Andy Taylor was always a Hard Rocker at heart!!!! Plus!!!! He likes to solo!!!! Duran Duran for the most part was about songs and pop melodies!!!! He found success in Duran Duran!!!! I think 🤔 he got bored with Duran Duran and he wanted to expand on his guitar and show off his guitar chops!!!!!

I think his name is Jonathan Valen. Terry played on his 1st 2 singles, in 1986. One was for a movie & the other was for Miami Vice.
