Thank You David Grissom for doing this with PRS. I could never afford a DGT but I cannot say that anymore. I’m looking for my only guitar and I think I have found it. 🙏🤓
This guitar has been anticipated by so many people for a long time now. The day is finally here and I hope they ship to stores soon. I know the shop I go to has ordered some. David and PRS have done such a good job with these guitars. Every detail has been scrutinized to the point that they may be as good as the core models. David is such a great player and this guitar reflects him in the best possible way. I hope these sell a ton…..after I have one. 😉
Just got mine. MIND BLOWN!!!! I’ve owned many many nice guitars, some very expensive, but this guitar is perfect for me! Reasonable price is icing on the cake.
I’ve had mine for about three weeks now. I have some core guitars, a couple of CE guitars and some S2’s. The noise about the SE DGT isn’t hype. Within a half hour of playing mine, I was absolutely stunned by how good this is. PT Cort is making PRS guitars that really redefine how good an affordable guitar can be. Amazing!
PRS is having a new product blitz today! A DGT and a McCarty SE? A Sonzera 20? Both guitars look incredible, and it looks like they're priced the same as other SE's.
Just got mine. This guitar is instantly my #1, and it’s not just new guitar jitters. This guitar is every-damn-thing that everyone says it is. I’m just blown away at the sounds I’m getting out of this thing… and I’ve got strats, a 335, Firebird, and an LP. I might like the coil tap sound better(?) than the humbucker sounds and I absolutely love the bucker sounds Just buy it. Or don’t (because I’ll be gigging with this everywhere and I’d prefer that every guitar player on the bill didn’t have one too 😂)
I already have a PRS SE that I love. It’s really the only electric I play because it does everything and is so reliable. I don’t NEED another electric guitar. Ever. But if I do get one, it’s gotta be the DGT.
What a great guitar, the designs in PRS are made for the musician, and i LOVE that. I adore my CE24, but i think this year I'll get a DGT SE for my second guitar.
PRS is absolutely killing it right now. SE DGT and Mcarty, new Holcomb and DW etc. I was going to wait a couple years before I got another guitar... but when has that ever happened? Lol Edit: that split-coil neck sound is incredible. It sounds closer to a P90 than a strat to my ears.
I thought I'd never buy a PRS SE again. Not because they aren't good enough but because I can finally afford to buy higher end guitars and I feel like I've finally reached the point that I'm good enough to take advantage of the minor quality increases the core models have. However, this looks like a core with the SE price more than any other model in the past. So much so that I think buying a core DGT would simply be wasting money. This thing looks sharp to say the least. I can't wait to try one out.....
@@daveg4236 got it mid late Feb, played it live almost every weekend I’ve played. Added SE locking tuners really for looks as well as lamp shade knobs. Loving it!
Got mine just last week, perfect out of the box (pre setup by PRS UK, with check list). It is fantastic, the most versatile guitar I own. Coil split works great, trem is very responsive and I love the dual volumes and treble bleeds. I can pre set the volumes and go from clean bluesy to loud and dirty by going from neck to bridge as the volumes are different (so adds gain). Truly can handle anything I can throw at it. If I could only take one guitar to a gig it would be this without a doubt, as all bases would be covered.
Thank you David Grissom… The DGT core has been my go to as my most versatile guitar. I’m so glad that David and PRS have developed the affordable SE model now available to so many more guitarists that will give you great playability, fat humbucker tones, and really good single coil tones…. Well done y’all😀😀😀Rod Welles
Have just preordered mine in the McCarty Tobacco Sunburst here in the UK. Cannot wait to get my hands on one to play it. It is going to be an epic new guitar day. Thank you PRS and DG for making these finally..

Love the gold and black, and I'm a crescent moon fan, glad to see them return here. These DGT SE pickups sounds awesome, I'm not a fan of SE pickups (to where I modded mine out) but these are a very welcome exception. Great model!
Yeah, buddy! 💪Pumped to see this become a reality. I play my 2012 DGT Standard nearly every day and the versatility, tone, and feel of that instrument is unparalleled. So excited about this but, PRS, you're killing me. Every time I am like "I'm done with guitars" you guys release something that makes me have to jump back in.
I have been waiting for this one. The DGT is a dream guitar for me but as he said, I could never afford it. Now enters this! Yeah buddy! You’ve done it PRS!
I was never really a PRS guy. Just couldn’t get on to the sound of the pickups or the headstock look. I wanted to, but just couldn’t attach myself to one. I tried a core model several years ago but couldn’t connect with it. But now since checking out these DGT SE models ….just from UA-cam videos and reviews, I’m finally sold on one. And I’ve preordered one. Good on you David Grissom and PRS. A fine job.
All this has done is make me want a Core DGT. I’ve had a SE DGT for all of like 4 days now, and it’s tone and sound is amazing. NOW I want the Core. I figure if the SE sounds this good, I can imagine how good the Core DGT is!
I bought one, and I love it. But...and I'm only posting this to see if others had the same issue...for several months, I was struggling with the volume pots not having any effect on the gain (I follow the Andy Timmons mindset of using the volume pot to clean up my sound). In fact, until I reached 0-1 on the pot, it had no effect at all to the sound. I reached out to PRS, but was told something to the effect that this depends on my amp settings, and so on. However, any other guitar I used worked fine on that amp setting...pull back on the volume, the sound cleaned up. I even replaced the pots (wired the same as the guitar came) to see if it had to do with linear vs audio taper. No effect. Eventually, I pulled the wiring diagram for the core DGT and saw that my SE was wired differently, with the hot leads going directly to the 3-way toggle as opposed to lug 1 on the volume pots. As soon as I rewired the pots to match the diagram, they began working as they should. So, I'm posting this just to see if mine was a one-off wired this way (which I can only assume means it was wired incorrectly from the factory, since I bought it brand new), or if others had the same issue. Thanks.
Just got mine about 3 weeks ago (after ordering in January 2023)and used it on some gigs and love it! Still "Micro Tweaking" but I'm close!!! Guess the guy who puts on those plates fell asleep for a second after installing his 600th plate that day!!! LOL!! and 2) There's a problem removing all the strings because when you try and push down any string (I cut the strings in half and push the back half through the bridge to remove it!) they won't budge so I have to use a small Allen key to push the string through to remove it and that's all the strings!! But sometimes you just have to deal with life's challenges!! But I love the sounds I've been at home and at my gigs but one one the Venues I play is in Orlando, Fla., called "Ole Reds" (Think Blake Shelton!) and they frown on us and others bring in amps and have us go direct through their board (usually a guitarists nightmare!!), basically so we can get off quickly so the next band can set up, so I put together a pedal board and the sound men are always asking "How do you get your guitar sound like it through a tube amp?" What can I say, my PRS SE DGT and gain staging!!! But Kudos to David Grissom and PRS for putting out a winner!!!!
Very cool. My two cents on the goldtop: the black back is a small miss. Why not just make the back clear or dark like the sunburst one? Fortunately, the sunburst one is available.

I wish the demo was done with clean sound, no reverb and no compression in the audio. The body shape looks right, but the top carve looks wrong; maybe the camera angle is deceptive. Great demo. This guitar looks and sounds great, but, are we really going to see David on stage playing a 'SE' series DGT? I like this guitar and cool gold colors, but without marker-birds not ready to buy PRS...
Now PRS need to make a Tele and call it the Midnight Sky because it will be good night Fender after that.
Don’t be silly, Neville.
@@ItsJustRyan89 being silly is where dreams are made.
I Would by one in a NY minute if you make a LH model. I'd prolly be the first lefty to order it but I won't hold my breath...
Thought it was supposed to be coming out in January, dealer tells me mid March!!!
That might just be my first PRS
