Do you find that still typing your notes has helped you in nursing school? A lot of people say that you should handwrite notes instead of typing them but writing them out hurts my hands and typing is faster..I would rather type them.
entirely depending on the class! although I love writing/drawing out notes for classes like anatomy & microbiology, I genuinely just don't have enough time to write it all out for nursing school level courses! It would be ideal to hand write because it helps with memorization, but it's all about learning how to time manage as well! Typing them allows me to finish the notes quicker so I have more time to actually study them :) hope this helps!
In my opinion, you can still review and absorb the information via typing as well as writing. I personally learn the same amount of info whether I type or write, however, review is much more organized and concise when my notes are typed. I usually have a scratch pad in lecture where I write down important info and main topics, but then my “study sessions” will include me going over EVERYTHING and typing up the notes (from which I will study from later). This means I go over the information 3-5 times before an exam. I also type up anki or quizlet flash cards and practice questions. :)
I would like that typing them allows you to still absorb the information as well as you have to determine what you want information you want to put in your notes by creating titles. Then you have to go back and do subtitles and include info. Then adding pictures and describing them. Typing your notes I would say is also considered studying. You are just writing what your are reading but making decisions based on the information that you are reading.
I can type notes but I don’t memorize much. On the other hand, if I write things, my Brain keeps repeating why I wrote... Wait I remember this technique! I did this for psychology. The professor was not very good at teaching. I taught myself and I feel I learned much because I did these notes. Basically I write the most important and print them. Later, I study them once again and highlight. It is fun that way.. 🦉🤍 even though psychology is sort of hard.. 😔
do you have a specific setup for pharmacy notes? I already took the class but my notes are so messy. I want to reorganize before the new semester starts. I just don’t know the best layout for it.
I do like to print them out just so I can interact with them and write little details on the side that I think would be helpful! The main thing I do after I print them is after studying and reviewing, I'll highlight things in green that I know well, yellow for things I need a little more work on, and red for stuff that I'm not getting very well/need help with. But of course, it's all personal to how you study best. Good luck studying! 🤓
AnimeKawaii5 oh congratulations what school are you going to? The reason why I asked was because I’m trying go into nursing school but I’m having a hard time.
I recorded my lecture notes for fundamentals because she test us EVERYTHING on slide and her teaching .. took me 3hrs to transcribe the notes and then I typed it up ..
Hello! You can use a transcribe feature on Microsoft Word and play your lecture recording and Word will type out the lecture! I think you can find videos on how to do this specifically. But you can let it transcribe while you do other tasks and then go back and correct any errors that were made! Hope this helps! Good luck.
Hey. I’m starting nursing school and looking for which laptop to buy. I was planning on MacBook Air. Do you think it’s a good option? Pros and cons? Thanks :)
My McBook Air is almost 9 years old now and it still works fine! I am a nursing student too, and I always carry my laptop everywhere that's why I love how light the McBook Air is.
i like to type all the key facts and figures into quizlet so i can use quizlet to test myself and play games with the information from the textbook
I used to do that when I started college, an amazing way to study as well!
I haven’t considered typing my notes. I think I’m going to try it, although I felt like I’d learn it better by writing like you said.
definitely try both styles and see which one helps you retain information better!
Love this video! Definitely gonna use these tips. I start nursing school Dec 31st. Super nervous but so excited 😬
Soooo glad it's helpful! ahhh, congratulations and goodluck! you got this :)
Thank you 😊

Typing them can help the information be more clear when you try and re read over them. Writing is good too.
