I have 2 Crown 2502 amps. I have used them as mono blocks. Works great...1550wpc @8ohms was way over kill. I am now using them to power 4 12' Electro Voice subs as stereo subs @440w per sub @8ohm. I am also using 4 Behringer A800 amps. 3 of these I am using in stereo mode for 220wpc @8ohms. I am using 1 Behringer A800 in stereo mode for 220wpc @8ohm (I am only using one of these channels for my center speaker. I have a 7.4 system using a total of 6 amplifiers. I think the Crown amps are better than the Behringer Amps, but the Behringer A800's are no slouch and are 1/3 the cost of the Crown 2502's. The Behringer A800's are reference power amps that use no fans for absolute quite. They do not get hot, and are also Class D amplifiers also. The Crowns have a built in DSP that down samples to 48khz that cannot be disabled. No big issue really. Most could never tell. The Behringer's have no built-in DSP. I use the Behringer A800's with their default full bandwidth. I use separate miniDSP's to configure the phase, and frequency bandwidths to the speakers where, and when needed. I couldn't be happier with either of these brands/models amplifiers performance. I only use a fraction of their total power. They should last for years. I have gobs of dynamic over head. I use a set of BIC America Acoustech Platinum Plus series model PL-980 towers rated at 300w RMS @8ohm (750w Peak) 119 dB peak SPL each, and I use 5 BIC America Acoustech Platinum Plus series model PL-28II center channel speakers rated at 225w RMS @8ohm (500w Peak) each for my center channel, and my 4 surround channels. All main speakers, center speaker, and surround speakers are rated at 98db sensitivity, and, are also rated at 119 dB peak SPL each. My subs are rated at 400w RMS / 1600 W (peak), 129 dB peak SPL each. Movies, or music. It makes no difference. The system flat out rocks. The only draw back is that it is very easy to tell if you have bad recordings because the system is so revealing. If you are using bad speakers....you just will not get good imaging, or dynamics. I have it all on the cheap compared to systems 3x-5x the price when it comes to price vs performance. I am so lucky! Endless research, and watching endless review videos pays off.

Glad to see they're completely different units. I'm curious now about the xli series, the only difference in the specs is the weight which I'm guessing from the power supply

@@billmiller6274 I meant the differences between the different amps within the xli series. I know they're completely different, I own both a xls2502 and xli1500 and can see through the front grill.

@@ANATURALDREWSASTER which one do you prefer? Regarding sound quality, clarity. Have you tried them with Hifi loudspeakers? I am planning on pairing Crown xls 1502 with Klipsch rp 8000f

@@miroslav1845 honestly they both sound amazing, I would recommend the xli due to nothing more than cost.
