Cracking review Chris. I have the FAC with a 600mm barrel and a sub 12. Tuned the hell out of the FAC with different pellet weights, slugs, reg pressures, you name it. To be honest it just performs day in day out. If you miss the target it’s definitely your fault. I settled on 38ftlb with pellets not slugs. Accuracy over hitting power and if your hitting bunnies at 60 yards and the weather changes and you head to the barns for the rats just dial it down. I liked my sub 12ftlb so much I bought the FAC with the power plenum. The sub can do over 700 full power shots. Incredible kit. No hiccups, well done FX. Regards Steve.
Thank you very much for this honest review. This FX has been on my shortlist, but I have had reservations about it without being able to put my finger on it. You summed it up for me, the FX rifle becomes the hobby by necessity.
Cheers Chris, 1st review that actually discussed using the fx impact or any fx left handed with magazine set so far back.
I use an fx crown left handed and a more accurate rifle would be difficult to locate but they can't have a plenum fitted.
A compromise has always to be made, beautiful though the rifles are.
Gimlet, how do you rate the fx crown compared to other air rifles you've used. I'm thinking of buying an fac version👍
Hey Gimlet, Fellow lefthander. I couldn't agree more with your post. I too have a FX Crown (.25), for the same reasons - it is laser accurate and in my opinion is a far simpler design and a more reliable rifle. However, with the advent of longer barrels and the power plenum, I've just purchased a FX Impact MKII (.25). I receive it this week and am still a bit nervous about the protruding magazine. I have ordered the smaller MKI magazine, which I'm told will fit the MKII. Fingers crossed.

Yes, cant error might be magnified with a higher setup on paper, BUT in the real world with everything that affects accuracy, the marginally "magnified" cant error will not make any difference and isnt even measurable.
You should watch MarkandSam with their scope height video. For me, I shoot better with a higher mounted scope than one slammed as close to the barrel as possible.

Hi, thanks for sharing, very informative and very helpful of you to show the overall length of the Sniper edition. How does the standard fx moderator perform, was it silencing the report of the rifle effectively or would the rifle benefit from an aftermarket mod like a DonnyFL? Cheers
I filmed that difference but had to delete it thanks to UA-cam's algorithms thinking I was a gun manufacturer and un monetising the video. Too much time and effort goes into the videos to publish the big ones un monetised.
@@chrisparkin431 Yes it’s a shame it wasn’t included. I know that perception of sound is a subjective matter but even so, how did you rate the moderator for effective sound moderation?

That depends what you want it for, i have a 510 Extra FAC here at the moment and it's a nice gun to hunt or plink with but do like timber stocks or an aluminium rifle?
@@chrisparkin431 stock doesn't bother me so much.. it's more the weight and the shot count I'm interested in. My s510 is extremely accurate so I dont want to downgrade in that way either

What's the minimum parallax on the hawke frontier scope you have & do you dial in or use holdover.
That's not a Hawke on this rifle
I think You shoot the pellets to fast, and you'r slugs way to Slow...Try the pellets Under 900fps and the slugs over 950fps. ....good luck
.25 cal, 34gr heavies at 860fps on power setting 4 for me. Max out the power wheel for the slugs.

True with my .30 impact shoot the NSA slugs 47.5grains between 995-1000fps and when i shoot 44 o 50 grains JSB i down to 900 fps or less snf works really nice!
That need to grease the action killed the gun to me. I'm quite anal about keeping my guns in great condition, but, I like to be like that and not be led by the gun forcing me to! Lol
The weapon is perfect, but the way you toss it spins ... It's annoying

On the fence to buy impact or the maverick?..Can't decide.
Great video bud . I have had my impact for over a year and shot thousands of rounds through it . I found that mag problem with 1 out of the 6 mags I have . So my thoughts are get in touch with fx and get a replacement for that mag . They were very understanding with me and sent a replacement free of charge . That gave me great respect for them .
Ps the mag that kept messing up also allowed some of the pellets to tip over or completely flip the pellet backwards . Good luck and keep shooting .

Will any updates do anything different or address objective criticism of the previous models.
My local dealer not happy, devalued new stock with NO prior warning..just looking like on going upgrade's.
Will it sort on going air leak and seal probs, time will tell.
