What a great piece of history for your collection....your passion for vintage always makes your videos light years away from anyone else I've watched. Simply your great knowledge makes you like Secretariat in the Belmont.....keep em coming
Dave congrats🎉. Thank you for sharing this splendid find. Your passion for prewar and your vast knowledge which you so generously share is so greatly appreciated by myself and so many collectors. Thanks for all the content you provide
The opening to this video cracked me up- I love you Dave hahaha. Wow man, Congratulations on the EPIC Mathewson! I know that's a huge deal for you. Glad you were able to add it to your collection!
Question. Why did the grading company graded it authentic when it should be better since no part of the card has been cut implying perfection for being handcut
Dave, congrats on your monumental pickup! 🔥🔥🔥 I believe you had shown us that card when it was in an auction case at the National and you were sharing cards you had significant interest in obtaining! So happy to hear you were able to successfully add such a unique and super cool card to your Mathewson collection! WOW! 😊👊
Dave, I am so pleased for you with these 2 recent 1910 E-UNC Christy Mathewson acquisitions!!! I can tell you're on a major "CARDBOARD CLOUD 9". Thanks for showing us and elaborating about their respective significance. You give us such an interesting window on the world of an intense vintage card collector. All the best to you, bro. --- Brian Powell P.S. To use a pigskin pun------you're my clique pick of trading card UA-camers.
Dave, I am happy for you. That is a beautiful addition to your awesome collection. Thanks for sharing it with us. I will probably never see anything like this out in the “wild”, but if I do I, at least I will know what it is and try to snag it. The knowledge you and many of the others I watch share is so much appreciated. Thank you.
What an amazing card looks fantastic could not be in a better collection or go to a better person Congrats on the absolutely monumental addition just awesome!!!
I’m so excited for you my friend. I know how stoked you were knowing you had the opportunity to possibly snag this. Congrats always makes me happy to see a collector get so excited about a add. Particularly more meaningful when a person with a collection of your caliber gets this much happiness adding a new card.
W👀W! That’s insane! You are a wealth of knowledge! I love how honest you are. I showed my Dad your video of your best Mantles. He NEVER saw the “food issue” ones in his entire life (he was born 1950). After watching some of your videos, it shows me, it’s actually better buying a great card here and there, than getting some ok cards you want all the time. I want to buy more at card shows and less online.
What a beautiful card. Nope, never seen or heard about that one. Also never see the orange one with the baseball Diamond. Great cards, thanks for showing.
That is an amazing card! Love the discussion and teaching leading up to the reveal...always appreciated... love the long discourse on You Tube cliques...lol... have a great day
LMFAO Dave I LOVE your response about the UA-cam HOF. I'm at the gym on the bike and literally busted out laughing. I think I freaked the guy next to me out a little bit.
Congrats Dave!!! Sometimes you see certain cards that just belong in a certain collection and when I saw the way you looked at this card at the National I knew this one would find its way home to you. I'm happy for you my friend.
Wow!!! Very impressive find. It’s a stunner. My question is how is it authentic if it was never cut into?? It’s virtually straight from the factory and it gets an authentic? 🤷🏻♂️
Anything cut off of something is “ A” or “ hand cut “. I agree with your sentiment though as my other card which WAS cut along the borders got a 4 “ hand cut”🤷♂️
I love your honesty and straightforwardness, re: YT HOF. I am sure it works well in your profession. Anyway, simply amazing. The amount of prewar cards is staggering. Years ago I thought most cards started in 1948. Boy was I wrong! Enjoy Dave. Christy found a good home!
Yes there is lots of clicks for that UA-cam hall of fame , not much love for hockey in the community , because I show a lot of nice and rare stuff on a regular occasion with a low sub total , thanks for sharing Dave
Conogratulations on adding a pick-up that is rare, and means so much to you (and thanks for sharing it with us). That's what collecting is all about. 👍
Not sure the validity of the following statement, but I am posting it just to read your thoughts. I was told many years ago that the black and white versions of these e-unc cards are most likely from the display rather than the box itself. Thoughts?
What black and white versions are you referring to? Baseball Bats ( 1911) does have a black and white version. There is a 1936 e unc card The one I showed is a blue tint as I noted in the video. As to your statement- I can’t say for certain…. Nor can anyone that I’m aware of
@@Bluejacket66 oh sorry, lol. I meant the baseball bats. In my head, it was obvious what I was referring to. Unfortunately there are only two of us in here and neither of us are you. Sorry for the confusion.
Hi Dave, wow what an incredible pickup, absolutely incredible. That may be one of the most unbelievable pieces I've ever seen. Just hearing the story you told, and your excitement, says it all. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for answering the question. I guess I wont feel bad for not getting a chance at a bid on that collection. Great wag the dog diversion showing the rarity of a card too.
Dave that is fantastic!!! It's nice to get something you thought you would never see again or even knew existed. I'm so happy for you to get such a incredibly rare beautiful looking Christy Mathewson!!! Enjoy my friend!
I had sent you that Mathewson a year or 2 ago. I had been watching a beautiful example for like 2 years. I really wanted it and am stupid for not grabbing it.
Man that's an awesome card. You're right never seen that anywhere! And it's black & white where the others you showed (and just the card cut-outs I've seen) have the red tint on them. Would be interested to know if any of the black & whites (even just the card cut-outs) exist for any of the other players, and what that checklist actually looks like? Congrats Dave on an awesome once-in-a-lifetime pickup!!!
Cliques exist at every level of social interaction . Every. It was a rhetorical question meant to grab the eye of the needy attention seeking content creators who seem desperate to be in the sportscard HOF….. for some reason
