- More and more people are dissatisfied with their lives and are leaving the city for the country. This is what I did 6 years ago. I had a deep longing for land of my own and a more slow-paced lifestyle.
My name is Jackie Ritz. I'm a mom, wife, blogger, farmer, herbalist, and author. Leaving the city for the country was a very difficult decision that my husband and I made in 2013...a decision that has transformed our lives and enriched us greatly.
We moved to this place, our farm, nestled away in the gorgeous region of Appalachia in North Carolina. When we started this homesteading lifestyle, we had no idea what we were doing! Through trial and error, this lifestyle has awakened something deep within me and brought out my creativity in many different ways.
I homeschool my children, write books, share content on my website, and craft various things from the materials our land and animals give me.
I've learned so much from this land, but most of all, I am incredibly grateful for all the I have.
I have no other desires than to live out my life right here with my family, my farm animals, and my gardens.
Welcome to my UA-cam channel. This channel will give you a glimpse into what life on a farm is like. It will provide recipes that you can craft with herbs and essential oils. And it will give you easy tips for cooking real and whole foods for your family.

Paypal, youtube, google, FB, Instagram etc are all opposed to the Christian, Conservative and Healthy ideas and are not shy about shutting these ideas down.

Hello, I love your story. I´m sure it was a difficult decision. I live in my city yet. Guadalajara, Mexico is its name. But now, I need to live in the country because of the pandemic. I have done a lot of research and for me the pandemic is a big lie. I am trapped in the city and I want to flee to the country for a healthier life. I know it is not easy, but it is the best decision. Because here in the city it´s going to get worse. I don´t have enough savings to buy a piece of land and start a better life. There is little time left for the things to get worse. I have enough money to build a little house and other things needed, but not for the land, they are expensive outside the city. I only need $40 000 to put the life of cheating behind me. It´s painful, but I have to do something soon. I need to get ready.
Its always been my dream to live in tge country as well.
A lot of people need to understand the beauty of this kind of rural life
I have always loved your story. You once gave me permission to use photos of your farm on my dream boards. We are debt free finally last year and now working towards finding our Texas farm so we can start working towards our long term goals.

I've never lived in a big city. When I visit one I'm always glad to get back home.
Well done to this family for moving out to the country to live a stress free, simple life, instead of living in the rat race.
May they lead a life a joy and happiness.
You can have stress in the country side rat race, as many ex and present farmers and rural people found out the hard way via farming stresses, suicide, lack of interest, etc. May those people also live a life of joy and happiness as well!
lol then there's the country people counting the days till they can get out of that isolated depressing hell
She'll be surprised when her children abandon her and move to the city when they are adults :)

During the lockdown here in toronto i spend most of the week going out of city and driving up north. I would open my car windows and drive 50 kms. The air is so fresh and the whole environnment is so refreshing and therapy. I hope i can one day escape the city life and connect back with nature and live a healthy life

I'm the opposite - I've learned to appreciate the city since living rurally and my family are blessed to have left the countryside and never looked back, in spite of the hate. We seek to live a slow-paced, loving, and peaceful life away from isolation and living in peace. :)
You have created a beautiful place and life for your family. This is my dream too.

I just bought a house in the city, and I regret it . It’s always noisy. Neighbors don’t respect property boundaries. . Now I just want to pay off the house early & move back to the country

We would love to visit your farm! We live in eastern nc. We are just starting a 10 acre homestead. We named it Little Paradise Farm. We just started home schooling our 6 children. I love y'alls story and what you are doing.
I am retiring from the Army in a couple of years. I have been seriously considering moving back home to the rural areas of Alabama, back on my parent’s farm. I am a single mom of three young kids and yearn for a simpler, slower life. I believe the children will thrive on the farm and get to live as a child with endless adventures outdoors.
Nice introduction. I'm living in Northern California finishing my crane operating career and I'm about to buy 5 to 10 acres outside of Houston to get back into nature and the slower pace of life and to raise a few animals too.

We have so many things in common such as I live on a farm, homeschool, doTerra lover, slow pace is my jam. We grow our own food and animals as well. We are a totally self employed family where we employ my husband, myself and our children. Looking forward to more videos

This is our plan too. US Navy family medically retiring too.
When I retire from Army in a few years that’s the plan for my wife and me. Our sons will eventually move out to go to college but hope they return...hoping to buy 50 acres or so, and maybe they’ll build their own homes on the property.

If they do not, I hope you will respect their own choices to find what living environment gives them peace. I'm one of those ex-country people who left and never looked back.
