Another Pac-Man homebrew for the Intellivision. This time it's a port of Jr. Pac-Man created by Rev from Intellivision Revolution, originally revealed as a fake prototype from 1984. Released in 2017, then again in 2018, then once again in 2021, this port contains all 7 mazes from the Arcade version, as well as 7 new, more challenging mazes exclusive to this port. There are other options for the title screen, fast mode, starting lives and starting level as well.
One thing about this homebrew I should mention is that the score and your life count are never displayed on screen except when the level is about to start, which is likely due to limitations of the system. The gameplay is overall slower paced compared to the Arcade, and the gameplay speed never increases no matter how far you are in the game. Fast Jr. does make things a bit more interesting compared to normal speed, though. The ghost AI is also very lax and not as aggressive, making them easier to manipulate, which is good for those who want something not as challenging. The bonus items, on the other hand, do not screw around, they'll make a beeline to the power pellet as soon as they spawn, so going after them quickly is recommended. The attract sequence, as well as the intermissions are also here and accounted for, though the intermissions play later than they should (after mazes 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. instead of 1, 3, 5, 7, etc.).
This is a $5 purchase if you want to get your hands on it, as the rom isn't available for free anywhere at this current moment.
Man this homebrew is very good. I know I have to pay for the rom exactly for 5 dollars. Maybe Donkey Kong Jr. Arcade for the Intellivision isn't free either as I could tell. But yeah, best homebrew game on the Intellivision dare I say!
@@ZuranimatedMedia179 Yeah, DK Jr. Arcade isn't free either. Kind of a shame, but at least it's pretty cheap.
Yeah, I mean. That's the bright side.
Very interesting, I'd love to play it. Where can I buy this ROM?
@@retrosutra I bought it at intellivision.us/revolution.php
Although I double checked the site today, and from the looks of it, they've removed their paid Intellivision Revolution roms (which includes Jr. INTV) for some strange reason (I double checked via Wayback Machine to be sure). Hopefully, they'll be back up soon.
@old80s59 Yes, I checked there yesterday and saw that, strangely, it wasn’t available. I’ve reached out to them... hopefully, I’ll have some luck. Thanks a lot for the reply!
"GIVE ME THE ROM PLEASE YOU CAN TRUST ME WITH IT"
@@andyanajonseph9399 "Sorry, you must pay 5 dollars for a port of an existing game."
@@andyanajonseph9399 Joking aside, I don't know when the rom will be available for free.
Hey. Can I please use some of your footage in my films? I will credit you for it.
@@andrewsmith6563 You're allowed to use some footage from my videos if you wish.
What About the Atari version of the Intellivision port?
@@WelcomeToLaoLaoDreamland The Atari (and Mattel) modes change the the title at the beginning of a game. In addition, infinite extra lives can be earned, unlike the Arcade mode, which only awards one per game.
@@old80s59Oh, I Though It Was Going To Be The Atari 2600 Mazes.
