A lot of people saying it took them around 30 tries, which I find a little suspicious so I just want to reiterate the importance of 7:40. This is not consistent AT ALL unless your body sliders are near 0, but if they are, I've been getting it pretty much every time (also for troubleshooting, you should probably be naked during the jump. Some armors might mess you up.) (also also, you might want to do a few tests next to the grace, for flat ground and quick resets) P.S. I actually kinda regret not going into more detail on the jump up to the rolling thing because it is a little tricky. To get on top of the little nub at the start I get as close as possible, jump and start moving in the air to easily land on top. Then you want to do a sprint jump, but you don't have a lot of room to start sprinting, so you can either jump in place and press and hold circle/b in the air, or open the menu/map and press and hold circle/b to prepare the sprint without having to move or backstep. Then just tilt your joystick towards where you want to go and immediately jump and that should get you up.
First of all, great video and explanation, I just did it. I'll add that you have to be naked, I tried it with armor twice and the explosion sent me back instead of forward, took the armor off and did it first try (could be a me problem though).
I have done it with armor on, but I suppose there's no reason not to do it naked, since the trajectory is based on your hitbox and some armors might be a little bulky. Thanks for the observation :D

Holy Crap dude, I have been trying to get the 7 stone for days now to no avail. All the other jump vids just did not work for me. Then I found your video and got it done on the second try. It worked, Yee Haw. Thanks, I was so frustrated I was about to quit the game. Just slow down the beginning part where you are running through the manor to get outside. Got it first try (died to the iron maiden) then took another 8 or so attempts, probably failing due to my foot misplacement. Making the character skinny really helped as well. Thanks bro.
Thank you so much! Because of you I can start the game with a +9 bloodhound fang! I can destroy the early and mid-game with ease. I was just missing that pesky somber smithing stone 7. It was was completely worth all the steps.. Plus when you let the iron maiden eat you and you end up in Volcano manor, all you have to do is go to the bridge and rest at that same grace. Such a lifesaver!
Might as well go for +10, there's a somber ancient dragon smithing stone in a chest right below the Mogh arena (so kill a shardbearer and do Varré's quest)

Tested 7/23/24, this method works. I did as instructed, setting sliders to zero and all that, and after maybe 5 or so attempts I was able to stick the landing. Cheers!
I can confirm that this does work :DDD!!!!! make sure you follow each step as perfectly shown in the video and it will work within the first couple of tries if you do everything he does :))))))

I tried > 40 times and I never came even close. The explosion causes me to immediately fall down like a rock. So it may work, but then it is EXTREMELY tricky and a matter of millisecond timing. And it certainly is very consistent... in failing. And yes, all my body sliders are at 0.
thanks it took me alot of tries but i wasnt focusing when he was talking about the timing then when i saw it did it in a few times from then and almost died from the robot but the rot didnt kill me thankfully

A thing worth adding, there is a somber 8 and 9 which are really easy to access in Caelid. North-East from the Dragonbarrow West site of grace. One of them is in the silver scarab thingy, and the other is below the hill if you go around. I don't know if you mentioned this in the video so sorry if you did Xd
I didn't even mention the somber 5 I actually picked up at 5:34 in the video. The point of this one was to single out the 7 because, for some reason, all the other ones are ridiculously easy to get super early. 1-4 are purchased through Iji, 5 is, as mentioned, right there at 5:34, 6 is easily accessible on a roof just before that, 8 and 9 are where you say and the ancient dragon one is just chilling in a chest before Mogh which you can get to by doing Varré's quest (so potentially after killing a SINGLE boss). I just don't get why they had to patch the jump for 7 ;_;
I play on series X and I think that they patch it. The jump it takes you back. The explosion makes you jump back by default. No way to jump forward. I don't know about pc or ps5, series x no way.

No quest is made uncompletable, but doing this from the start means you miss out on a few npc encounters, the main one would have been Rya in Liurnia, but you might also want to look into the movements of Diallos and Bernahl. Also it might be worth checking out castle redmane before going to altus
You need to exhaust her dialogue at Liurnia, go back and check that she's still at the gazebo. If she's not at the gazebo and not at the elevator and you've exhausted all her dialogue, she's already moved on. That should only happen if you've already loaded the volcano manor interior, in which case, you don't need her. If all else fails, you can manually climb mount gelmir, which is a bit of a pain and I recommend you Google where to go

If she's not there that can only mean that you either haven't exhausted her dialogue after giving her the necklace, or you've already loaded the volcano manor interior, so first check if you have any of the volcano manor graces on the map (volcano manor, guest hall, road of inequity, ninth mt. gelmir campsite, etc...) in which case, you're already there. Otherwise go back to the gazebo and spam through rya's dialogue until you hear the same thing again. If for some reason that doesn't work, you can manually climb mt. gelmir, just look up how to get to volcano manor from altus
It appears to me that the flask is not propelling me forward, that instead it is just blowing me straight up into the air. I did go to the roundtable and made my character as skinny as possible.

It should launch you at least in some direction and it sounds like you're hitting the edge of the ledge, but it would also really help if you could record an attempt, because that sounds really weird
Not sure exactly what you mean? If you're talking about the Dectus lift, it goes between Liurnia and Altus, Liurnia being below. Liurnia is the area with all the water.

Try the jump on level ground, best to do it next to grace. Much easier to get the feel for it then
