this, Ashdon. If the problem persists, we encourage you to talk to your care team about your concerns.
just had a right knee manipulation and scope.
Tracey, we're sorry to hear this. You're in our thoughts.
Oh it's really not that bad. Just some happy meds and you don't even know how deep they cut you open!
Just had surgery thank god it went well.
Damn, this was 15 years ago.
Am having a leg surgery on Friday and am 10 and am scared that i might wake up during surgery or they might give me to much and I won’t wake up
Hope you’re okay 🙂
im going to get mine out soon, can i go to sleep during the operation
Sadly im getting my tooth token out but it’s not even my wisdom tooth it’s my tooth in front of my wisdom took😟it’s broken........I hate sour patch
LZR_Nessa How was it ?
@Peppa Pig I was awake too😩 I screamed because I could feel it being pulled out
I'm very high risk with anesthetics so I have to be monitored closely
Same here.
I'm getting dental surgery tomorrow. Getting sedated for the procedure. Holy I'm nervous. Hope yours went well.
Crazy.
Best wishes to you.
They have an amazing anesthesia team.
I had it today
First lots of air pressure in the mask
Then stinky smell
Then the sleeping gas
Then this start to become blurry and your ear start ringing and echoing the voice
Then your deaf and can’t hear
Then your a sleep
why was anaesthetic gas stopped? i preferred gas to needles, is the gas bad or something? i didnt have no issues with been gased out before. last time i had the needle i woke up after op unable to move my body nurse wanted me off the op bed and on to the ward bed "but i cant move" i couldnt do it they had to lift me off, it was only a temporary issue i got back to normal shortly after.
I wish I knew I'd be SO COLD upon waking up!!!!!!! I had never felt more cold!!!! :'(
last time I was put under for major ear surgery, apparently by my mom and doctor I refused to go under and punched the anesthesiologists- then after when I was half awake I kept mumbling apologies apparently I remembered? But I really don’t- I felt so bad apparently I clocked him in the face pretty good- I guess I have better aim when half drugged up. Cause I can’t punch worth shit whilst awake that’s one of my experiences.
I’m just nervous I’m going to disturb others or out myself to my parents 😂
Going under is 1 of the best things. Its not like sleeping at all It’s more like your life skips forward a couple hours
It skips forward, but it seems like your surgery lasted only for a few seconds when you start to wake up.
In the patient bill of rights can I demand general anesthesia for a bone biopsy? If so, can they refuse?
Theresa, we encourage you to talk to your care team so they can address your concerns. Best wishes to you.
One word: amazing.
When I woke up from my surgery I was freaking out I never had surgery in my life the last thing I remember being told to take deep breaths
We're sorry to hear this. Best wishes to you.
@@mdanderson I'm doing better my leg is on a brace I'm sitting in my living room watching TV only problem is is that I have to get around with crutches
GUYS, I HAD ANESTHESIA TWICE THIS SUMMER AND ITS NOT THAT BAD
We're so glad you're doing well.
I had sedation when I had eye surgery, also when I had a endoscopy and a colonospecy.
My grandpa beat cancer at md Anderson his name is Marvin collins
hell no i’m not getting the surgery anymore
theres nothing to be scared of from my personal experience it feels like you black out then not even 5 seconds later you wake up im saying from my experience because i know its different for some people and the only bad thing is post-surgery pain
What was the surgery
i just had a colonoscopy a week ago and was administered a mac. i cant imagine the process being comfortable but the mac made the sleep wonderful.
Some people wake up during the surgery and cant move
I have a question what do you see while under anesthesia do you dream or is it all blackness does it seem like you have just passed on from this world or like what do you see for those few hours
You don’t dream, once the anesthesia starts, you pretty much just go dark, next thing you know you are starting to wake up which you think that was quick but you were out like how ever long the surgery is. I get the sedation next week and they said you are very relaxed and not put all the way out. I’d rather have it that way, but not sure if it’s going to seem that quick or not. My surgery is supposed to last 5-6 hours
But MD Anderson switched over to Propofol for Colonoscopy.
Not bad until they keep on telling you to open your eyes when your so tired after the operation.
being put under just feels like a blink, i remember waking up from it and just being confused, and i legit asked how long i was actually out for
I had an operation on my shoulder today. I had the weirdest sensation in my bottom as soon as it was administered! Has anyone else had such a sensation! It was like my insides were sucking itself inwards.
Is it normal to not be able to walk straight afterwards
Yes BC you're kinda drunk
I was in dreamland from memory - best feeling ever!
Is this the stuff that makes people act all weird? I’m getting my wisdom teeth pulled and I don’t want to be all weird
stufflyD bruh and the thing is you can say stuff that you don’t want to say like secrets and shit that’s why I’m scared of bruh
That’s a different type of sedation that’s laughing gas
Xxxgaming3j what’s it like numbing wise? I’m being IV sedated. But do I feel the dentists giving me local Anesthetic?
stufflyD i’m getting mine pulled next friday and they’re gonna put me under ... i want to know what to expect when i go down
Duhvinshi how did it go
im terrified im getting dental surgery and i don’t like things on my face and i wanna do the IV. not the face mask thing, but idk if i have an option
The thing is that I'm over aware of every thing and have never been artificially been put to sleep I don't know what to expect
The first time I was put under, I asked, "What does this thing do?" She said, "You'll see in a minute." Seconds later, I woke up, despite not remembering falling asleep. I was shocked. Crazy stuff.
