Oh wow. Back in the 80,s I had two 68 Barracudas. One blue green coupe with the 340 auto.and one Black fastback with the little 273 auto. Those cars were so fun to road race with.. They cornered way better than the old 60,s Mustangs did.I got married and moved away and had to sell them both. I kick myself everyday. A lot of people think they are ugly..not me .I love the grill the most. Now the older like 64 with the huge back glass I couldn't warm up to.
My dad bought a brand new 69 1/2 440 orange 🧡 Cuda' . I drove through Kansas when we took it on Vacation. Memories sometimes last a life time . ❤️ love Cuda'
The first ‘cool’ car I ever drove was a 67 Barracuda notchback. My dad ran a gas station and rented Avis cars also. No idea what it had for a motor. Being a rental, I assume either the 273 V8 or maybe even a slant six but, to 14 year old me it might as well have been a Hemi! There was a parking lot on our way home and he would let me drive the last few miles home from there. Wishing a friend would see me driving that yellow Barracuda but, no one ever did. We lived in a very small New Hampshire coastal town and after Labor Day it was pretty much deserted. Great memory!
Very interesting video just watched it I have a 69 formula s 340 automatic barracuda that I have owned since May 1st 1975 my very first car if you would like to see it January 2005 Mopar Muscle
Plymouth rated the 340 at 275 hp. The typical dynamic output was around 350, with some tuning taking it to 370. Insurance & the Nader crowd caused some imaginative #'s. I had a 68 318, & badly wanted the 340/Formula S. They were on the market for cheap by 73, but I was 17 & could not swing the insurance. I sa an ad in Revycler for a Coronet RT Hemi asking for a station wagon in trade, no money. HARD times. If you bought an LS6 in70, it was worth almost nothing in 73. Sad.
Unreal to see this car, I remember in 1968 I was 8, my late uncle was on leave from Vietnam War, and pulled up in his Yellow 69 Barracuda fast back. The smile on his face I will always remember. Unfortunately, his smile was short live, he was killed in the Tet Offensive.
When I see cars like this, I laugh because my friend "Dusty," his mom had one. We thought it was cool for a mom to have a Barracuda and that was it! Never in a million years did I think these cars would be a "thing," 50 years later.
Beautiful Fish indeed. Formula S was a top sport version of Barracuda from 1965 to '69. These Barracudas were excellent for nimble handling and driving ease. It's really great to see such a clean piece. Nice video!
@@ctbourbon Actually not true😁 The name 'Cuda did not officially appear until 1969, although this shortened term had been used before. From 1965 to 1968, the Barracuda with the Formula S package was the sportiest version. In 1969, the 'Cuda 340 or 383 version was introduced and it could receive similar equipment as the Formula S. Everything depended on the customer's wishes. It is definitely highly debatable. On the other hand, the cuda 440 M-code was just a "'Cuda". This probably also played a role in the fact that in 1970 it was no longer on offer.

Lot cheaper to afford than a HEMI or even a BIG block engine. Very agile car and quick too. Car hugs the road. Respond to my comment if you're seriously looking for a '69 340. I might be able to locate one for ya or maybe even a '68 340. No hard sales tactics or tricks. I'll send you a classic car link you can click on.
about 50K for a solid 340 car, more for the fastback, or S. more for the 383's, hemi, or Savage 340 (if you can find one- and if you do hang onto it like the green death).
I think the current owner is exaggerating the weight considerably. A slant six 69 Cuda is probably 2900#'s, maybe. A 340 drum brake Cuda is probably more like 3300#'s, maybe 3400#'s. I have a '67 360 auto which I've never weighed, but I've got a 340 64 Dart 4spd w/headers and front disks and it's over 3400#'s. Regardless, beautiful car with lots of NOS trim installed.
No I think I remember my 71 duster weigh-in 2300 pounds I had put in a factory sunroof (if you can believe that) and the fold down seat both kind of heavy plus I think for some reason it was a dealer demo I had replaced a fender and it was heavy with sound deadener still I weighed it at a truck scale 8/34 rear and stuff I'm still freaking
Then your friend must have put a Hemi in his car because the biggest engine you could order for these were the 383 & the 440 wedge engines . The 440 Barracudas were very rare . The only Hemi available for these would have been the B029 factory Super stock drag cars that Chrysler had Hurst build for them to sell to certain drag racers like Ronnie Sox and a few other well known Mopar drag racers. These cars dominated it's class back in its day and today they have their own class as well with others that have these cars and the Hemi Darts that were also sent from Chrysler to Hurst to build those as well . These cars now today with modern wheels tires for drag racing and better suspension are running high 7 s low 8 s in the 1/4 mile with no power adders like turbos blowers or nitrous just high octane race fuel .
there was a nice 69' savage 340 running around san diego but i havent seen it for a couple of years- somebody prolly moved to texas and took it with them. i have a 68 383-S MTM fastback in the shop now- she will be sweet when she's ready. why would the door glass be peculiar to the 69's? formula S was an appearance package as well. there were no emblem deletes- you had to do it yourself. i'd like to find a rehab-able 68 hemi car, but all i've seen are trashed. come on a 68 hemi cuda would eat that thing for breakfast.
Man I wish I could get my 1977 Mustang 2 fixed it's been sitting outside for 7years and it's rusting out on me .I wish I could hurry up and help her look good again but with 380 $ a month in Ss it's going to be lost

According to Babvvo and Tebbvo laws, sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime!

DAMMM havent seen a cuda that cool in a long time
one of the best weve ever seen
Cragar was the only company making wheels for that bolt pattern. Except one obscure company.
That a cool fun fact, you really know your stuff
STUNNING!!!!!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Weve rewatched this so many times
Some one should buy that car from him,,,
one more time.
Yes lets keep the cycle going!
@@TAGCustoms the power to weight on that Barracuda is like the Corvette 327, L84. Rated at 375 hp.
Those big lifters made better cam chaft angles.
Man they dont make em like they used to, that's for sure
Modern stuff is cool but vintage will always be cooler
Such a sick car!!!!
the coolest
in the 60s we would deliver sometimes as much as 75 kilos of weed a day Mexican dirt weed in the hidden sides of this car with a garage full of kilos it was somthing back then. this was L.A.
HAHah ha, dam 75 kilos is lot of weight for anything let alone plants
I want one! Wonder how much he spent on that build!?
We dared not asl that question
Lot cheaper to afford than a HEMI or even a BIG block engine. Very agile car and quick too. Car hugs the road.
Respond to my comment if you're seriously looking for a '69 340. I might be able to locate one for ya or maybe even a '68 340. No hard sales tactics or tricks. I'll send you a classic car link you can click on.
about 50K for a solid 340 car, more for the fastback, or S. more for the 383's, hemi, or Savage 340 (if you can find one- and if you do hang onto it like the green death).
We want to HEAR IT! Let’s take it for a drive.
Thanks for the feedback we will make sure to do a extensive sound test next time
I think the current owner is exaggerating the weight considerably.
Yea the amount of NOS is truly impressive I cant imagine the hours on google trying to track it all down, from across the continent
@@jamespell8091 not believing that at all. I think you misremembered the number.
@@budlanctot3060 perhaps the scale was rigged
There was a freind ( gone now) that had a 69 hemi Cuda convertible. It was blue.
Nice car forsure
Fabulous.
Fabulous indeed
Would love to rent that beauty for a couple hours! haha
hah well ask if hes open to rentals lol
there was a nice 69' savage 340 running around san diego but i havent seen it for a couple of years- somebody prolly moved to texas and took it with them. i have a 68 383-S MTM fastback in the shop now- she will be sweet when she's ready. why would the door glass be peculiar to the 69's? formula S was an appearance package as well. there were no emblem deletes- you had to do it yourself. i'd like to find a rehab-able 68 hemi car, but all i've seen are trashed. come on a 68 hemi cuda would eat that thing for breakfast.
that MTM fastback sounds like itll be real cool when it gets finished

Good Catch 😏
Man I wish I could get my 1977 Mustang 2 fixed it's been sitting outside for 7years and it's rusting out on me .I wish I could hurry up and help her look good again but with 380 $ a month in Ss it's going to be lost
Yea it tough Watching all these old classic cars slowly fade away.
No bias ply tires huh...
wym
@@TAGCustoms the car looks so original in so many ways except for the tires, I just really like the old school look of bias ply especially if mounted on Cragar's. Either way, the car looks outstanding. I love the look of it no matter what, who wouldn't?
@@irocitZ ahh good point, thats a good catch.
Would love to take that for a joy ride!
Haha not sure if its available for "test drives"
A fancy valiant
🤣😂😂😂 haha them be fighting words, but yea your right
I have a list of muscle cars that I hope of owning one of on the list and this one and my 69 grand torino are on it and honestly I'd rather have the cuda....all my buds are chevy guys along with myself however my dream cars maybe have 2 chevys on my list lol I got 70 gto my barracuda my boss429 and I Hate ford's but love mustangs 😂 so you can see the ridicule I went through from my buds 😅 nonetheless I then say I want a 52 or 53 Porsche they laughed at me even harder.....so now I'm ready to drop a bomb shell on them when I say I want a 69 barracuda! They gasped and said ....that might be awesome lol...so my mission is to find one lovethis channel ✌🏼
oh i was hoping it wasn't a fastback
Haha what did fast backs ever do to you??
Would have been a much more beautiful car if Chrysler had spent a little money on front end style as the did later on. It had the power.
Fair point
i've never had clients complain about the front ends of the 7-8-9 cudas.....i think they look great too. when you say 'later on'- to which cars were you referring?
I've never heard the front end of 68&69 Barracuda weren't stylish even muscular. My opinion!
look up 1969 barracuda savage only 13 made
Now thats a cool car
Man they dont make em like they used to
Truly they dont,
WOOOOOOOWWW
WOOOOW to you to
It's a crime that people buy cars like this with no place to store them.
Lovely Car, you have to consider, the parts are as not plentyful
a senior citizen American trying to explain a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S to an Indian(?) Pakistani (?) Middle Eastern (?) guy? even though the foreign guy seems pretty excited, i can't imagine he understood a single thing the old guy said. i have a collection of old Barracudas - 7 of them 68-69 - all fastbacks.
Haha pretty Close Joe is Canadian tho and yes first guess was correct Nav is Indian, and yes correct not a muscle car historian
It is NOT the best Barracuda you will ever see!
According to Babvvo and Tebbvo laws, sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county.
AWWWW that is truly tragic to hear, we had no idea it was getting that strict
@@TAGCustoms In the USA California and New York state talk about very similar nightmare plans
@@Schlipperschlopper That will be a sad day forsure
That's f-ing DISGUSTING, we gotta STOP this stupid SHIT!!!
@@jerrycraig6522 Im hoping rocket power takes over before EV power lol
The only things I see that are missing are the fender mounted turn signal indicators.
It has a flat hood. No inserts! Odd..
These are nice, but it doesn't hold a candle to the 70 thru 73 cuda.
63 09 would smoke it.
Id like to watch that happen, be a good video
Awesome Barracuda!!! Check out my Barracuda fastback 512 stroker. 👍
I Cuda but I didn't want to.
Clever Pun
The best Barracuda is a 71.
What makes the 71 your favorite?
Poor build quality, rust buckets. The 60's and 70's Chrysler products were crap. I owned and drove quite a few. I can't believe the prices they're commanding.
And we have a winner for most unpopular opinion! But in all serious you have a point comparing how many old mustangs have lasted till today to old challengers is almost funny how few challengers n mopar products are still around
i just looked out my window and two old mustangs past me wait here comes a camaro they maid loads of them and if you live in a rust belt nothing holed up to salt nothing right @@TAGCustoms
That is one VERY sexy car--69 B'cuda. It's the "Elizabeth Taylor
B'cuda". 🤣😀😛
❤
Who the hell leaves a fully restored classic parked outside where mice & rats can do their thing with it?? I won't even say what I think should be done to a person like that...Grrrrr 😠.
Yea like how and why would you let something just rot away like that!? Hurts the soul
Like u shirt..
👎🏿 Thought it was going to be taken for a spin 😞
This was MY 1st favorite car back in the day ~ a few years earlier than this one
We wanted to next time well make sure we do, had spotty weather n a tight sheduale this time around
