Our 2022 XC40 Recharge has been reliable. DCFC works every time on CCS1, no vibrations, USB ports work fine, only lost LTE once, though rear camera has been flaky (fixed by IHU reset) since last OTA. We have 24,000 miles on car.
Hi, Thom. Hello from Lithuania! I've decided to buy C40 instead of XC40 after your videos and don't regret anything. I really like my MY24 C40. After 5000 kilometers no any issues. The only moment is that connecting to mobile internet doesn't always happen on the first try but multimedia restart always fix that (and actually LTE connection is pretty weak). I hope dealer will fix all your remaining issues and you could enjoy your car on 100% percent. Good luck and thanks for your videos!
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying your C40. Hopefully you'll have many safe miles. cheers!
I'm sorry to hear of all the problems with your '22 C40, particularly because i've had none with my '23.
Glad to read youre enjoying yours Cary! :-)
I have same issue with vibration on high speed 140-170km/h on SPA platform S90 MY22. Best solution is dynamic wheel balancing on the car but still have a very very little vibrations on rough road
Happy to say I have no issues with my MY24 C40.
Glad to hear!
I had worsening LTE & GPS last year - sometimes for long periods. .. when I finally had time to get it into the dealer, they fixed it in a couple of hours and has been perfect since. It was the ethernet lead not firmly clicked into place on the Info head unit !! Otherwise my 2021 XC40 first edition has been excellent
Maybe this is whats wrong with my wifes car....
@@flemmingsorensen5470 my local dealer have always been excellent and friendly
Glad it's going well! As mine used to work perfect I guess the lead is connected properly but the (new) software is causing some troubles. I guess it will get better with 2.14.. I hope... thanks for watching! :-)
Hey Thom, firstly your videos have been amazing thank you. Secondly I just realised that the C40 does not have park assist of park pilot. Does it???
Thanks!! Mine has Park sensors and the 360 camera. No pilot unfortunately but I never used that on my previous Volvos.
Greetings Thom, hope all is well! I'm curious to know if Volvo provided any solutions for vibrations experienced at 100-112 kph with the c40? Thanks!
What is fix for vibration?
If you keep your phone in your pocket, make sure the port isn’t full of dust. You can use an old toothbrush to clean it out. Mine was impacted with dust and had issue before cleaning.
Noted! 😊
I’ve watched plenty of your videos because I’m very interested in buying a c40. Hesitating because of your experiences 😬
Understandable! Though, all my c40s issues are getting fixed slowly but steadily.. 😅
Our 2023 C40 is now 12 months old 27000 kms and no problems (yet).
Good! 😊
Oh really, finally a fix for the vibration thing?! I was almost giving up on this and frankly, I only trust they will be able to fix it when I drive my C40 around 100-120 and no vibration 😅 Volvo, it‘s a shame
it appears... stay tuned as with volvo you never know nowadays, haha!
My polestar has the same vibration. Can't wait to hear what they do for you
Have a 2023 C40 approaching 20K miles (over 30K km) and not experienced any vibrations. Apple CarPlay has failed to recognize a few times requiring reboot of display which has solved it each time. Charge mostly at home. Used DC only a handful of times with no connection problem. Biggest complaint is lack of quick button to keep car on for example when I run into a store and I have someone still waiting inside the car and want to jeep radio and AC on for instance.
Just press the home button below center screen
I recognize what you're saying. Opening the driver door turns off everything, which can be annoying for the passengers...
I have the identical car as you in Crystal White 2023. I have not experienced any of the issues you have had.
Glad to read! :-)
👍
i had the vibration and they changed both front axles in warranty with different upgraded ones
and did it help....?
@@thom-lov yes
Hi Thom, Do you know whether Volvo is to release a 3rd facelift for the XC90? Thank you. //Carl
yep that will come! Chinese/chrome vibes...
@@thom-lov If you were to speculate, when do you think it will happen? Thanks!
Vibration might come if you drive too close to the lane, then the car will notify you with the vibration. Did you check this maybe?
That’s not it as the lane departure symbol becomes orange when it is active. This vibration is coming through the drivetrain to the steering wheel at around 100kph. It changes depending on how rough the road surface is.
Hee Thom.
Still liking my 2023 C40. Does have the vibration you speak of. Haven’t had other issues … but I will say if that charge issue were to happen to me.. I’d not put it as nicely as you. It’d be more than…. Frustrating. I’d be furious. I don’t do many road trips but I’ve done a few and it would be very bad if it didn’t take a charge at the DC level
Well at the moment itself I'm not as friendly, haha! Hopefully I'll get it sorted. Otherwise its time for something else...
too bad the EX30 is delayed due to software issues. or maybe that's just in united states. @@thom-lov
@@cub35guy first customer cars are on the road here, i guess usa specific then. Any more details on it?
So disappointing. Was thinking about an xc40 bev but Volvo reliability always seems to be an issue. Especially given the price.
We have two MY23 V60 T6 Recharge in the household - and its the most problematic cars we have owned, since my Alfa 156 back in 2000... There are/have been multiple issues, but as such I still like the car. Unfortnately the workshop is horrible, and the dealership is arrogant and non-suportive: they simply couldnt care less. After multiple Volvos through the years, these two will be the last ones. Its such a shame, as the comfor,t design and performance is outstanding. But when (just as one example) you never had a properly functioning road sign detector, and the workshop couldnt care less, its time to move on. Im tired at basically living at the dealership. Being Danish (so "nearly" Swedish !!!), this really hurts on multiple levels. So the BIG question is, whats next? Audi (too weird interior), BMW (too ugly exterior and interior) or Mercedes (Im not that old yet)..... Volvo have a great design and comfort, but its just isnt enough. The quality and commitment must also be there,
To my knowledge no manufacturer has a reliable road sign system. But they’re forced to have it with EU regulations no matter if it works or not.
@@norbertmayer7005 I fully agree, but the strange thing here is, that it doesnt work on my wifes car - it works fine in mine. They cars are totally identical, delivered at the same time, and have the latest software updates. When I say that to the workshop, they just reply: " nah, it must just need an update". But her system has never worked, and the netconnection is often bad, hence the Google maps connection must be bad = problems when the camera cant see the sign + Google maps can advice either. Well, tomorrow it goes back to the workshop again......
I am sad to say this but when my C40 twin ultimate lease runs out I will buy a Model 3 Highland awd
Apart from the road-sign detection issues, what other issues did you have?
@@DmaelstromFrom what I recall: bad internet connection (= problems with Google Maps), creaking doors, loose screw rattling around inside the tail gate, initially one couldn’t switch between cruise control/self-driving from the steering wheel, rattling sunroof, multiple infotainment issues, cant really use the otherwise excellent sound system due to some ressonans in the right front door (same on both cars). But the thing is: I would buy the same car(s) again - if the service network was any good. It’s a really fine car, and the issues could have been solved fairly quickly, if the workshop had done their job. But the quality of the service network, is the responsibility of Volvo, and their dont seem to care the damage the current situation does to their brand name.
👏🚗🙏🚗👍🚗
In Malta, we have no LTE anymore for C40 and XC40. Not just me, literally everyone with no response from the dealership nor Volvo. Really dissappointed. Its been going on for more than 2 months now
That’s crazy! Hopefully you get that sorted soonest.. part of a functioning Volvo nowadays..
Same with one of our V60s. No help from Volvo; they dont even want to talk about it. Seems that Volvo is so much into their own hype, that they forget who is paying their salaries: us.
Return the car, that is simply unacceptable.
I remember a person on the XC40 forum saying there was no coverage for Volvo in Malta. There is an option to use your own SIM for reception in settings. Ask the dealer for help.
@@davidcottrell570 we know that we can use the tether function. The problem is that certain functions like find my car, switch on acs remotely, check car status etc wont function this way.
No need for Flitsmeister, Waze does the same things way better.
True! Good one
I have a polestar 2 with many of the same issues. Crappy cars. They released these EVs too soon.
