What a nice little yacht that is very well appointed for a live aboard. Everything seems to have been done properly and with an eye to detail. I have to wonder if she could be re-masted affordably to turn her back into a proper cruiser with the extended range that a good sail package would give her. I'd also wonder about possibly adding a generator and if there's a dedicated space for one and with that of course would hopefully come the ability to add AC. Truly beautiful interior that for her length seems quite large and the woodwork/joinery is stunning. Hope you're still doing well as I'm commenting a few years after this video was put out. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. Fair winds, safe travels and God Bless...
Nice boat/house. Yes, it absolutely has to be a desiccating type of de-humidifier, the other type doesn't work at all in colder weather. I used to be able to hang up damp clothes in the boat and the de-humidifier would dry them out without a trace of condensation appearing anywhere.
Hi great video I'm looking for the same boat, great space boat but what's your opinion on taking her out on voyages ? I'd want to be able to take it over to the isles of scilly is this doable in a boat like this?
Hi Ryan, eminently doable, same as any boat you have to pick your weather. Most CWs have masts, i.e. are motor sailers. Baloo never had a rig, she was only completed and launched in 2011, the owner wanted to take her to the Med through the canals. When I bought her she was in Lowestoft, a friend and I brought her round to Brighton which took about 36 hours & was a lovely trip. All the best, David.
Hi Brian, Baloo was launched in 2011 as a motor cruiser (i.e. she isn't rigged), she'll do 8 knots under engine in the right conditions so she's a plodder! Before I bought her she went across the English Channel and then down to the Mediterranean via the French canals...
My dad had a mug much like the one on your shelf. His was a bust of Churchill, which he got while stationed in England during WWII.

Loved your wee tour of your colvic. What kind of speed does she do with just the engine and what difference do the sails make when raised?
