I have a tiny leak on my Ridgeline and certainly not coming from the filter housing, so thinking this might be the leaking point, I'll take a look when I'm back to my country. Thanks for sharing this!
@robburris4229 I use ultra Grey rtv. You need to clean the hole really well with brake cleaner and dry it. Then a little rtv on both sides of the washer and retighten. I've done this to countless hondas.
@@jaschalindesmith9525 just looked up. To use for seals and gaskets. I had gotten Permatex “anaerobic gasket maker” before on accident. Is this same/similar and would work also? Thanks for getting back to me! Hope it helps the algorithms.
@ thanks thought I replied earlier if so sorry. Got some Permatex “ anaerobic gasket maker 51817” do you know if this is the same/similar and or if would work? Thanks for getting back in touch.
how did you break this loose? doing it on a 2007 odyssey but theres less clearance than what youve shown and I cant get a breaker bar on it.only a 14 mm wrench.
@@nicholassanders1709 ya, they're extremely tight. I use a long wrench from underneath with the double wrench method sometimes. I've done it through wheelwell with a wrench and a pry bar to the side to lever the wrench.
How did you get all of the oil out? I cleaned the hell out of it with brake part cleaner and thought none was seeping out still, but when I started tightening it back up with rtv I could see oil seeping into the rtv Do you think I should redo it or just try it as is?
@nicholassanders1709 you can see how it does. I use compressed air and usually like a whole can of brake cleen. Spraying and blowing till it stops and stays dry.
What is the bolt for? Is there similar to the opposite side of the engine? Also might be oil pump gasket, which is another common problem with the J series engine.
I'm pretty sure that bolt is for the crank girdle. They are all along the block. That one I believe goes into an oil galley, which is why I always see them leak from that one particular bolt.
I've done it without pulling the axle. Have to get it absolutely oil free. You'll need compressed air to blow it out and rtv both sides of the washer. Tighten as tight as humanly possible by hand and done.
@@jaschalindesmith9525 When you say "Tighten as tight as humanly possible by hand and done" are you saying only hand tight, or are you saying tighten as hard as you can with wrench/breaker bar? I ask because I am unsure if you are trying to leave a space for the rtv,,,,
When you go to take it loose you will see how tight it is making it a bit difficult. Just make sure it's as tight when you're done. To clarify as tight as you can without power tools or a huge breaker bar.
I have done it without pulling axle. Have to use plenty of brake cleaner and get it absolutely oil free. Rtv both sides of washer and tighten as tight as possible by hand and done. Should take care of the leak if it was cleaned properly.

Thanks for the video. Feel this could really help me diagnose better. Great song I hear in the background.
🤘 happy wrenching. Glad you liked my video
@ thanks what the stuff you put on bolt before tightening it? Rcm or something? Could you explain a little more?

Gr8 insight. I’ll keep eye out for this.
2007 odyssey
It’s leaking oil now. I am thinking oil filter housing gasket . But could be this. Also
Good to know Sir! I ll keep an eye on this bolt of 2011 Pilot.
can you tell me how you were able to access and loosen that bolt? I can't even get to it because of it's close proximately to the axel. Thanks
@jackoreilly1 using a wrench and alot of umph. Double wrench if you need to to break it loose. It needs to go back that tight.
What the stuff you put on the bolt before fighting it? Cam or something. Please tell me more info about it. Thanks.

@nicholassanders1709 it's into an oil galley so it will take a bit of patience to get it dry.
Need to take a look at my odyssey for that leak
Can you tell the bolt size or name of it? I'm trying to find it with no results.
BOLT, FLANGE 6X35 Genuine Honda (90051P8AA00) is it correct bolt?
@gagarinchief it's right behind the passenger axle. If the video isn't helpful then I would let a mechanic take a look if you suspect it's leaking.
@@jaschalindesmith9525 can you tell me exactly what part this bolt goes into?
@gagarinchief the engine block behind the passenger axle

Of course. I always keep a tube of it in my cart. Best rtv imo
@@jaschalindesmith9525 I did it over the weekend and the oil leak is gone
