My heart goes out to this boy and his family. This is just so awful it’s hard to offer any words.
The kid was too fat. An 8th grader who weighed 325 pounds. Probably undid his own buckle but his parents will try to figure out how to blame everyone else even if that's the case.
@@terry7893 and you probably are a goofy basement-dwelling loser. How dare you try and blame this child.
@Rosco Lock exactly blame that dang place
@@terry7893 Those harnesses are suppose to lock before the ride starts. No way he could have unhooked his harness.
@Rosco Lock Your words make no sense. Maybe it is the spelling of lack of punctuation.
I can't even imagine the horror that boy experienced after being launched from his seat. Obviously more safety devices needed to be added to those seats. When the father says the pain will never go away, he is correct. My daughter was killed in a car accident in 2015, and it doesn't get better.
I'm sorry about your loss. Know she is with you always. ❤️
Sorry to hear about your daughter. Condolenses
Big Hugs!!! You will be together again. I've been waiting for over 40 years to see mine
He probably cracked the cement.
It's sad. I can't imagine losing one of my kids. As one who attempts to practice stoicism, I do try to imagine it, but can only compare it to the friends and family I have lost already. I know from losing my father that the pain doesn't go away, though. It's a hard thing to find out the hard way. Condolences and sympathy. Don't ever take life for granted, yours or anyone else's.
The fact that he was probably trying so hard to hold on, he couldn't once those brakes hit. Rest in peace brave young man, no more pain or sorrow ♥️ I hope the family and friends find peace.
i wonder if it was loose when he was being tilted at the top that would take so much strength to hold on he could have gotten tired.
i wonder if it was loose when he was being tilted at the top that would take so much strength to hold on he could have gotten tired.
No I don’t think he realized what was happening until he was already falling
He said to his friend next to him as they were going up "this thing is moving" and if anything happens to him to tell his parents "I love them". Something was clearly wrong.
It's slowed by magnets.
I know that it had to be horrifying for him to slip out of his seat and fall to his death. But, it had to also be very traumatic for whoever was sitting close by and watching it take place. Prayers going out for all who are suffering from this sudden and unexpected tragedy. RIP son.
They need to adhere to very strict rules and regulations these days so somebody failed at their job.
@@DEVILTAZ35 I blame the manufacturer. To save $, they skimped on extra safety belts.
@@StephieGsrEvolution staff and manufacturer cause yeah those seatbelts should’ve been on the ride but also the staff obviously didn’t check him properly. if you’re too big for rides like this they tell you cant go on it just in case something goes wrong like this incident.
@@aeoies multiple failures in many ways, but a safety belt would've either not fit giving him another clue not to ride or saved him. These parks need to take into account that kids are watching kids.
He ain’t slipp that harness broke because he was to big
As a ride operator, you are responsible for following rule s and safety requirements. I k ow it gets awkward to tell people they are not qualified to ride, but it has to be done or things like this will happen. He was 100+ pounds OVER the limit and if the attendant had just done his job, this poor boy would still be alive. He would have left the park sad, but alive nonetheless.
I was pretty big when I was younger, and tried to get on a ride a little like this one. Operator checked my harness three times before telling me I couldn’t get on and proceeded to escort me off. Sad to see these weren’t nearly as responsible. RIP
That boy shouldn’t have been on that ride he was too big, the fact that them workers aint realize that is sad. This coulda been avoided.
@@johnnydellz9814 right!!
True, but I have a feeling they would have gotten crap for not allowing him onboard. But still, better to get crap over it than having someone die.
That operator probably saved your life.
@@johnnydellz9814 they realized it. Maybe they were trying to give him a break.
Hate to say it, he should been rejected from getting on the ride cause of his weight. He got rejected from every other ride from what I heard. There's a reason for that. Everybody deserves to have fun if they pay for it but if it's risking lives, they should be rejected. Whether it was a malfunction, lack of secure on his seat, or if his weight caused the latch to break, the park is 100000% responsible. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Apparently earlier in the day, he wasn't allowed to go on. The employees told him no. When he tried again later, he was allowed. I have a feeling that his seat never clicked down all the way to begin with.
Yep. It's not a knock on "bigger" people but many times their bodies are too big to fit or lock these safety measures.
His seat was never secured from the pictures I’ve seen it wasn’t latched to being with
Exactly
Exactly this. THANK YOU
Of course everyone "liable" in this investigation is going to speak in favor of how safe the ride is. No one will admit to any negligence, on their part. I feel so sorry for the family of this child. This really HITS HARD 🙏💝
There's a video out where a man was videotaping his loved ones, and the young man that was supposed to secure the harnesses and do his last rounds, did not do his last rounds and check and see where the harnesses down properly and locked, the young man was heavy set and usually they push those things down so hard until they hear the click and it would have been real tight on the young man, the park worker was too busy talking to the guy that was videotaping, the young lady that was supposed to be there with him was missing in action when the guy fell and died, she came back and asked the young man did you check he hesitated and lied and said yes but he never checked go find the video.

The more safety belts and precautions the better. When will companies building these things and operating them learn that. When it comes to rides no amount of safety is ever too much. Feel for this family
They should have some kind of securement cage to make it impossible to fall out of.
@@bobby1970 I agree!!
Right!? The greed. This is something that should never ever ever be compromised or taken lightly. I could and would never ride these rides again. Don’t see how I did it when I was young but I realized I was not enjoying the fear was just toooo much and came to the conclusion MANY years ago these rides just aren’t for me.
The issue seems to be to me that the harness was never checked before it started..the workers negligence not the ride😒
Such a tragic.. SIP Tyre🕊️🕊️
How about not getting on the ride and taking the chance of something happening. Man-made machines break .

@@academyofshem he was 14, so he was a child.

The secure light was on because the kid was most likely holding the harness down enough to trigger the sensor so it appeared
to the operator that it was latched, but even then they failed to do their walk around which should be done twice before proceeding.
Granted some of the images out their now of him in the seat show the harness is clearly nowhere near being latched. Truly sickens
me that the operator didn't stop the ride and just yelled at him to secure his harness. What a massive fuck up.
ua-cam.com/video/Yqyr0QuBjXQ/v-deo.html (EXAMPLE) Showing How Effective The Seats/Harness is when properly latched (With) a heavy person.
The harness simply wasn't latched and that poor kid lost his life...
I absolutely agree with this. One of the workers was just chatting up with a group of three riders and the other guy just walked around not pulling on each seat to see if latched. You could clearly tell in the photo that his was not down between his legs. Such a senseless tragedy that could have been prevented in my opinion.
That's why I won't ride any ride that doesn't have a securement backup belt. I don't trust most ride's securement systems.
Not correct. His harness stayed down even after he was ejected. I had just finished playing miniature golf right next to the ride when he fell off. All restraints were down when the ride stopped. His was not up as it would be if it hadn’t locked.
@@jmpayne333 So the harness adjusts to the persons size before it locks ? If that's the case he was simply to big to be on the ride 100%. He was forced out because the harness couldn't come down enough to secure him. Either way the employees screwed up.
I trust nothing or anything or anybody 😁
I regretted seeing the full video. The sound of him hitting the ground was horrific. Condolences to the boy and his family.
All those people on the ride and on the ground who witnessed it are going to need therapy too for the PTSD.

@@wokejoke2675 I saw the video, the guy working there did look like he was young
I hope the kid's parents sue the hell out of the amusement park for millions, and maybe even the ride manufacturer. The ride was supposed to have a fail safe operation. I think there should be a backup securement.
You are 100% correct the employee didn't even check the riders safety this wasn't no accident
It’s a crazy fascination we have with dangerous entertainment in amusement parks. I was literally thrown from a ride as a child. Luckily a kid 10 years old saved me from a high velocity death. I have gone on rides as a adult as I was to young to be traumatized. But I remember my moms face seeing me dangling off of the ride I hope the family gets warmth and assistance in a horrible time for them..
yeah i never understood why people enjoy playing with their life. Putting all their trust in a chair 400 ft up being tilted why??? At least give everyone a parachute or something just in case the ride malfunctions, the seat unlocks... Or rides like these could have a spread out safety landing pad at the bottom.
(They could 100% design one to catch somebody in the event of a fall even with all the pressure gravity would create they could survive.) If one would have been at the bottom this boy would be alive today instead it was just pure concrete.
@@Lynn-ip9sh most Rollercoaster have those type of nets.
@@donttrickimtricky.8567 perfect idea this ride needs one of those nets heavy duty. If they can build a 400 ft drop tower and control it with a click of a button they can make a safety net.
@@Lynn-ip9sh no the ride needs to be shut down forever. Clearly missing regular safety precautions including a seat belt type fabric between the legs in case of slips. I don't understand the logic of omitting that feature unless they had a net.
@@Lynn-ip9sh also possible women or men have sued for rashes caused by the seat belt.
The people that are responsible for buckling them in and then double-checking they are 100% at fault and the park is going to pay for it but either way go no amount of money could ever replace somebody's child this was pure neglect and this is also major major prayers to the family from my family. We are heavy on amusement parks and we always dbl check everything we can

The investigation isn't even done yet and you're already blaming someone. It's possible that it was a design fault and as mentioned in another video there is no safety belt, there's just the harness up top.
Um... no. I think you’re just looking for someone to blame because you don’t like the emotions you are feeling around the senselessness of this kids death. It was just an accident. End of story. They will have a thorough investigation, of course, but the evidence is already pretty clear
This is so sad...his poor family. I haven't been able to ride anything in years but I can remember being on the whip? when my son /daughter were little. My son, who qualified height wise couldn't hold on and was fixing to fly out. And no matter how much I yelled at the operator he would not stop! I almost lost hold of him. They hire people to run carnival rides that are....sometimes sadistic. Prayers for his family...
I stopped riding amusement rides when I was on a loop-de-loop roller coaster. When it would get to the very top of the loop, it would stop for a moment and everyone would hang upside down. While we were up there, upside down, a man's harness came undone and he luckily grabbed hold of the bar next to him. He was hanging there about to fall, the ride about to start the downward descent and everything on a hair's breadth of total disaster (and death for him). We were all screaming like maniacs but it's so loud at amusement parks, the operator couldn't hear us. Finally someone on the ground heard us, looked up and RAN like a bolt of lightning to the operator. They managed to stop the ride and ever so slowly bring it down to the ground and save the guy. I really thought I was about to watch someone get killed that evening, and it traumatized me so bad I've never been back to any kind of amusement park or carnival. 😱😱😱
@@BeRightBack131 that's horrible!!! Thank G for the Observer! The operators have the job of watching and yet...
That's so scary. I'm so glad you were able to hold on to your son.
the whip… was that at kennywood?
Looks like the harness might’ve had a gap Big enough for him to fall through. You can only pull that harness down so far especially if you’re a larger person. And this was the one ride that didn’t connect the harness to the seat. That’s pretty scary considering that it leans forward so far as it’s dropping you. The weight from the G forces alone it’s a little scary to think about let alone having a larger person in the seat as well. Better seatbelts would have saved this kids life.
I don’t understand why there rides don’t have seatbelts as well as harness smh
I watched the video multiple times and it looks to me that he’s too big for the ride. If you look you can see that the shoulder harness is maybe just half way down witch explains way he slipped out.
@@mattbeese6152 How can they allow that to happen - Bad training from the Company.

@Tami F Exactly!!!
No one wants to BLAME ANYONE but Every time an INCIDENT occurs it’s HUMAN ERROR the known and unknown. SOMEONE/SOMETHING is the root cause for this tragic death. ACCOUNTABILITY
I agree. This poor kid was just having fun at an amusement park. Nobody gets on a ride thinking there is a chance they might die. It’s so heartbreaking and the ride operator’s/ park management need to be held responsible. A kid died on their watch.
Period
They will blame it on his size. Wait for it...
They already told him on previous rides he was too big. I don’t understand why they didn’t tell him on that one

A harness with an attachment seatbelt is needed for double protection. I personally wouldn’t ride high/fast amusement rides myself but for those who do double protection is necessary
I've always thought it strange that these ride operator jobs are left to teenagers, when people's lives are in danger every time they ride these coasters. I also think babysitting jobs are strange for teenagers. You're betting on a teenager to know exactly how to handle their very first emergency?
the kid in red never went over to check on his harness. Tyre kept looking for him to his left on the video. The kid kept talking o the other kids on the ride. Very sad
My heart is so heavy thinking about the impact that baby suffered he just wasn't strap down probably due to his weight please keep him in his family and prayers!!!
It wasn't due to his weight. It was due to the ride attendant not doing their job. Get it right.
@@ClockwisegenieASMR it was both
It was his weight, height, ride attendant not checking to see that his shoulder harness is not down all the way between his legs - - there was a huge gap… & he should’ve been asked to exit.
Interesting... If the attendant had done their job and checked his restraint, they would have seen the issue and asked him to leave the ride. I understand how badly you people want to victim blame, but at the end of the day this solely comes down to someone not doing their job.
@@ClockwisegenieASMR he was turned away from the same ride earlier in the day, he knew he couldn't for but his young mind just wanted to ride with his friends. That's not victim blaming its fact, we can feel for the kid and still state facts.

There are size limits on rides. I wonder what the limits were for this ride. Obviously he was a bigger kid and didn't fit properly. There also should be seatbelts. You can see that the shoulder harness isn't even clicked all the way closed before the ride even began.
Exactly you could cleary see that the harness was hoing down properly so why continue to let him be on there.
I agree and the design should accommodate for it. Like this is not the first time this s happened for the same reason. It's going to come down to size, fit, and lock. He was not secure

The ride attendants know they did not check his restraints. He was too large for the seat and pictures show the harness not fully down.
where are the pictures of the harness not fully down?
It's not all the attendants fault. They check the lights that let you know the ride is secure and it said secure. That part they did right however they should have used better judgment when they look at that seat. Clearly it was poorly secure. This goes to show you you can't always rely on machines.

Apparently this company has several of these towers including Dollywood called Drop Line - and they all have the same design. Other drop towers have that belt feature.
I used to work at a theme park for five years. How the hell does a ride like a freefall does not have seatbelts. Those rides always have seatbelts as back ups. This ride shouldn’t of been operating. Also there is a weight limit for a reason. Safety comes first. Any ride that you’re about to get on that has restraints always has seatbelts as back ups. This is crazy that they even had this ride operating to begin with.
We were just in Orlando, and yes, spring breakers were everywhere. I am so sorry for the family and for the young man.
They need to test this ride with a dummy doll that's 340 lb in 6 ft 5 in tall I believe that the weight went from negative to positive really quickly when the brakes came on which means that it can't hold that type of mass because you're Mass becomes doubled or tripled when the brakes are put on and the hydraulics gave way to that type of weight and he slipped from under the chair. I believe they will get answers when they test it with a dummy the same weight and height to see if the hydraulics can withstand that at that speed of 75 mph at a 450 drop.
No need. You can just look at his harness not coming anywhere near his shoulders and tell he shouldn’t be on the ride.
If You observe the entire situation you would realize the park is more at fault than anyone. The park owners ( ppl in charge) chose those seats for that ride. The workers/operators should have used better judgment. Even though the light was on and good to go It was a design flaw in the seats. Looking at the pictures it looks like he is barely in the seat. The people who designed those seats and bought them are truly responsible.

Yeah they can't weigh you but the way to get around this is to actually put the person in the seat to show them that it won't fit securely so they won't feel so embarrassed or discriminated against. This whole situation is just tragic
If u unfortunately saw the real video. U will see the worker seemed a bit into talking to a girl and 2 guys. He tugged and checked to make sure they were properly secured. You'll see the young boy looking around a bit confused as he probably felt it wasn't fully latched. I saw the video of the accident. It is horrible beyond belief. You see him slide out of his chair--just as the drop tower breaks apply and listen to him splatter face first into the ground at over 120 mph--then witness what appears to be his internal organs starting to slowly spill out of his left abdomen as he lies face down on the pavement, dead. This death should be considered 1st degree homicide, as well as an act of child abuse--because he suffered the "surreal terror of death." This means that this boy experienced the horrifying emotional and physical feelings of knowing you are about to die. Something horrible is going wrong and I'm about to be dead. He experienced this horrifying cognition from the moment he fell out for only 1.2 seconds before hitting the ground, but he still suffered. Hitting the ground rendered him instantly unconscious, thank God. The dazed state that doesn't seem real, but dream like, is protective, but your mind still knows reality to some extent and the horror of knowing you are about to die. Then, it's no more conscious awareness. That boy suffered! May his family get $100,000,000 and bankrupt those negligent greed driven murderers! This is sickening! Ron DeSantis will probably get legislation passed to protect amusement park ride manufactures and amusement parks from being able to be sued for negligence.

I think these chairs really need those seat belts that other company the story mentions is making ride vehicles with.
It's not just amusement rides. Some company was doing a reveal of a new electric car. They highlighted it's speed, acceleration, entertainment features, styling and more. But did not mention even ONE safety feature the entire time.
And people go on them everyday and don’t die.
@@Canev821 true. But as the case that happened here in Kansas, one decapitated child on a water slide is too many I’d say. The whole design for that one was determined to be flawed (mixed with poor maintenance and complacency) and they’re lucky it didn’t happen earlier. Hence why it got tore down. There are plenty of amazing safe tallest, fastest, etc but there are also the ones that seem over the top and rushed. That slide was delayed because of safety concerns so many times. They never should have opened it. I can’t speak on the other stuff. And plenty of accidents have happened on just normal rides too.
He was thrown from that ride because his seat was NOT secure!! It is the ride operators JOB to make sure every passenger is secure.
The saddest part is that in 2 more weeks he will be forgotten by the public
That man never walked over to his side and pull on it he was having a convo and just appeared to be checking seats but he never left the conversation this is so sad my prayers and condolences to the family

My opinion is that I think the kid was waiting for help.
if the kid in red walked over, he would have known the harness was not going to work for a person of this height
Exactly exactly I saw a screenshot of Samson before the ride from another angle omg the belt was lifted so high. You can clearly tell it's incorrect. The worker was so busy socializing with three riders and didn't check Anyone else on the other side.
I noticed there was another worker checking seat who was wearing a blue shirt. He did not check him either.
He also could have don't it before video started we don't know we weren't there
He should have never been allowed on that ride. The harness couldn’t close all the way because of his size, he slipped right out of his seat through the opening. Im a bigger dude and when I was younger, if that harness couldn’t close all the way, you couldn’t ride on the ride. The beginning of the full video you could clearly see his harness was only half closed unlike everyone else’s harness which was fully closed
I'm no longer trusting rides that go high or fast. If the boy slipped out of his seat, it means the security harness unlocked itself. We all put our trust into these rides to keep us safe knowing that they have several security measures and to see those security measures fail is terrifying.
Well there was no buckle that went from the harness to the seat between your legs! That would have helped keep the harness down or at least given him some leverage to hang on.
if they can't operate them right then don't build them I'm sorry but a ride is not built for someone to get hurt or killed on it's just not👎🤦 the park people should have known that
DEAR LORD please comfort the bereaved as only You can! In the name of JESUS! 🙏🙌 💞
This hurts my heart. Imagine how that baby felt 😢
This is not just an accident this just didn't happen for NO REASON,
Ok SHE ASKED, DID YOU CHECK IT
HIM: YES
HER: DID YOU CHECK
HIM: THE LIGHT WAS ON
SO YOU DIDN'T CHECK IT YOU ONLY LOOK TO SEE IF THE LIGHT WAS ON AND DIDN'T ACTUALLY CHECK THE SAFETY HARNESS.....

Yeah that’s why he kept repeating the light was on he knew he didn’t check
@@tony4534 RIGHT I BELIEVE THAT HOLDHEARTLY....
So sorry for the family's loss. I just could not imagine.
He wasn't secured in that seat, his size was an issue, I am willing to bet the harness was never locked in.
right. The attendant was busy chatting with other riders. Tyre kept looking for him in the video and he never came over. Lots of rides are attendant dependent . Perhaps Tyre thought he'd walk over and he never did. He seemed to know what was to happen by what he told his friends.
Too heavy to be on the ride=Payout to the family in the long run. They're saying in their rule book it's a 287 lbs. maximum weight limit, and the youngster was 340lbs. But on the fly, loading up people for a ride, how else can you implement this regulation except by offending someone, then that's a whole different story... Should have a weight scale right there as a routine procedure.
R.I.P
When I first heard I was shocked I was 1 mile away from it when it happened. I hope his family can recover from this sad moment Rest In Peace

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO GIVE CPR
even if they went splat on the ground at 80 mph?
Can We All Just take a moment and say our prayers for this poor kid. Who didn’t become an adult yet!😭♥️
What went wrong was he was huge. If you see the video before he died the thing was barley on his shoulders because he was a big boy Then his stomach was bigger than his chest too. So of course common sense tells you there's to much space from the stomach down. Going 75mph, your going to slide right out. The restrain didn't go down far enough to secure him to the chair. There problem solved. Case closed.
fr thought I was the only one thinking the same thing
So heartbreaking! I don’t get why they’re investigating a malfunction. You can clearly see that he was never locked in, or checked, because had they checked him, they would’ve seen he wasn’t secure. He was just holding the bar down over his shoulders and as soon as the ride suddenly slowed down, going 75mph, he slid right out of the seat. Praying so hard for this child’s family.
Why did he proceed then if he were holding it down, why not just lift it up and leave if he felt he was in danger. Don't say he was just a child because if you can decide your gender at that age you should be able to tell if you were in danger.
@@MS-st1zb look at the video circulating that's all y'all have to do instead of coming off as ignorant. The operator is 100% at fault for not checking the boy's harness. Stop victim shaming like teens are the most logical thinkers. Someone should have denied him the ride since he was 50 lbs overweight to begin with. All rides have weight and height limits. Those workers failed this child, no matter how you spin it.
@@MS-st1zb A 14 year old “IS A CHILD”. Granted, he may not have looked like a child, but nonetheless, he is still a child. A child that was going to have fun with his friends. From what I understand, he had already been turned away from several others rides due to his size, but not this one. The operator of this ride failed to do his job and failed to make sure the passengers on his ride were securely locked in, like he was trained, and paid to do. He was to busy chatting it up with the young lady that was also on this ride. He didn’t even have to go over there and check him. All he had to do was glance over to his left and he would’ve seen that he wasn’t securely locked in, and was too big to be on this ride. That was his job. For crying out loud. The part that was suppose to latch in between his legs was sitting on his stomach.
My heart aches for this family 😥
Please pray for the family and for anyone who witnessed this. A worst nightmare, that became true. Truly tragic and preventable. There are no words can explain how or why this horrific event took place.
Dismantle that ride in respect to that boy and his family and friends. Rides like these there should be a second safety harness like a 5 point seat belt.
So by your dumb theory, every time a tragic car accident happens on the highway, the highway should be torn up and dismantled in respect to the people who list their lives.
Stop being overly emotional!
This is mainly about weight limits. The problem is that these machines are designed in Europe where people at their heaviest are around 200lbs. They are safe by design, they just aren’t designed for very heavy people. They should have never let him on.
the boy's overweight did not allow to adjust the safety bar. Unfortunately, the desire to ride the attraction made the young man perhaps hide that it did not close. In his youth and inexperience he thought it was not so important. R.I.P.
He’s a child, they should’ve checked. What are they paid for?
A worker should have checked like they did the other ppl. In the other video u will see he never walked over to him and the boy was looking a bit confused
Yeah he was turned away from this same ride earlier in the day and went back, so sad.

When you add his weight to the speed at which the ride was falling, then coming to an abrupt stop, the momentum plus instant cease of momentum is something to think about. He should not have been allowed on that ride.
true
I pray for the family, I'm very hurt! This is horrible!!!
This is so tragic & the fact that the guy is asking saying seatbelts in the beginning is disturbing & then again I know how customers are, you try to tell them one thing & they think you’re trying to hurt them and so often times I let them do whatever they like & pay the consequences. This was bound to happen but tragically it happened to this young man. Also the father struck me oddly because he kept referring to his son as “this” boy & “that” boy & didn’t shed a tear. I would be horribly shook.
He may be in shock
Actually, that boy was WAY too big for that seat latch. It was not secured in place like everyone elses and you can clearly see it in the original footage stills. That is solely the operators responsibility to make sure every rider is secured properly. Parks like Disney and Universal are super anal about weight and height requirements which is why we never see stories like this come from those parks. 😬
He was his coach not the father.

Rides like this should be inspected for malfunctions before it opens & after it closes each day. Since it can be a life or death situation. Since it as a deadly weapon, it should be treated as one. Inspected frequently & up the aniee on the protocalls . Also, I wonder if there's a weight limit & does it need to be distributed or does that matter.
normally rides would have inspections performed on them daily, although those inspections might not be perfect, I feel like it could definitely be an issue with the restraint not fitting him, the manufactures of the rides give the parks weight and height limits that the restraints are proven to work for, and he might have been out of those limits
They claim they do. It wasn't a malfunction. It was never secure in the first place. You can check every hour and crap like this will still happen if there is no safety backup and employees don't fully secure each rider. It's 2022 and we are suppose to rely on teenage workers to keep thousands of riders safe. That's the real joke. All rides need triple safety backups. So shit has to be screw over three freaking times before someone can even be put at risk of death. This ride didn't even have one safety backup and that is the problem
It needs to be all fully automated without relying on only staff. People must be taught have to check that they are safely strapped in before the ride begins and not just wait for an employee only. The employee still makes the rounds but the person is also actively involve not relying only on the employee. Plus better sensors and latching systems that have multiple engagement. So even if the person is only half latched in they still cant come out.
@@youaregoingtolovethis nearly everything you just said was already on the ride. Sensors nearly always detect if any of the restraints are insecure. It was almost definitely just that he was too big to fit and shouldn’t have been let on the ride in the first place, still stupid though
My heart hurts for this little guy and his family. Prayers
Rip legend. I cant imagine the pain he went through and the pain that his family is going through.🙏God bless.
Seems like he died instantly on impact. Especially as the ride is coming down at 75 Mph can do such a thing.
He probably didn't feel a thing. The impact rendered him unconscious immediately.
I bet he felt a ton of pain. Guarantee you he didn't die instantaneously.
TO ALL YOU THEME PARK RIDE OPERATORS !!!!!!! Pleeeease double, tripple check seatbelts. An extra 3secs of your time will ensure everyone riding’s SAFETY !!!!
Wow so sad this young man lost his life. Sending my condolences to the family
I read somewhere that he was 340lbs. That's morbidly obese. No way can someone that size fit in a seat designed for a normal sized person.
This is sad. He shouldn’t have been allowed to be on that ride. The momentum from coming down may have cause that seat lock to pop loose like that. My condolences to that young man and his family.
I remember being too big to get on a ride JUST like this one at Six Flags. The operator seen that the safety guard wouldn’t close over my thigh area and immediately he said “nope, I’m sorry buddy” and I was removed from the ride. It was so humiliating, but it wasn’t the operators fault that I was overweight, that’s was all on me. After seeing what happens when you are not properly secured in these rides, I am GRATEFUL he did his job and pulled me from the ride. RIP to the young man who passed. And condolences to his family.
There is no excuse I don’t care you guys should know that if you had brakes like that something is gonna happen this is just tragic just awful and it makes me sick they need to remove the ride from that place. @@jjw9222 No, it's not for them.
@@jjw9222 no, most adults are not 6 ‘5” and 340 pounds…..
I thinking that things that could change is a mechanism that would not allow the ride to lift off if everyone isn't properly locked in. The ride shouldn't move if there's a problem.
His torso was far to long as was his weight to big. As sad and tragic as this is for the family his friends and loved ones, I’m only an observer. especially after a girl died in the Haunted Mine Drop ride in 2021, you would think that ALL ride companies would have their seat restraint designs verified and body limitations posted / test seats etc..
I'm sure he's not the biggest person ever on that ride. They just didn't lock him in right
@@wokejoke2675 never said he was dear just that by visually observing that ride was not equipped for his height and weight to ride safe and secure.
@@wokejoke2675 Several factors seemed to be in play based on that photo. He was too large for that design . His shape would be a factor to affect how the over the shoulders would come down. The tilting of 30% -- and shifting body tissue due to the speed creates force and redistribution. We also don't know if he passed out on his way down. IF only they had a belt buckle from the seat, between legs up to the shoulder bar. So terribly sad and preventable. Perhaps ALL rides should post that some riders are not allowed to ride if they can't properly be secured, have a test seat ---- and ---- maybe some rides could have special seat for those with larger or smaller frames.

As a former traveling carney I've assembled and ran numerous rides , we checked our rides for any defects before , during and after running for the day . This is a tragedy , maybe the workers got distracted talking to other guests when their mind should be 100% on their job and the young man was overlooked. Not hard to do when distracted . Next time you ride a ride talk to the operators after the ride. Prayers to this young man's family.
I go to amusement parks yearly around the Us. I check my safety, and make sure the staff check me also.
People need to realize DO NOT DISTRACT the operator, your life as well as others on ride could be at stake. Give a small chat as you exit , stop as soon as other riders begin loading so as not to distract.
@Capt. Flappysack I agree and I feel distractions are apart of the job. U have to pay attention to ppl, answer questions, listen to your walkie, watch kids, pay attention to machinery. U need to know how to multi-task. And ppl with large stomach should not be on those types of rides. I mean I know if I'm to big or too tall before I get there. Ppl will go year after year being told no, and still come back only to have gained more weight. And I don't feel the kid did it to himself thus being a kid. The attendee should've said no.
