The only pocket that revolver would fit in is Paul Harrells jacket.
LOL More like Paul Bunyan
More like Paul Poppins.
Shrek
Paul could come out of his sock with that 460
🤣😂 you're not wrong
The more I look at these big revolvers the more I think I need one. I'm even starting to like the looks of them.
Should have run with a 2x Scope. a nice 10lb revolver. hahah
3 years later, have ya grabbed one yet? I have fun on the range with mine!
@@BNatoAk idk if he got one but i picked one up yesterday :D
@@davidyeritsyan6276Aw yeah, you liking it?
I own the S&W 460 PC 3.5". Great 'little' gun. 🙂😉🙂 On my last trip to the gun range, I fired 10 rounds of S&B 255 gr. JHP and 10 rounds of Legend 200 gr. SCHP. Those are both 460 rounds. The concussion blast of this gun caused someone's car alarm to go off with each shot. I'm absolutely not kidding. 🙂 It was pretty funny, although I imagine it irritated the poor guy with the sensitive car alarm.
Hey got a question. If you cut a 410 shell down to the right length for the cylinder, does it also fit into the 460 S&W ?
The 460 is by far the most fun I have had shooting in a long time. The experiences is far better than the 500 and 50AE
may i ask u whats different? i shot both 50ae as well as 500s&w. thinkin about buying a 460 because of the fact u can load 45lc, 454casull and 460
Of all my revolvers, I gotta admit, the 460v is probably my favorite. From the flexibility of cartridges and loads, to the absolute ease at which it shoots full power loads, its a sweet gun.
What barrel length?
@@evanshall 5"
I have been considering that one out of all the different models, this might be my go for it sign thank you sir 🫡
@@thomasdriscoll9737I've been debating over the 5" or the 7.5" ... How do you like the 5 ?
"Hickok45 here, with a little POCKET REVOLVER"
Jokes aside, I'm pretty sure all 6'9 of you could conceal that
I remember before I knew his height and hand size, thinking guns were smaller.
Is he really 6'9?
I thought he was 6'8
This fits Paul Harrell's pocket
he does make it look like a .357
Rumor has it the 2liter he shot went straight up and should be landing on moon any minute now
I would be happy if I found that thing on my kitchen table 1 morning
I hope your wife sees this….she’ll get the hint lmao
A 2L bottle?

Hickok mentioned the 460 was like a precision machine, you Sir, shoot like a precision machine, well done
Hickok45 is more important to people than he knows..especially in times like these. Thank you for the “stress relief”, from Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada
Hello fellow Ontarian
Hello from Waterloo region!
Bud's Gun Store: "So you need a new gun to fight the forces of evil?"
Hellboy: "Yeah, I loaned Hickok my Good Samaritan Pistol, and now he won't give it back."

For those of us that choose to hunt with handguns the S&W X frame revolver is the ultimate weapon. the 460 round like you so expertly described is the ultimate big game round that affords us the luxury of extending our range. I own the 14” version and i absolutely love it. Thank you for the wonderful video .
Do you have a scope for the 460 ? If so what is it ?
Web search says by a Leopold but they are out of stock.
@@anthonythorp7291 Yes sir I’m running a Leupold 4x28 with 1” tube on mine i have had it for 8 years and it has stood strong after about 500 rounds down range. FYI after tons of research i found it to be the best heavy magnum handgun scope on the market. I shoot mine out to 200 yards with great results and also it was advised to run 3 scope rings instead of 2 to make sure it stayed put lol. By the way i used Warne steel rings on mine and it has stayed in place with no issues hope this reply helps you.
@@anthonythorp7291 By the way they are available at Optics Planet right now

I bought the Performance Center 7.5" years ago for deer hunting in Ohio. I always have seasoned my barrels, right or wrong, and did the the 5 shots 4 shots all the way to 100 rounds. 250 yards it shoots flat and is extremely accurate. I was really excited for our 1st Monday after Thanksgiving season so I could see it in real life action when I received a letter from S&W recalling my pistol for an issue that would raise an issue that required the barrel needed to be replaced. I sent in a request for 100 rounds of Fusion 460 mag ammo with my pistol but received a very nice form letter when my gun was returned telling me sorry. I put the gun in my safe and have actually never fired a round since. Just lost that loving feeling for that particular pistol.
I'll take it off your hands!
@@al_wick4282 Sorry. I am a collector as well as a hunter. Maybe one of my grandsons will use it to kill a whitetail.
In August I purchased a 629V comp PC 4 inch. Finest shooting revolver I have ever laid my hands on in my life. It will spit out specials in magnums in groups tighter than I did not think I could shoot. Smithy PC rules
Hickok thanks for the vids. You have an attitude and outlook that we should all admire.
I love watching your channel, mate! You keep it real... you keep it fun... and you obviously have a genuine interest for firearms, in general!
Btw, a Springfield 1911 is one of my favourite handguns! Just feels right in my big hand.
Haha.. ‘I hear it ringin..’ That last gong shot was like a tuning fork
I've never fired a gun, but i watch your videos since 3-4 years ... The way hicock45 laughs after shooting makes me smile everytime...
Where are you from?

I have the 460V with a 5 inch muzzlebrake equipped barrel. I sent it to Smith and Wesson for a Master Revolver Package they offer and a fixed overtravel trigger stop. They also installed a florescent green front sight. Added a Bowen Classic Arms Target Rear Adjustable steel sight. Love mine!!! I use the cast bullet muzzlebrake as it shuts off the upper ports and makes the barrel a true 5 inches to me and also shoots jacketed bullets just fine. The upper port extends out in front of the barrel. Very cool looking to me.
Beautiful piece of work.
Thanks Hickock 👍
I've been shooting large bore handguns since 1973, including five different 44 Magnums and two 454 Casulls. I looked at the 460 when it first came out but was put off by it's size. 3 months ago, during a fit of Chicom 19 shutdown boredom, I dumped the Ruger SRH 454 Casull for a new S&W XVR revolver in 460 S&W Magnum with a 8 3/8" barrel. I thought about getting the 500 Mag, but already have a stockpile of 45 caliber bullets, bullet moulds, bullet sizing dies, etc.; and the 45 caliber has better bullet selection and higher ballistic coefficient weight for weight. I'm currently loading a home cast 300 grain WFNGC bullet that chronographs at 1850 FPS. That equates to 2280 #/Ft of muzzle energy, good enough for plinking, and any North American big game you want to hunt. Needless to say if you have a propensity to flinch, this is not the gun for you. In comparison, I'd say the S&W 329PD 44 magnum with HOT heavy bullet loads has more bite (sting) than the 460, but the 460 has more bark and push. The build quality of the XVR is excellent, it's highly accurate when mounted with a red dot sight, and it's fun to shoot. What more could you ask for?
I have a 2-tone version of this gun with an 8 1/2 inch barrel. It handles the recoil very well and is extremely accurate. I like the multiple cartridge flexibility. 454 Casull is my regular hunting ammo for this revolver, although pigs will usually be taken with full power 460 loads. Can't beat practice time with .45 LC. It's a real powder puff load out of this big beast. Handloading adds more flexibility to the package. Lots of good days out in the field with one gun. Yes, despite the sunshine remarks, it's still heavy. I take the good with the bad.
Man- If I we're to hold guns like that! That pressure and firepower the revolver has when you fire it is really definitive. Great video, Hickok!
The end with a JRE podcast shirt. Beautiful. Love you guys. Never change
15:06 damn that didnt even splash any soda to the ground, that was all vapor!!
The myth, The man, The legend...god bless you sir. we love you for what you do.
Good timing. Just finished watching the no4 mark 1 video.
It looks a little like those huge single action Colt Dragoons and wouldn't look too shabby with a bayonet mounted at the bottom of that huge barrel. Thanks for putting up with all my comments in here and do keep up with all the wonderful videos you put up here. Much appreciated.
The big 460, that works equally for engines and Smith & Wesson!! Nice!!
They do have special hunts in certain areas called a “short range weapon hunt” here in Idaho they require a pistol or a shotgun with slugs. Exactly the kind of thing that fine piece of hardware was made for.
i wonder if hickhock knows how much of a legend he is. like chuck norris of the gun community
I just bought my first 357. Revolver yesterday. 😁
Congrats! Plesae wear ear plugs, and muffs, you won't regret it.
I love my 686+ Great Choice!!!👍
@@EXISTENTIALization yep, 686+ is a great little firearm. I have the short barrel, (2 1/2”, I think) easy to conceal carry, packs a punch. Not very good for long distance, but for personal defense, it suits the bill. What length barrel do you have?
You did you buy? I've been eyeing the ruger gp100 7 shot 357 magnum
@@dantes.4845 I would go ruger over the 686 because of the Hillary hole
300 grain standard pressure colt .45 rounds are great plinking rounds for this gun.. feel like .38 sp..340 +p Colt hardcast..454 to full power 460 loads ..fun to step up in power ..see and feel the difference ...its a forever gun for me ..have not tried the sling 🇺🇸
Fantastic video, Hickok and John. Thanks for posting. Now THAT is a GUN!
Great! Now I gotta start saving up for one of these now.
Thank you for reviewing this revolver again! I carry the 460 with the 5 inch barrel for protection, as my job requires me to fly to remote mountain tops known to be frequented by brown / grizzly bears. I consider it the primary step in the "Charlie doesn't become bear poop" plan. My preferred ammo (don't have much choice here) is the Grizzly Cartridge 460 S&W 360gr WLNGC (Wide Lead Nose Gas Check) rounds. If that can't stop a charging brownie then I hope I'm tasty enough to make it worth the bear's effort. Like you, I've shot it single handed (both hands because why not?) but that certainly left a sting. Keep on keepin' on!
“It’s ten and a half inches... ...in barrel length”
At what point do you need a scabbard instead of a holster?
@@LogicalQ what's a scabbard
@@axemasterz501 a scabbard is like a sheath for a sword or knife
@@axemasterz501 a scabbard is this leather bag you could often see in western movies, were the cowboys store their rifles when they are on horseback.
Ok thanks
Always love a new video from Hickok!
Wish I could find one in stock somewhere on the planet
@Hickok45 this is another great video always love watching you guys put out cool content you've got our support up here in Indiana for sure 🇺🇲🇺🇲
I'm glad you have it.
It’s gorgeous. I love my 500 Magnum too
WAIT I’m here, what did I miss? It’s been 3 minutes since this has been uploaded. I can’t believe it took me so long to get here.
The S&W Performance Center handguns does an awesome job, wish I owned more, they are worth every penny extra.
I still had a trigger job done on mine. Now its they way it should of came from the factory for what it cost.
I’ll never shoot a paper target again without muttering “let’s see if it’ll go though the paper” lolol
I love letting people shoot my S&W 500 Magnum, and my Performance center .41 Magnum. I would love Hickock to rip the .41 on his range! Awesome video what a beautiful 460. Keep up the awesome content guys!
Lunchtime with hickock45, epic 💪👍
The Performance Center 7.5 inch 460 S&W magnum with a rail and extended muzzle brake is a hunters handgun supreme.
A sling hole on the frame and Bowen Classic Arms makes a lanyard ring with a screw base that replaces the screw that holds on the Hogue rubber grip on the S&W.
Using the sodas is a good visual demonstration. I've never seen the bottles explode like that in your other videos
XVR is extreme velocity revolver I have a 460XVR like that first one that you shot a year ago or whatever it was. I like the looks of the regular 8 3/8 inch 460 better than the performance center version. Actually, ammo for the 460 is easier to come by than any of the common cartridges like 9mm, 40 cal, 357 mag, 45 acp etc. I was at one of the local gun shops in the Dallas area on Saturday and they actually had on hand some S & B 460 ammo as well as several boxes of 454 Casull. I was initially planning to hunt feral hogs, but then reality set in. I'm an old codger at 74 and running around in the woods is harder than I remembered even though I can keep up, for the most part, with the younger set. After one hunt, I said screw this...too much work. My last hunt I'm afraid, unless I get to sit in a blind. BTW, I have a Galco Kodiak chest holster that is super comfortable and yet allows a very quick draw if you come across a charging grizzly if say you went fishing in Alaska for instance.
Hey got a question. If you cut a 410 shell down to the right length for the cylinder, does it also fit into the 460 S&W ?
I agree. I have an 8 3/8 barrel and I like the look much better than the shaved down barrel.
The picatinny rail milled into the top of the barrel and extended brake make it versatile.
Yes it’s a hunting revolver and that’s what you can use for.
Thank you for the video, if you can make more comparisons with different cartridges and detailed history and purpose for each gun or rifles, thanks it’s very good and educational for everyone. And also the thinking behind the military and commercial cartridges.
I just got the 8 3/8" XVR - actually saves money on ammo - after a single cylinder of 460, you really don't need or want to shoot it or anything else for a little while while your senses recover. I can't think of another gun that makes me grin and laugh so much after shooting - it's like having a stick of dynamite go off in your hand, but somehow your hand is still there afterwards.
This is a perfect candidate for some of your 230 yard gong hits!
My dream handgun is a Wyatt Earp Peace Maker. I carry a Springfield SS 1911 in .460 Roland and love it.
You love them cannons. Gets there real dang quick.
Love this VIDEO!!!! Definitely my NEXT Handgun purchase!!!!!
Mines S&W 460 with the 7.5". Buffalo bore has a round for the .460 thats at 2000fps with 2880 energy. We live in good times. Good times.
I own the 8.5” barrel version and love it it’s truly a blast to shoot
Beautiful Revolve Magnum.
Great rundown! You’re a beast!
Beautiful Revolve Magnum beautiful design.
You always make my day I love guns
Hunting with a pistol is a great challenge. Love it.
Great marksman sir! Excellent video as usual.
Wow! It really blows up those soda bottles. Nice revolver and great shooting!
Great comments about hunting. I'm not a true hunter, but my Brother is, and he bow hunts out west for elk. A lot of trips he sees bulls, but he can't get close enough for a shot. It's a part of the sport that he and many others enjoy. He has taken a lot of game and many mounts, but likes the challenge.
Awesome video! I hope to buy that same gun in late 2021. I love that gun!
Great video Hickok and John
I have the 500 version and LOVE it!
Beautiful gun!!
I'm betting the bark of that beast can be heard the next county over?
Long live the revolver; long live Hickok45!
That is one Hell of a Hand Cannon, Hickok45 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the 8.375" barrel in 460 and noticed the same thing: the barrel doesn't pull down at all. It nicely stabilized the gun - you can't even flinch. And even with hot 460s it's not that painful.
I have the 12” fluted barrel XVR Hunter performance center version and it is an absolute monster. Put a Leupold FX-II (2x20) on it for hunting and love it. Shoot the Hornady FTX 200 grains with the ballistic tips and they are flat as can be. Couldn’t be happier.
That sounds amazing
Thank you...
Looks a lot like the 500 mag.!👌
Got a gun from Buds Gun Shop... It had soda all over it!
Your Videos are great I really enjoy watching the videos. Greetings from Germany
One of the things that you didn't mention is it has a German-made rifled barrel and what I like about the 360 performance center is the compensator also takes the twist out
A Lothar Walter barrel?
Outstanding!
I have a colt junior, a NAA mini in 22 LR and a Colt single shot in 22 short. I like those almost as much as I like the big guns.
You keep safe with a great revolver like this
Perfect for concealed carry
Don't like when revolvers barrel contour don't match up with the frames contour.. but s&w, gotta love them
When the hit the orange soda I was like what the hell. Had to rewind it like 5 times wow what power.
I have this 10.5 performance center I use it for hunting whitetail. It’s incredible. Have yet to have a deer take another step very powerful enjoyable to shoot. Thanks for your video sir.
How is the recoil when shooting this revolver?
If I woke up in the morning and found that on my kitchen countertop the words I would utter would be.
“ THANK YOU GOD. “
Missed my chance to buy one from a friend about 10 years ago. He expressed his desire to sell, however, I didn’t even ask the price. He gave up on reloading in general and gave me his dies and brass. When I went back to inquire if he still wanted to sell the 460, I was sadly informed he sold it for $575. 😩
That gun is a beast
Hickok45 for RoboCop 2020!
He's almost a foot taller than me, and it still looks huge in comparison!
Add this one to my list!
Please never change
hehe magnum go: *BONG*
It's one of the best calibers because you can shoot Multiple calendars from it witch make it great for hunting anything on four legs.
The HSM bear load for the 460 is beastly. The recoil stings your hands.
At least that has been my very limited experience. It was literally the only ammo I could find in 460, and I honestly believe the box I bought was loaded with too much powder. The recoil hurt my hands and there were signs of serious over-pressure.
I have some Underwood ammo coming in soon so I'll finally have something else to compare it to.
Feels like hitting a concrete wall with a baseball bat.
@@erickeating5709 turns out my hunch was right. Those were definitely double charged. I'm lucky my gun didn't explode in my hands.
I eventually got a new box from a different lot of the HSM bear load. It had MUCH less recoil.
This is my deer hunting pistol. I killed a 10 pointer 135 yards away with this .460 SW Magnum
An old buddy of mine has a long barrel Ruger GP100 that's kind of hot rodded, nice scope and some trigger work. That's all he deer hunts with, one day I asked him why. He told me that over the years he has dropped so many deer with rifle and shotgun that it didn't feel sporting so much anymore. That was over 10 years ago, I can't tell that it made it any more challenging for him to kill deer. Some guys have all the luck.
Hey got a question. If you cut a 410 shell down to the right length for the cylinder, does it also fit into the 460 S&W ?
@@Cyotis Following logic, it should, but why would you want to do that? isn't the .410 lil shotgun shell already comically ineffective?
@buffbeezer Yeah but Paul used to hunt Grizzlies with butter knives. I'm glad he's slowed down and using guns now lol.
GashimahironChl 410 spits a light slug around 1800 fps for the right ones. Speed defeats armor. I think of a bears skull as armor. Its in the list but last 2 rounds are 300 grainers😁
Wou great fire arms!
