    Hello Simon, the use case for the zero offset now works in the latest release of NX, the June 2022 release will allow you to change the value to zero and then change it back to another value. Nice job on the video, I love see to see what you are doing.

    So this sketcher looks identical to the Solid Edge sketcher...is it?

    I had another issue with the so called "new AI".
    It was applying a vertical relation on a line because, yes, it was vertical during editing the dimensions at some point.
    Very annoying.
    BUT. The AI is not "ON" when you're outside the sketch editor.
    I bet your offset in this example would work if you edit the p0 expression when outside the sketcher and from the expression toolbox.
    Thank you.

    Which version is faster
    Nx 10 vs Nx 2027
    Specially in making solid body to pattern 1000x copies in spiral or round way......
    Some kind of texture im trying to do in tube shape

      I haven't recognized a difference. But the pattern settings and kind of feature need to be chosen properly. I'd recommend pattern face and a reduction of the number of objects.

    I understand the A.I. "hype" sells and quite clever marketing strategies for several products, and that's a perfectly legal scam, however implemented into an engineering toolbox it can become a laughable issue quite frankly. Not going to do NX and Siemens any favour long-term that's for sure, and so that'll be wiped out soon or later. Be patient.

      I agree in some points. Having some issues myself nowadays. But I have to deal with it and that is why I'm not sharing my negative opinions. Making the best out of it!

    how to pattern a solid body in siemens nx ?

      Pattern geometry can be used therefore. It's called instance geometry in older versions. Thank you for asking 😉

      Simon

    I like to be in control of what I am drawing, this thing puts constraints where it thinks they should go
    This is actually the biggest debacle I have seen in CAD software upgrades in the last 25yrs. It is costing companies many many hours. AI in CAD software is rediculous!

    • @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training
      @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training  2 роки тому

      An important improvement has been realized since NX2206, which allows you to take full control. Also NX sets proper priorities now. Anyway, the way of sketching is different. Constraints do no more exist

      @@Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training Have you tried using it for complex sketches, then coming back to edit the sketch? It relaxes important constraints without asking, constraints holding the sketch geometry together. it is beyond bad, it's absolutely aweful.

    This thing with zero dimensions makes sense, with offset it's hard to know which side was the offset intent. This should be a problem even if there was no AI detection. A dumb but quick way is to use a secondary offset, in this case -1mm and then drive the expressions off of that. It's ugly but it works

    • @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training
      @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training  2 роки тому +2

      "ugly but it works" 🤘 made my day 😅 But anyway, NX remembers the offset regarding the curve direction. Every curve has a direction. So, it shouldn't matter. Or do you have a different experience?

    • @grenoblica
      @grenoblica 2 роки тому

      @@Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training No, I had no idea NX would remember the initial offset direction. I had similar problems in inventor (of course) which doesn't know left from right. This ugly solution worked in that instance.

      I can't remember how many workaround I had to find to overcome NX misbehaviours.
      And despite some flaws, it's still my favorite CAD package by far.
      Anyway, your -1mm "ugly" solution, to my eyes is as valid (if not better ;) ) as creating point set and relations :/

    How to stop auto persistance relation creation in nx2000 & nx2015
    For example..
    I will draw a horizontal line, and I will draw another horizontal line, but both line not a colinear. If I create the dimension the both line they will create a colinear realation.

    Try using this new Sketcher in Large Legacy Sketches, just about unusable and the biggest time waster ever. Please tell me how to disable this rubbish

    • @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training
      @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training  2 роки тому

      You will have to disable it for the entire company and once a sketch has been converted, there's no way back.
      I haven't made commonly bad experiences with the new solver, especially since the latest major release. Can I ask, which nx version you are using currently?
