This game deserve a sequel or another game with similar gameplay and battle mechanic. The fact it has a big replay value in team composition and story wise.
Since this remake doesn't NEED a healer in your team with the large quantities of healing items without even having to buy it (except Poto Oils) I'd swap Charlotte in for Riesz. She can do awesome buffs or debuffs. BUT!!! Most importantly, there will be no annoying Charlotte in your party!!
@@herogin710 nope, I finished the game perfectly fine without having to endure her presence. Just buy 99 Poto Oils at the black market for about two times in the game and you should be fine. From the top of my head the character with the highest Spirit stat will do the best healing using those Poto Oils.
Honestly, I'm watching you class recommendations, and there's just way more things to think about when picking a class or a team. Angela's classes are all not the same. Grand Diviner, for example, gets bonus damage to normal enemies and a passive none of her other classes get - restoring 15% of her mp after each battle, plus she gets excellent mp saver abilities. Basically, this lets you chain cast spells infinitely against normal mobs and you never have to attack again. Dark-side classes would have a pretty hard time doing this without the black rabite ability (which is basically received at the final hour of the game, so it shouldn't be considered). This is just an example where a preliminary analysis where we just read the class description isn't going to tell us what we really need to know.
It's definitely all opinionated! I had a blast with this build on hard difficulty, it was pretty easy but still gratifying. But please do share other builds, I'd love to get a great conversation started!
@@TheRuggedNuggets try a party with grand diviner as your main, and star lancer, and either necromancer or ninja master as your companions. No opinions with this one... normal enemies die in seconds and never runs out mana. She kills bosses pretty fast too. You have stat ups, stat downs, and elemental weaknesses to deal a lot of damage. You also have healing and lots of summons for more magic damage from reisz and charlotte. Its really powerful. Angela does thousands of damage with each spell to all enemies and she casts them very quickly. Try it
Katie Egervari I saw your comment about your party on another video and I’m glad you’re having a good time with your party. I am really enjoying Angela’s magic dmg (currently on new game plus trying her as archmage) along with riesz as dragon master (who has great atk potential and interesting dragon summon). Have you tried Kevin yet? I’m saving him for my 3rd playthrough combined with Charlotte and either riesz or Angela.
The Rugged Nuggets I have some goddess scales so I’m going to try out all the jobs for Charlotte, but I was leaning toward necromancer because throughout most of the end game I just never found myself needing much healing other than using some items. I’ll finish riesz off with her last dark, as I prefer it more than her light. Going dark with Kevin as well and just focusing on dmg.
Angela's light side actually uses less MP than her dark side after you get her light side passives. Combined with Grand Divina's MP regen after battle passive, and you can spam Lucent/Saint beam until everything dies and either lose almost no MP or gain back more than you used. Also Duran's Duelist isn't his strongest anymore, after passive skills are taken into account, Edelfrei/Swordmaster actually outdamages it due to its 30-40% bonus damage that's up at all times instead of for just Charge Attacks. Moon and Leaf sabers are also IMO better than dark saber, since Kevin with moonsaber is virtually unkillable.
my silly need for a healer has her on the team still but i mean silver lining since i got her trophy I don't need her around on subsequent playthroughs :D
playing on hard i just chose the classes that looked the coolest. game isn't too difficult to worry about if your build is under powered or inefficient. great guide nonetheless.
I feel that Kevin, Riesz and Charlotte are the best combo. Kevin with his raw power as the Fatal Fist, Riesz as the Star Lancer to grant party buffs and Charlotte as the Sage with party healing and element swords. Did this on my 2nd playthrough (New Game +) and wiped the floor with everything in the end game. Items were mostly non existent but handy in a pinch (looking at you Dolan...).
You are doing God's work, sir. This video is so helpful; just enough explanation to make the "why and how" clear, without getting far into the weeds. 👊
lol you do Riesz dirty yo. I think a good party setup to try would be Riesz lead as Vanadis. Riesz can spam class attacks really good and her lv1class attack can succ enemies in which is amazing. Because I am suggesting Vanadis for high attack, she only has ST buffs. This makes Vanadis better for a diverse party so you can cast magic up on someone and str up on yourself, which saves casts. So her companions should be a mage and a healer. Angela fits the mage bill nicely here, as she can AOE the enemies sucked in by Riesz. For a healer I would suggest Kevin as either of his light classes. He can cast power up on himself, which saves a cast time for Riesz, and he can either charge up with Aura wave or use Multi target heal. Another very efficient party would be Riesz (Starlancer) Charlotte(Evil Shaman) and Duran(Edelfrei). Riesz casts power up and defense up, Duran Casts multi sabr, Charlotte casts Black Curse. If you want to do a mixed attack comp, Riesz(Starlancer). Riesz really is the center piece of any party and they buffed her so much in this game
A star lance, evil shaman and edelfrie party sounds really good actually... I might have to try that for my next playthrough and main riesz since you said I'm doing her dirty. Lol
@@TheRuggedNuggets we all want to do riesz a little dirty.i i've also been trying to theorycraft a party for vanadis and i think light kevin + angela(any) is way to go there.
This game was so so much fun. When I first played my party was Duran(dark), Angela(dark), Charlotte (light). My 2nd new game plus playthrough was Kevin(dark), Charlotte (dark) and Hawkeye (light) I'm currently on my 3rd new game plus playthrough with Riesz(light), Hawkeye (dark) and Angela (light). These, for me, are the best combinations because not only your party becomes OP late game but you will get MORE out of the story. And tbh alot of ppl downplay Charlotte cause of her talking but her healing can heal past your MAX HP on the light path and her dark path deals very good damage especially her spell dark curse which lowers ALL stats (only on necromancer) which is very good for bosses.
I always pick Charlotte as the third Character because you get her before the first boss. That makes the boss a lot more easy than it is already xD Her talking is a little bit annoying BUT Angela's "hiiii" is exactly the same... that's why I play with japanese voices not because of charlotte xD
I've done multiple game runs, and I have to say Angela out damages both Kevin and Duran by far. With her how I built her, she one shot's everything. She makes Hard mode look super easy.
My first playthrough was on hard with a Full Light side party. Riesz was a very jack of all trades, she was buffing the team for extra damage/defense, doing some damage with Freya and just support the other 2. Duran was the melee tank full stamina/defense, when used by AI he can dodge very well and with the healing spell he get just keep stay on the frontline by himself. Even with full defense he can do alot of damage. But the star of the show was the Full Buffed and Unlimited MP Angela that can Elemental Combo for ever! She had like 70% crit chance with 40%extra crit damage, 20% chance of free cast and regain 20mp every 5sec. I can do 6k with a Single Light Towers + And i just create those build while on the run!
I happened to choose this party setup on my NG+. My first file was the ladies' man party (Hawkeye, Riesz, and Angela). Went Nightblade, Starbuffer, and Archmage: total devastation on mobs.
Haha I picked the same characters cause they're the ones I played in the original. I went nightblade, rune seer and fenrir knight. They basically all kick enough ass I've never had any issues and I think night blade has one of the most "anime" class strikes ever haha
i already try it, riesz cant tank, and charlotte dont support very well. start over with duran as tank with provoke skill, and riesz as debuff support, since healing item is cheap dont need to waste a character to be healer. and angela as dps.
Bruh. hawkeye + Reisz + Angela = OP. Observe: Hawkeye - Ninja Master Reisz - Starlancer Angela - Magus. It puts up the best room clearing and boss damage in the game, but relies only on items for healing.
DanceTheory I did this for my first except I did grand diviner and by the end I was clearing regular Enemies in 1-2 hits. Hawkeyes stat drop plus elemental damage to all enemies is insane in the late game.
I went with Kevin, Charlotte, and Riesz. I mostly just used Charlotte, and Riesz to buff Kevin then drop bombs on everyone. Last boss was a piece of cake.
My party would sub Duran for Hawkeye. I'd use his Ninja class to debuff enemies to make Kevin's attacks deal even more damage. Then I'd make him a Nightblade in order to learn one of the three spells that cause silence.
That's actually a pretty good idea, I like Hawkeye a lot, my buddies give him a lot of crap but I don't think they're using him correctly. But the great thing about this game is that all characters can mesh well if you have a clear understanding of what kind of build you're looking for.
@@TheRuggedNuggets I view Hawkeye as the wingman or life of the party. Can do almost anything with the exceptions of buffing and healing and even makes item farming less of a chore, even in the original. Also, if you combine Duran's exclusive Provoke skill with Hawkeye's Enigma skill, you can kinda manipulate the targetting of enemy AI. Hawkeye and Reisz also have the greatest support synergy when combining her buffs with his debuffs while adding a powerhouse to the mix(or Angela). Of course in Reisz's Starlancer class, the Seraph and multitargetting buffs make a great excuse to use Hawkeye's Ninja Master class for multitargetting his debuffs. Great for crowd control.
With Kevin you don't even need Hawkeye at all, because Kevin gets "Broken Lines" skill chain, which allows him to lower defense on critical hits (The only real stat you would need to lower with Kevin on your party). Duran as Edelfrei gives insane extra damage with Saber+/Attack Saber skill line/weakness point skills so the only thing you might need are stat ups (Which Starlancer gives, while also being a decent melee fighter herself) or Healing if you are having issues surviving to deal all that damage. Or you can go the extra OP route and add Angela as 3rd Character to have the same/better damage potential on 1 character alone. XD
Lol I picked Kevin(Main), Reiz, and Hawkeye for my FIRST playthrough! Admittly I hand to go to the night market to reset thier points when classing up but I still feel I got a good team with them. Kevin is just too crazy!
My vote go to : MC Angela - mysticist, magus, spellbinder Duran - knight, liege, divine hero Charlotte - enchantress, necromancer, chaosbringer The AI of this game isn't really good so your companions won't deal that much damage whatever the class you will give them, but they still make your MC shine if you build them well. Angela as a magus can sap her own life force and the one of her party to boost her spell through the roof, also if you take her as main, you will gain during your play through a chain ability that gonna fix your mana problem and later on, start every fight with a buff to your magic attack and resist. Your go to spell is dark force or exploit vulnerabities if resistant to dark for single target, ancient curse will destroy every bosses with multiple hit boxes. Duran is there for his group heal and he can also have access to a passive ability that boost his party magic attack during combat (up to 15%). Charlotte can debuff all stats with a single spell, black curse, and have access to a passive ability that lower magic resistance of enemies (10%).
Grand Diviner/Light Class 4 Angela with Lucent Beam+ is one of the most overpowered things I’ve ever experienced in an RPG😂 I beat Anise in like 39 seconds on Hard Mode. Whenever she says “what a joke”... I feel that.
Class 4 Angelia spamming Lucent Beam+ completely wrecked the Dark Dragon AND the Anise fights and she basically had full MP by the end of both fights. I felt dirty when I saw how fast the Dark Dragon died, but MAN did it feel good being THAT overpowered.
To tell the truth, when I got the game I picked up Angela, Hawkeye and Riesz for my team. And then picked Kevin, Duran and Charlotte for the second play. Boy did they broke the game.
I played so much jrpg's that I stoped caring about op class or party. Now being older I just play for the funness of the class. It's better to play your way and ultimately you'll enjoy the game more.
I find that party good but I find Angela Riesz and Charlotte to be the best. While having Charlotte go warlock she is a walking debuff. Riesz will support while also further increasing magic dmg and debuffing for Angela. Grand diviner with lucent beam and doppelganger. Goodbye bosses. Spellbinder is better boss dmg slightly but ancient curse cast time sucks compared to lucent beam. With this setup. Mobs die before they act. And bosses melt.
so my opinion on most OP team?? Kevin- Fatal fist, Angela- Grand Divina and either Chawwotte as healer+ sabers or just fuck healz (trust me, with Angie and Kevin late game mobs and even bosses die so fast you'll hardly ever need any healing during battle) and go for Riesz-Starlancer for party buffing or Duran with his dmg + elemental sabers. sure the dark saber one has the highest base strength but dark saber is pretty much useless while the other ones are actually useful but even then ANgie is way deadlier late game and Chawwotte can also get sabers along with her OP healz
Dark/Light Duran, Light/Dark Rieze, Dark/Light Hawkeye Mass Buff, Attack Debuffs, and Sabre Magic. You wanna feel like an invincible death machine this is how roll in with triple 9s while barely taking double digit damage from even end bosses.
I don't have a lot of hours in the original, but a lot in Secret of Mana. I got this and rolled 3d6 to choose my characters. This was useful, except I got Riez instead of Kevin. Thanks for the tips.
Back in the day I would choose Duelist, Death Hand and Nightblade. They are so powerful that you barely even need a healer. In fact, I have a video in my channel killing the Black Rabbite in 3 minutes with that party. However, the game has changed so much from the original that I don't know for sure what still applies. Classes in Trials of Mana are all about how they complement each other. Having two healers, for example, is kinda useless. So with this party (Kevin Duran Charlotte), going light Kev and Duran would be kinda pointless.
I was messing around with a status effect team for the hell of it. Nightblade Hawk, Dark/Light Angela and Vanadis Riesz. PS: Who thought that Kevin Fatal Fist getting Daylight Transformation was balanced? In the original game his werewolf was already the strongest of the 4. PSS: I wouldn't ignore Edelfrei for Duran. It multi targets his saber abilities and gives you leaf and moon sabers (spellvamp and lifesteal). Pair that up with high damage Fatal Fist and you open up a third slot for whatever you want.
@@AkaiAzul that is a welcome change I'll have to swap Hawkeye in as my primary in my main playthrough then at least the story is passable, motivation understandable and dialogue isn't insufferable. Sorry as BA as Kevin is and as early as you can get Charlotte I just can't abide by their speech gimmicks Durans an idiot but it's less apparent if you pick him up after wendel and gloss over the talking about metagame concepts in universe. So Hawk, Reize, Duran it is for my first playthrough after the remake let's see if the dream still works in this edition.
My team for Seiken Densetsu 3 I usually choose Light Path Duran and promote him to the Liege, Light Path Angela and promote her to Grand Devina and for Kevin he is a Dark Path Baskar who promtes to Fetal Fist for ultimate power
My first run I went Liege Duran, Grand Diviner and Nomad. I at first wanted Paladin but Liege MT healing was so reliable. Angela Lucent Beam basically broke the game and Nomad, support skills were very good and Energy Ball works with spells to so Angela spells were even more broken. I’m doing Kevin/Charlotte/Riesz now and I’m excited to see how they turn out.
I played charlotte on first round paired with kevin for story/trophy. After first playthrouh and in newgame+ i don‘t need any healer after all and to some point no buffer. All items are buyable at the night market. So rounds1-3 story bounded teams 3-.... Fun builds,fulldmg(phy/magic), speedruns I would like some update for raising difficulty. Somehow hard, was not that hard at all. My fav team so far: Kev,Hawk,Riesz
Figures my party is the exact opposite of the one you chose. I didn't put any thought into it, I just mained Hawkeye and took the two hotties. That said, Nightblade Hawkeye tears through things like Tissue paper - especially with his debuffs and Riesz's buffs. Angela just blows stuff up on the side. IMO healers are completely debunked in this game given the absurd amount of healing items you have access to (and find everywhere).
I don't understand why everyone always talk about how strong Kevin and Duran are at dealing damages when Angela does pretty much the same. Magic has always been kinda op in these types of games and yeah of course Kevin and Duran are really good I agree but Angela can also give a heavy beating to anything in the game, not to mention the Death spell(which bypass shields by the way) that OKO any mob that is under the level of Angela. Yes she's very weak at the start and very hard to use as well at the start but when you unlock some spells, she becomes insanely good.
@@indumatipngtuber2790 True, when you play her as her ultimate light side class 4, she even gets an ability that allows her to bypass elemental restistances. Sure Black Rabite is still able to absorb light and dark but he no longer resists other elements and takes neutral damage. She indeed melts it very quickly. And of course she murders bosses in no time, even Anise herself in Hard difficulty can't last long against Angela's Lucent beam.
I accidentally ran into this but I’m glad I did I love this game and love the details you gave. But what took me out was your “damage” characters lmaooooooo.❤❤❤😂😂😂
@ The Rugged Nuggets unless they changed the classes from the famicom version for charlotte I'd suggest her dark class to unlock her dark/light(?) class (necro) which has the strongest single target debuff in the game Dark Curse, a powerful debuff that applies all 3 ATK/DEF/MGC ATK+DEF debuffs and is unresistable (meaning bosses will suffer even harder under kevins fists and durans sword)
The real most OP party in the game is Kevin, Duran, and Riesz. Dark Riesz debuffs the monsters, Dark Duran gives sabers, Dark Kevin destroys everything with his dps. Riesz can heal with Poto Oils because she has high spirit. It's op even in the original snes version. It's even the fastest party to speed through the game.
So I would up with Duelist Duran, Rune Seer Angela, and Necromancer Charlie. Endgame was letting Duran do whatever while I just used AoE spells to full clear rooms. On bosses I would use Charlie's debuff and then open up with Angela . . . At level 75 she was taking out 10% or more of the post-game boss's health with each spell. The reason is she gets an ability that buffs all spell damage by 120%, but costs everyone 5% hp per cast. With AoE heals . . . who cares?
Picked this game up a few days ago I’m really enjoying it. My set up is Angela, Hawkeye, and reisz. But I saved this video to do other play throughs and test it out another time. Thanks
Bro, Duran Swordmaster, Reisz Starlancer and Char Warlock is the way to go. Warlock by just being there can debuff like Hawkeye and she can steal heal! You get all the cool buffs from reisz so your swordmaster and later berserker has max damage! It really is the way to go! You can use Kevin over Duran for same effect essentially. When using angela as your main its still the same reisz and char, but char can be a necro for faster trash clears ... Basically Duran Kevin Angela or Hawkeye are main character 1's and reisz and Char should always be your companions. With the way debuff / buffs multiply power in this game
Honestly, there is no 1 OP party. You can build around all the focus classes - especially Angela - where they can be OP. Angela is probably the most disgusting class with Reisz and Charlotte/Hawkeye because she actually breaks the mechanics of the game.
Katie is correct. The meta ended up following SD3's meta but with a small tweak in that Angela is actually a top-tier character. After playing through the game 3 times (and a 4th coming up), all the while farming the best chain abilities to build the perfect team, I can say that the best all around team is indeed Hawkeye, Reisz, Angela, which coincidentally is also the best boss-killer team. Healing spells are negligible from the start. Items do a healer's job just as good or even better. My mantra for SD3 has always been if someone's main gimmick can be replaced by an item and do its job equally well, don't use that character. It translates well into Trials. Items are insane. The only character aside from the 3 I mentioned earlier that has a fighting chance to be included is Duran, simply because of his Attack Saber ability tree, which are not chain abilities and therefore exclusive to him. It makes his Sabers far better than Saber items, but he lacks the ability to properly get maximum usage out of them himself. Sadly, Reisz gets access to the Attack Boost and Magic Boost ability trees (also not chain abilities), as well as Good Luck and Stat Boost to make her buffs better than the buff items, so she's just the all-around better support. Attack Stance on Duran is also insanely good, but without multiple abiltiies that increases his damage to an elemental weakness... he falls slightly short. Kevin is in the same boat as Duran in terms of DPS - he can't properly exploit elemental weaknesses like Hawkeye. The kicker is, Kevin is pretty bad as a support, as his main gimmick is healing. Melee DPS AI is also worse than caster DPS AI. Charlotte is lol and shouldn't be considered outside of simply achievements, to see her story, or leveling her to rip her 1 or 2 useful chain abilities out of her so you can give them to proper characters that actually do something. This is all end-game info, and you can make any team work on any level of play, but if you want to min-max your team after a few playthroughs, stay away from Kevin or Charlotte.
@@densetsuno6487 I agree that Angela is now a top tier character, but isn"My mantra for SD3 has always been if someone's main gimmick can be replaced by an item and do its job equally well, don't use that character" contradicted by you include Hawkeye for debuffs that accessible via items> I can't understand how you landed at Hawkeye over Kevin or Angela. Both do more damage that Hawkeye in any scenario. Either you go Kevin because even with the correct saber in the day, Hawkeye might not even do more damage than Kevin (I checked, Kevin's light side 4th has more physical attack than . Or you get a real elemental damage master: Angela. Unless we're talking debuffing and clearing multiple non-boss targets, Hawkeye just isn't in the boss fighting highest damage meta. Reisz however, remains useful in that her positive buffs will outclass item usage, and also gets passive ability "All" buffs to share (physical, and I think magic) which stack on top of the already boosted active ones. And she's a physical damage dealer herself taking advantage of Eldefrei's sabers. Kevin Dark+Dark, Duran Dark+Light, Reisz Light+Dark seems to be the highest DPS combo for physical damage. Boss battle starts: cast correct saber from Duran, cast attack up all on Reisz, use item to physical defense down from Kevin, and wail on the boss. There is no other setup and everyone is running max damage (for their type) aside from stuff that may need to proc like taking more damage, or status effect on self (honestly, this is dumb). If we're talking Anise specifically, maybe swap Kevin for Angela to take care of crystals faster (casting the same elemental buff on full party won't work for first part, first phase). Charlotte is actually a sleeper hit on on the meta for DPS. Chaosmaker (4th class Dark) has DEF Down All 1 and 2, MGC Def Down All 1 and 2, and Weak Point All 1 and 2. The DEF down (magic and physical) are 7% and 10% added together so 17% buffs for each magic and physical attackers in the party, and furthermore if the damage you're doing is elemental, Weak Point All is 8% + 12% = 20%. So that's 37% increases in elemental damages of both types before you have an actual attack up, magic attack up, defense down, magic defense down buff ever applied (Saber item or magic needed for physical damage to get Weak Point to apply). Oh yeah, and the locked class ability for Chaosmaker applies magic attack/defense down (this is the actual debuff) so you don't even to cast it. Honestly, this is probably the best Angela pairing and still extremely good for any physical attacker. Charlotte is of course a slouch in damage herself, but with those shifts given to everyone else (and it still applies to her), she may more than close the gap on all other party compositions (my 2nd NG+ has this and I've been highly impressed with it).
@@EbonySeraphim Incorrect again. Hawkeye is able to get take Charlotte's chain abilities for better stat decreases, edging out items. Don't call people out for things you're wrong about. I never said Hawkeye's gimmick was stat downs anyway. His gimmick is that he does more damage to bosses than any other character. Hawkeye's 2 elemental exploiting abilities in addition to his ability to have better stat downs fills two roles, edging out Duran's Sabers role or Kevin's raw damage, easily, no question. You lose an additive 20% damage bonus for all characters, but gain Hawkeye's damage by replacing Charlotte with Hawkeye. Kevin is the worst DPS, easily, no question. There are absolutely 0 situations where Kevin outdamages Duran or Hawkeye on Anise. Zero. Additionally, Chaosmaker is bad. If you read the Stat Down abilities, it says it decreases stat downs of MOVES by x%. Chaosmaker is not a move.
Well if were getting technical, in the original game Kevin's light class get the spell Pressure Point, which gave him the stats of his wolf form during the day, the Remake its a straight up self attack buff.
Here is a build, Hawkeye as Nightblade, whatever was the alternative to Master Ninja, Riesz as Starlancer, Kevin as a healing class. You have buffs, debuffs, high Damage output overall and with Kevin healing the entire party and still kicking as a werewolf, you are set to take on the archdemon no sweat. Of course the game seems easy if you fight the Lich... Peanuts for an enemy is only bad if you are allergic. But the Dark Majesty? Now that is a good boss.
i think imma choose the Angela as my first companien , as the main character imma choose Kevin like you said and then as you recommendet imma choose Charlotte as my second companion . Also I think imma make all of them go the dark path exept maybe Charlotte cause when I play video games (for example Pokemon) I make my team always learn attack skills and not support skills . also thx that you made this video cause i was really struggling to choose my first team (even tho im planning on playing easy first) cause its gonna be my first time playing it
i figured that tanking isnt the best way to finish fight rapidly. Berserker is the way to go. I got charlotte as support priest and angela with dark path dot mage. With lvl 99 i hit the post game boss with over 20k crit on hardmode. Angelas passive "cheat" and "cheat2" are op af.
Thinking of running a Hard mode playthrough with Duran and Angela, I don't know who to bring as the third. Tempted to bring Charlotte or class Duran as Liege and bring Kevin. Starting to think of maybe taking Riesz, I'd sacrifice having Light/Dark Saber but gain Moon/Leaf with Edelfrei (Swordmaster, seriously some of the official translations) with Moon Saber I'd effectively have some self healing plus with Riesz I'd have the option of either party wide buffs or debuffs on top of Angela's magic, though I'm wonder what path to take her on.
Any chance you could give me advice? So, I'm thinking of going Liege and magus. This would give mt heal to make up for angela's hp drain as well as grab attention. I have no idea of what to use for the last slot, dragon master, star lancer and nightblade all seem very good. Which would you recommend for my main 2?
With that lineup it would depend on who you want to be your main damage dealer. Without complicating things and just going for pure enjoyment of a first playthrough, I would recommend going with nightblade or dragon master out of those choices. Likely nightblade above all. But if you want symmetry between the entire party, go starlancer for her buffs.
@@TheRuggedNuggets I decided to go with Riesz for her nukes as magus is mana hungry and gets very few aoe spells. Will be using fenrir for the permanent debuffs and bosses with multiple parts/enemies. With duran drawing attention it means the girls can use their biggest nukes without interruption and mt heal will protect the party from angela sapping their health the whole time
@@fairydust1397 Sounds good. Duran with provoke playing as a tank with those two ladies sounds like fun. Who's your primary character you'll be controlling in that build?
@@TheRuggedNuggets I'll likely swap between them but I guess I will kinda play turn based as giving commands to duran and the girls directly seems like the best choice here. Aka, I will be playing it like a turn based rpg and see the chaos ensue.
My first Team i played and i did go directly to hard. Durand-Dark-Dark-4 ( STR/STA/LUC) , Angela-Dark-Light-4 ( INT/STA/LUC), Charotte-Dark-Dark-4 (SPI/STA/INT). Never felt underpowerd but in some bossfights the AI would sometimes die and i needed to revive them, but never got a full teamwipe. Just came close at the last boss because for some reason the AI didnt Attack the Big Ball before the Aoe and alone it wasn´t possible, but i got enough health on all to survive that..
Well I think it's better to start like this Main Duran, secondary Angela, third any Main Hawkeye, secondary reize, third any Main Kevin, secondary charllote, third any If you looking fo story to be matched with each character I started game Duran and Angela story are same they facing same enemy, my Duran is gladiator class I am focusing on high damage, Angela dark class, reiz I have choosen light class as she do damage almost as Duran so I needed her to be supportive fighter
I would choose Charlotte always as third character. because you get her before the first boss fight^^ you don't need it but it makes everything so more easy :D
Just finishing up my second run (did Dur/Ang/Char 1st then Riesz/Hawk/Kev) And was gonna run Kev/Char for their story but was up in the air about the last companion so I think I'll try this build of yours out and see how strong it is firsthand! It also helps that Duran is my favorite.
I think your information in this guide is a bit out of date - as in, you've weighted some things that were super true in Seiken Densetsu 3, but given this game's added mechanics and systems are no longer true. In a few places I think you've made a mistake. I'm on my 4th new game + on this one, and I completed the original 21 times over. The layer of information missing in this guide is mostly the ability system in this game where characters in a party can unlock abilities that others can equip (even before a New Game +). And some abilities with the 'All' suffix, mean they are an aura and also apply to your active battle allies. 1) Angela may be the highest DPS in the end game over Kevin now. Grand Divina has very strong level 2 element spells that are spamable, critable, and Angela's own ability not taken from other characters just stack her damage. Level 2 spells are very quick to cast too so she's still mobile and can do this without another character needing to protect her. Magus has Ancient Curse which is just stupid amounts of straight damage in an AoE. I'm a Kevin fanboy and all of my playthroughs included him, so when I say Angela is top tier, it isn't out of bias for her. She's really that good. 2) Duran should not be Dark+Dark next to probably any other melee fighter, and certainly not Kevin. Duran's Eldefrei class (Swordmaster) has multi-target saber over single target. You will want both Kevin and Duran to have sabers and Duran to not have to cast it twice even if there's a slight reduction to the base attack damage from Duran. From what I understand, the locked abilities between the two make Eldefrei's easier to maintain. Duran Dark path also makes Charlotte's light path a terrible pick because of the overlap in Saber magic. For a third OP party you have to add Angela because she can come in unsupported (Wood Saber reaps MP for Angela), and has abilities that are great to add to melee fighters (straight damage increases to boss/non-boss monsters). Reisz on either path is also good because defense debuff or damage buffs will shift damage the same. If you consider item usage to add to what characters can't cast, choose items for buffs because those items are not NPC purchasable. 3) Kevin is really great to go Divine Fist in this game (Fatal Fist is better, I agree). It's not as good as "God Hand" in the original because that midgame (while you have 2nd class) is a smaller portion of the game now where 3rd job used to be a smaller portion, but it's still a good part and the large AoE class strike from Monk is great along with Pressure Point (self attack up buff that will stack with Werewolf form at night) make it much better than first Dark job easily. Divine Fist remains in the game with a very strong class strike in Byakko Shockwave with the newly added flaw of a long windup with the ability to completely whiff (seriously, I don't know if any other class strike can 100% miss this often). When it hits, it hits very hard though. Overall, Seiyruu Death Fist is just as strong, and easier to use to connect with. Divine Fists's ability to gain CS is unmatched so you'll be dishing class strikes (without end game items) very often.
@@f.prince6642 Ah yikes. That was something else that caught my attention with this video. In the original game, Hawkeye was maybe was the second best damage dealer at least he felt like it. I think he slips behind Duran in this one more definitively. His hits seem weaker; he doesn't match Kevin for building up CS gauge anymore (original game was pure number of hits); and most notably his AoE class strikes are just worse than Kevin's certainly, and maybe Duran (I'm on my first play through with Duran). What he has to make up for it is that his utility is improved (magic/casting), luk has more applications in the game. He hits rapidly so applying abilities that are %change on hits (usually power attack, but he can instant kill on a status effected enemy even with weak attack). I mained Hawk in my most recent completion with Reisz and controlled them 50/50 (99 Kevin AI was set to do nothing but heal). Due to the status effect requirement for instant kill, I don't think it's that great. Other characters can get 40% or 60% damage increase on status affected enemies which means they're about to get dead real fast anyways and bosses cannot get any negative status effects so he actually has to do straight damage when it matters more. It seems like light path Hawk is improved though so I think my next play through will include him on that side.
I tested both D/L and D/D Duran in my first play through (lvl99) and it seems Eldefrei is a better DPS class overall. It crit insanely often and does not really lose to D/D on dmg in fact I really think it gives higher DPS than D/D path. Also it is quite annoying as D/D keeps losing HP from attacking.
Also about Angela....100% agree with you. Lucent Beam+ spamming is way better than Ancient Curse. Its fast, hit like truck and crit too often. IMHO the damage from firing consecutive 2-3 Lucent beam on hard mode Anise easily beats Ancient Curse (they are roughly take the same amount of time).
EbonySeraphim I went dark dark on Hawkeye and he is filthy in the late game. I’ve played on hard and I’m level 65 and still haven’t reached post game. Hawkeye is outputting more damage than my dark light Duran because I chose to make him a saber expert. Once I pop any weapon elementals Hawkeye just starts putting in work. And sure it may not be as fast of a kill but the finesse of the fighting is superb. I would 100% encourage people to try a Hawkeye main damage on Hard in this remake. So so so much fun and you still have that faint chance of getting killed by some big attacks but honestly the pressure make the playthru that much more fun. And ps I’m running no heals Hawkeye Duran and Riesz.
@ The Rugged Nuggets 1st of all great damn video, i know im hella impatient and ive been wanting some type of build recommendation. since ive been push thru the game i havent memorize all the new abilities and skills so im catching up now on whats better to use aside from my own building and knowing the original's builds so i appreciate the breakdown you provided. Kevin/Duran/Charlotte sounds fun to play tho!
When playing role playing games. I like to role play - main (swordsman for me obvious), and all hot chicks. The less clothes the more op to look at. Forget damage. A challenge for you guys to play with styles. Game is easy anyways. My as well look good while playing. :)
Duran as Paladin (For the Guard skill+Provoke combo); Angela as Magus and Riesz as Starlancer for Aura skills and Stat ups for all party (This makes both Duran even more tanky, and Angela even more Hard hitting). Some pros of this team build: • Stats ups are quite better than items (due to passive skills from Starlancer) • Provoke+Enigma; making Angela incredibly hard to die • Guard+Tomato man Chain skill (on Angela): making spells cost a lot less while not taking that much dmg, combo further increases with Magic Wound/Magic wound all Giving Angela a ton more damage while barely receiving dmg herself. And you can make this even bigger, if you add Damage SP skill line on Duran to Abuse Glint Sword continuously.
Chalotte sage and Duran Edelfrie stack up ablities with weak point, attack saber, attack up all, and offensive stance is insanely op. you can just one combo to finish half of last boss hp
Duran dark light. All basic saber spells to all members. Kevin lihht light. Extra CS on battle and great support damager. Riesz. Best support in the game. Period.
Kevin, Reisz, and Charlotte is a better team in my opinion. Reisz and Charlotte have passive that boost the teams attack by 37%. The route to go for each is Fatal Fist, Star Lancer, and Sage.
That was the best party in the original game in terms of pure speed of killing bosses due to multiple attack buffs/ physical defense debuffs on enemies. I'm guessing it's close to the same in this version.
@@nessoak621 yeah that's what i read - i never played the first one but i looked up some stuff and there's not a ton of information about the game right now. I basically figured duran would buff saber magic, riesz would give everyone protection and damage buffs, and hawkeye would be the carry and although my hawkeye does a lot I feel like he doesn't take out bosses as fast as he could be - what I'm trying to get to is any help would be appreciated since idk if i'm playing hawkeye correctly. The guide said to go nightblade which i've tried out but ninja master felt stronger for some reason. Also it seems like every boss in the end game is resistant to all the elements except maybe light but none of those characters have light moves (with the builds i went.)
For duran is better for damage the dark light path the one that give múltiples Target sabers it give duran a 40% more damge for a 40% less defence. It more damage that the stats it give gladiator
Definitely good if you're new to the series. Honestly this is likely the first game of the series for a lot of people. I was actually sent a copy for the switch and I bought a ps4 copy, the switch has some performance issues with some slight frame rate issues but nothing too bad. It makes for a perfect portable experience so even with the small technical issues and the game looking better on the ps4, I would recommend the switch copy unless you plan on playing docked mostly. In that case go for the ps4.
on my second playthrough (used Duran , Angela and Charlotte first) now I'm using Kevin Hawkeye and riez, for the ability that gives you his werewolf transformation and any time of the day is that specifically from brawler or one of the 2 classes after brawler?
Great video. I watched a ton of these Trials of Mana guides and this is my favourite
The breast team is Riesz as a Fenrir Knight, Angela as a Magus, and another Riesz as a Brynhildr.
This game deserve a sequel or another game with similar gameplay and battle mechanic. The fact it has a big replay value in team composition and story wise.
Visions of Mana dropping in Summer 2024 🎉🎊👏🔥🔥🔥
You can pick Charlotte third and still have her for the big bug spider boss. You save her on the bridge and boom she joins then and there
Since this remake doesn't NEED a healer in your team with the large quantities of healing items without even having to buy it (except Poto Oils) I'd swap Charlotte in for Riesz. She can do awesome buffs or debuffs.
BUT!!! Most importantly, there will be no annoying Charlotte in your party!!
you would need charlotte in hard mode tho,
@@herogin710 nope, I finished the game perfectly fine without having to endure her presence. Just buy 99 Poto Oils at the black market for about two times in the game and you should be fine. From the top of my head the character with the highest Spirit stat will do the best healing using those Poto Oils.
Charlotte is not just a healer. She buffs the teams attack as well.
Yep. Screw charlotte. Go Reisz.
@@SephPumpkin Kevin, Charlotte and Riesz sounds very interesting... which class builds were you looking for in that setup?
My most overpowered party was duran, Angela and Riesz, though Kevin, Charlotte and hawkeye work wonders together.
Same
I played with Charlotte on the team for 10 minutes and had to start over because word how annoying she sounds...
Super close to pinning this comment 😂😂
Sometimes you have to suck it up and turn on the japanese language option
my silly need for a healer has her on the team still but i mean silver lining since i got her trophy I don't need her around on subsequent playthroughs :D
@@TheShardFenix As an Angela mainer.. yep. Went to Japanese voices.
EsperMagic literally what I did lol
playing on hard i just chose the classes that looked the coolest. game isn't too difficult to worry about if your build is under powered or inefficient. great guide nonetheless.
I really enjoy Fenrir Knight Riesz build, debuff and DPS is really fun to control.
My 2nd new game plus playthrough was Kevin(dark), Charlotte (dark) and Hawkeye (light)
I'm currently on my 3rd new game plus playthrough with Riesz(light), Hawkeye (dark) and Angela (light).
Kevin is so good and OP and he's gonna destroy everything.
He does get the Kamehameha so... Nothing else needs to be said!!!
@@asahnimusic lol he does?
Yeah, spoilers.
It's his class 4 CS
@@densetsuno6487 hidden class?
Yeah, it's after the story last boss. There's a post-game dungeon you need to unlock Class 4 to go to.
I've done multiple game runs, and I have to say Angela out damages both Kevin and Duran by far. With her how I built her, she one shot's everything. She makes Hard mode look super easy.
How did you build her?
Yes, How did you build her?
I can do 6k with a Single Light Towers +
And i just create those build while on the run!
You can choose Charlotte only on your first play through. You do not need healer on your next play throughs if you are targeting platinum.
I happened to choose this party setup on my NG+. My first file was the ladies' man party (Hawkeye, Riesz, and Angela). Went Nightblade, Starbuffer, and Archmage: total devastation on mobs.
Haha ladies man party! I like it.
Same chief.
Haha I picked the same characters cause they're the ones I played in the original. I went nightblade, rune seer and fenrir knight. They basically all kick enough ass I've never had any issues and I think night blade has one of the most "anime" class strikes ever haha
First was: All Boy team
Second playthrough: All Girl team
Future playthroughs: characters that have similar stories
i already try it, riesz cant tank, and charlotte dont support very well.
start over with duran as tank with provoke skill, and riesz as debuff support, since healing item is cheap dont need to waste a character to be healer. and angela as dps.
@@miteonmybed will try this build
Ultimate party build... is what ever you want 🗡😎⚔️
Amen to that
Bruh. hawkeye + Reisz + Angela = OP. Observe:
Hawkeye - Ninja Master
Reisz - Starlancer
Angela - Magus.
It puts up the best room clearing and boss damage in the game, but relies only on items for healing.
Or instead change Hawkeye for Charlotte Necromancer.
You will have a better balance team .
Or Duran Liege, have him be the healing battery for Angela spells also provoke is nice for keeping enemies off her so she can get the spells off.
DanceTheory I did this for my first except I did grand diviner and by the end I was clearing regular Enemies in 1-2 hits. Hawkeyes stat drop plus elemental damage to all enemies is insane in the late game.
Thanks for this video! Just now getting into the game, I'm late I know but you really cleared up some questions for me!
I went with Kevin, Charlotte, and Riesz. I mostly just used Charlotte, and Riesz to buff Kevin then drop bombs on everyone. Last boss was a piece of cake.
I totally agree with your best team. I just cleared through the game on hard difficulty, including the end game dungeon.
XD
I LOVE your enthusiasm 😄👍
Lol I picked Kevin(Main), Reiz, and Hawkeye for my FIRST playthrough! Admittly I hand to go to the night market to reset thier points when classing up but I still feel I got a good team with them. Kevin is just too crazy!
this game is the epitome of you hear for a good time not a long time
My vote go to :
MC Angela - mysticist, magus, spellbinder
Duran - knight, liege, divine hero
Charlotte - enchantress, necromancer, chaosbringer
The AI of this game isn't really good so your companions won't deal that much damage whatever the class you will give them, but they still make your MC shine if you build them well.
And kevin literally kills anise in 10 second and then one shot the dragon form of her with his ult in 1 sec
About that a UNDER 30 seconds kill NEEDS her AT lv 99 to do that.
Won me over with the "not gonna ask you to subscribe" so yeah go at it man, got a new sub here :P Great video.
ALL I NEED IS DURAN TO ATTRACT AND ABSORB ATTACKS AND ANGELA TO NUKE THE HELL OUT OF BOSSES.
Angela is absurdly strong.
Adding Kevin Duran to a party makes it OP. Sounds familiar.
So is Charlotte Kyrie then?
Lol honestly I find Charlotte and Kyrie equally annoying
I went with Duran, Riesz and Hawkeye. Pretty powerful at end game.
so my opinion on most OP team??
In this remake you never need a real healer with all those healing items just waiting to be picked up for free.
I really enjoyed this video
minor adjustment to recommended party start Duran with Kevin as second so you can access black rabite.
Fortunately, remake allows you to fight it regardless of main character choice.
They actually changed that. Everyone has access to the Black Rabite, but it's in their respective final dungeons.
Chad party build but I made Charlotte my MC like a true chad and made Duran Dark-Light and made Charlotte Dark-Dark. Good video
enjoyed the video, i would recommend to put points into durans spirt to make sure you have the sword buffs asap after first class change
My team for Seiken Densetsu 3 I usually choose Light Path Duran and promote him to the Liege, Light Path Angela and promote her to Grand Devina and for Kevin he is a Dark Path Baskar who promtes to Fetal Fist for ultimate power
Great recommendation it’s working out great for me
My first run I went Liege Duran, Grand Diviner and Nomad.
So rounds1-3 story bounded teams
3-.... Fun builds,fulldmg(phy/magic), speedruns
I would like some update for raising difficulty. Somehow hard, was not that hard at all.
My fav team so far: Kev,Hawk,Riesz
I love how Kevin turns into a furry
Me too
I'm actually thankful the 15 year old furry John Wick hasn't been lewded afaik.
Hawkeye and Reisz are made for each other pairing the debuffs and buffs together. Angela is the cherry on top there.
Great insight, Just bought the game.
Great tips, thank you! Can't wait to try this game
Can confirm, Angela is an absolute chad who melts bosses in no times flat. Not even the likes of the Black Rabite can stop her.
Sweet video and good advice and tips.
I love your video I wish you the best with your UA-cam career ❤️
I just bought this game ... but for Super Nintendo .. I can’t wait to pick my team .. even though I still don’t know who I’m choosing
this is a damn good video.
great vid! just bought the game and 4 hrs in having a great time :)
I accidentally ran into this but I’m glad I did I love this game and love the details you gave. But what took me out was your “damage” characters lmaooooooo.❤❤❤😂😂😂
I actually chose Duran's ligth path just because paladin's class strike is a mob eater, then i chose Angela dark path and Reiz light, dark, light.
@
The Rugged Nuggets unless they changed the classes from the famicom version for charlotte I'd suggest her dark class to unlock her dark/light(?) class (necro) which has the strongest single target debuff in the game Dark Curse, a powerful debuff that applies all 3 ATK/DEF/MGC ATK+DEF debuffs and is unresistable (meaning bosses will suffer even harder under kevins fists and durans sword)
Katie Egervari *laughs in wound magic bullshit* with the auto heal all, it can negate the damage. Also Charlotte can negate the damage.
@@axew3127 if your strategy is focused on healing you are probably doing it wrong. My best teams kill anise so fast they dont really take damage
Thanks for the info 😊you got a new sub
Daytime transformations!? Sure you don't want to give Kevin nuclear launch codes as well?
Well if were getting technical, in the original game Kevin's light class get the spell Pressure Point, which gave him the stats of his wolf form during the day, the Remake its a straight up self attack buff.
I so sent the worf/goku refrence to my great nephew.
I just got the game and my party are Hawkeye Kevin and Angela they seem to do pretty good.
5:20 eyy you should put a jumpscare warning
Duran Hawkeye and Riesz is the best team literally god tier .
You are missing on Dark Kevin's Sky-high damage, and Angela being a late game insane monster; though.
Ramza1987 Yeah my brothers team is Kevin , Angela, and Riesz.
Well I think it's better to start like this
Main Duran,secondary Angela,third any
Main Hawkeye,secondary reize,third any
Main Kevin,secondary charllote,third any
If you looking fo story to be matched with each character
I started game Duran and Angela story are same they facing same enemy, my Duran is gladiator class I am focusing on high damage, Angela dark class, reiz I have choosen light class as she do damage almost as Duran so I needed her to be supportive fighter
EbonySeraphim and with luck working properly I gotta see som love for my boy hawk hopefully!
Kevin is basically a ssj werewolf
Kevin Durant getting all the points yup heard that before
I was extremely close to adding a Durant reference into this video 😂

1st of all great damn video, i know im hella impatient and ive been wanting some type of build recommendation. since ive been push thru the game i havent memorize all the new abilities and skills so im catching up now on whats better to use aside from my own building and knowing the original's builds so i appreciate the breakdown you provided.
Liege Duran, Fenrir Knight Riesz, Magus Angela. Have fun.
Duran as Paladin (For the Guard skill+Provoke combo); Angela as Magus and Riesz as Starlancer for Aura skills and Stat ups for all party (This makes both Duran even more tanky, and Angela even more Hard hitting).
Some pros of this team build:
• Stats ups are quite better than items (due to passive skills from Starlancer)
• Provoke+Enigma; making Angela incredibly hard to die
• Guard+Tomato man Chain skill (on Angela): making spells cost a lot less while not taking that much dmg, combo further increases with Magic Wound/Magic wound all Giving Angela a ton more damage while barely receiving dmg herself. And you can make this even bigger, if you add Damage SP skill line on Duran to Abuse Glint Sword continuously.
I wouldn’t consider that the best team available. Having Charlotte and Duran both using Saber skills seems like a waste of potential
Chalotte sage and Duran Edelfrie stack up ablities with weak point, attack saber, attack up all, and offensive stance is insanely op. you can just one combo to finish half of last boss hp
I go Angela Duran and Riesz, Angela for aoe and damage, duran for enchants and damage, and Riesz for buffs and auras
@@BunPrince this is the team i want to do but it won't have a healer, how did you deal with that?
Duran dark light. All basic saber spells to all members. Kevin lihht light. Extra CS on battle and great support damager. Riesz. Best support in the game. Period.
Ninja star lancer and Duran either heal or Sword buff....buff debuff and hard hits
Kevin, Reisz, and Charlotte is a better team in my opinion. Reisz and Charlotte have passive that boost the teams attack by 37%. The route to go for each is Fatal Fist, Star Lancer, and Sage.
lol I was new to the game and my first squad was Duran, Riesz, hawkeye they seem fine to me
That was the best party in the original game in terms of pure speed of killing bosses due to multiple attack buffs/ physical defense debuffs on enemies.
@@theusernameicoodfind ninja master gives some really good shit tbh.
For duran is better for damage the dark light path the one that give múltiples Target sabers it give duran a 40% more damge for a 40% less defence. It more damage that the stats it give gladiator
Also is it any good on the switch can’t find it physical for switch or PS4 gonna have to go digital
I have all ready done Charlotte story ask will for riezs story so I will next Angela be for I use Duran in next play
on my second playthrough (used Duran , Angela and Charlotte first) now I'm using Kevin Hawkeye and riez, for the ability that gives you his werewolf transformation and any time of the day is that specifically from brawler or one of the 2 classes after brawler?
You back!!!!
