Hi Pamela! Can you check to see if this is the problem? Do you have restrictions set up? Go to Settings/Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions/iTunes & App Store Purchases - Change Deleting Apps to Allow.

I want to select and delete an individual app.

Hey George! On the Home Screen or Appl Library push and hold on the app you want to delete. A pop up menu will appear or your apps will start to jiggle. Tap on delete app or the X in the left hand corner. Hope that helps.
