Just purchased a home in Barrow County for 320k, 5.6 rate. I was priced out of Gwinnett after selling my townhome. I don’t see a crash happening in this area. There is also a research center being built.
ATL real estate is experiencing delayed after effects of COVID. ATL has been a desirable place to relocate and the transplants aren’t leaving like they are in Florida and Texas. I purchased my home in Sept using GA dream and closed with a 5.875% interest rate. GA has amaaaazing first time homebuyer programs only further adding to its appeal.
@@craigr426 The beauty about metro ATL is that there is still a ton of growth. Homebuyers can take advantage of so many lucrative incentives-new construction, GA Dream, USDA loans-if you have a skilled realtor and a great broker, home ownership is a strong possibility. There are certain developed and desirable neighborhoods that you may not be able to “hack,” but there is so much potential here otherwise.
Good point! While principle and interest are fixed, the variables that you mentioned are potentially volatile. It's even affecting current homeowners who have considered selling as a result.
Every year, I have predicted real estate prices to increase, but this may be the first year that I think prices could actually come down some. The areas that will be most sustained and perhaps not see a huge hit in prices will be the areas with great schools.

Where and when is this center being built?

The Rowen Project
Great choice you made! Rowen project may take awhile, but those that buy in that area will see price appreciation.
