- Hello and welcome back! Today we're breaking down The Stone Roses cult hit Sally Cinnamon! Firstly I'm going to start by running through the sound with pedals and levels, then it'll be straight onto the main bulk of the lesson starting from the introduction, methodically teaching every piece of guitar up until the end of the second verse.
We'll be tackling the instrumental and everything after it in part number 2.

Great detail as ever Ant, your videos are a cut above the rest in terms of quality. How does this track rank in your list of favourite Roses classics from a guitar playing point of view? Cheers.
Ooo tough one that, in the way of songwriting there's something wonderfully gentle about it, the simplicity of the chords combined with the riffs are really reminiscent of The La's There She Goes (which is a great thing) and I'd put it in the British cult classic section for sure. As for comparison I really enjoyed playing and teaching this one, more so than I thought I would, I prefer playing this to Waterfall or She Bangs The Drums strangely haha, I'd put it up there with Made of Stone and This Is The One !

Brilliant. Why do musicians were headphones ..stupid question I know 🤔
Steve - that's absolutely fine! It's purely for recording purposes, in the studio I record myself playing along to the song, I have the song in my headphones so the microphones only pick up the sound from the guitar (which is a good thing), then when I edit it together, I drop in the song from the computer into final cut pro, where I match it up with the recording of me playing, therefore having clean audio for both parts!
