So good to see you back. You’ve come so far from being dehydrated while on a bike ride. It’s tough leaving a place that was a safe haven for you. Life is not a soft affair if you strive to grow. You’ll be just fine. Safe travels!
Holy shit dude. About to embark on an adventure of my own - Seeing the first clip rang so true with my personal experience up to this point. Truly wish you all the best.
Excited to see where this adventure leads! Thanks for bringing us along. 🤙🏼
I love that you think of the environment! Keep aiming high in life.
Great to see you back! Keep your chin up. You have always been one of my favorite UA-cam creators. Always great content.
It is good to go flying with you both....have a great day!
Thank you for bringing us with you on this emotional roller coaster of a adventure , so excited to watch every single video that comes out , i’m always checking! Thank you for taking us with you and you’re doing an amazing job such amazing content so inspiring I cannot wait to build my own airplane also hope to meet you one day!!!!!!
I mostly fly with Ray Ban new wayfarers in yellow tint or Randolph Aviators. I'm a huge supporter of yellow tint in aviation. It makes things so much sharper, especially cloud edges and depth on those days that are on the fringe of IFR. They disperse the light much better and I swear you can see what feels like an extra mile.
Nice: glad to see you have come out of the maze at peace and ready to go. Great to see you with Trent. Good luck, I'll be watching.
Fun that you were here. It's such a nice place to fly.
Glad you are buddies with Trent. Like his stuff as well!
Great to see you back JP! I missed your channel, since I am an armchair pilot, but hope one day to take up the real thing once my life allows for it. I think I need some new sunglasses!
what a friendship ! just wonderful !
I flew bush flying and crop dusting for 20 years without any sun glasess in Australia and I must say I never ever had any problems with sun glare. But when I started to wear sunnies, I almost ran into many things!!!
thanks for the code JP - just ordered my first pair from Otavi & so pumped! can’t wait for the future of this channel. all the best!
A pity you couldn’t spend time at Mike Pateys shop!!
I'm happy to see you happy JP. Glad you had an awesome time with Trent.
Thats because he is your only friend hahahaha
Glad to see you back and flying about! Love your content bud!
PJ welcome back to America. Great to see you .
Ok, 9 and half min mark, Lets not get carried away with the tire track marks! I get what your saying , and agree but, go back next year and see if you can find your ATV tire tracks. depends on soil. totally agree bout bush tires.
It's an awesome trip and adventure you're taking on. Really good luck. I'll love to do something similar someday. I'll maybe come say hi next time I'm at tedderfield
Great video!! I'm excited to see you upcoming adventures and I'm excited for you, I hope everything goes really well for you!
Mega honesty JP! Go get ‘em!
Cheers. Glad you're on the "road" again ...
So excited to watch this journey! Highly inspirational.
Side note: Come to Cape Town lol.
Can someone link to the backstory referenced in the first bit of the video
Wow such a great video and so good to have you back!!
I’ve worked my whole life to buy/build my first real airplane (owned ultralights and built other peoples airplanes) and I’m honing in on the finish line and I can’t wait, watching your adventures will always be a big part of my dream and drive in the latter part of my journey, all I need in life is God, a partner, a dog and airplane and a hangar… the rest will sort itself out. Happy landings
Glad to see your video again, let alone with Trent. Awesome time.
JP so good to see your latest video. So excited for you with with those new shades on the market. Looking forward to you footage on your "round the world" adventure. I actually sent you a Facebook message about my connection to Namibia. I was born in Pretoria, South Africa and have been to Windhoek, Grootfontein and Tsumeb. I'm actually going to be in Johannesburg in about 3 weeks to visit the family.
Loving your content and cant wait to see some of your epic round the world journey particularly the ride to Oshkosh. Cool name for your brand. 40 odd years ago as a 19 year old I spent 14 months in a lovely little town in what was then South West Africa called ... Otavi. Yes courtesy of the South African government I was stationed at 1SWA Spes unit as a patrol dog handler. Fond memories, must get back there for a visit. Is your brand linked to this little town I wonder? Anywho Thanks for the amazing footage you put out... and now back to the flying.
Awesome video man hyped to see you’re making videos again!!!
Zeiss optics are a BIG deal, you need to make that more prominent on your web site! Top of the line Sony lenses have the blue Zeiss logo loud and proud! As well as the fact that they are designed to be worn with a headset, maybe even close up photos. Oden Rimu would be my choice. 😎
Great video and nicely designed sunglasses. Unfortunately I have tried to wear the sunglasses with the built-in nose pads and they never (after multiple adjustments) never fit my nose correctly and therefore I have to use glasses with floating nose pads. That type works the best for me, especially when it becomes hot and I sweat on the face.
Sub'd! Loved the humor you brought to this video on his channel!
I'd love to see a "glacier glasses" style pair of sunglasses!
Sad to see you leave NZ, but blue skys ahead. Take care.
Great video, and great sunglasses 👍🏻 I like the wing below the glasses, my wing is currently in the same position due to installing the ailerons. (tsi no. 355)
Give me a shout out, when passing near by Germany.
Good to see you back JP, Otavi soos by die huis in Nam. Hope they sell like cakes. All the best
JP! Give me a shout once you’re settled in Johannesburg - would love to show you a few good spots in the area ✈️
@Thomas Marrow- Bring JP around for some Thomas River Adventure!
We'll "host with the most!"
Glad you’re back mate
You vlogs exude quality. Awesome!
Blue skies dude. Blue skies
I seriously love your videos! I’d love to meet you some day here in BC and have a chat ! Keep the good work going! To fly is the most magical thing to do! Love it !
I loved the video and the flying was so cool.✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
Great stuff JP! Are the sunglasses extra thin where the headset would go over them for maximal enjoyment?
Nice video. What's the name of that last song? Really catchy tune
Hey JP. When showing the sunglasses I could help but notice the wing in the background. Are we getting a build vlog on the TSI HW? Very excited :)
Hey jp I am enjoying the content and I am glad that u r doing well and can't wait to see what's coming up for you and hopefully you can meet up with Loui keep up the good work brother 🙏🙏🙏
Hi JP, Nice video ! Very happy to see you back ! Even more at Slings :D
About OTAVI, how does the frames feels on the head under the helmet pression ? Because mine often hurt me after a while. Also, do you loose noise canceling ? Thank you for your reponses !
Louis
Any options on the sunglasses for us that wear glasses, like over-fit sunglasses or clip on?
Good luck mate you’ll be fine
Oh deer! :D Seriously, I wish you all the best for your journey!
So cool you guys met up 👏👏😁
Shoot me a link for your glasses can’t find it on the iPad Thank You !
Great video! Loved the camerawork!
JB. Let me know when you are in JHB. Would like to meet up and introduce you to our little flying furturnity. Cheers Geoff
Hey JP will you be back in NZ?
You have a bunch of 'splaining for not showing us the High Wing build.
Re: Helping out friends, There is something special about helping your buddies out on projects. Being able to say we did that together and remembering the struggle. Knowing that you can work as a team. Knowing that that when times get rough, you have got their back and they have yours. It grows your capacity because the knowledge skill and resources that are now available to you. (social capital)
Plus it is always nice to learn a new skill on somebody else's project. Then when you do it for yourself you scew up less.
What was he talking about in the beginning??
I think I'll hold out for the 'Reno' sunglasses - but - am I able to get my optician to change the lenses to prescription?
Dude there’s a HUGE gecko on the wall behind you!
I remember when Trent mentioned that he was helping a friend launch a sunglasses company and that was about all I knew
Dude
Please man.
Namibians are the best people on earth.
Be That.
Fellow Namibian
First time watching. I have watch a ton of trents vids. I think ive missed what happened before this vid . So i am subscribing to see if i can catch up.
Sunglasses look great! Anyway to get prescription lenses in them? Is it still some sort of standard frame?
What are the titles / artists of the songs in this video. Really enjoyed this video
Alles sal reg kom! 👍🏽
I have searched for sunglasses that fit over my prescription glasses. What ya got for me man?
Have you ever visited Avspec ?
Great video.
Do the sunglasses have different levels of protection? Are they level 3 or 4 for example?
Saving the environment while burning five gallons/hr!!
Hi JP, what flying safari company did you use for the flight planning etc in Namibia?
Yes- Yes the heck is going on?
The name of the prototype sunglasses Trent was wearing?
Insane.
My bro!!! Best of all wishes on your journey! Please make some time to stop by Kansas City, would love to host you and dive into the aviation history here when we're not at //42 HQ ! !
Happy to see you're back!
how did you get so good at editing/photography did you study this in school or self study
@@the_candourist that’s amazing you inspire me hella never stop making these man you truly have an eye for photography
Reading the title and seeing the miniature photo of the video, I enter thinking that Trent crashed his plane…
Epic ! 🤗
I clicked on this so fast!
Hey JP, whats going on with the world flight?
Can’t wait! :)
185-190 eh? Hmmm
Tarantino can shov his dialogs up, this is real. Or maybe it isn't, …is it?
That's what I said.
I have to say that as much as I respect your accomplishments, the tree hugger stuff has got to go. Implying that getting out to enjoy the wilds in a 4 wheeled vehicle “ruins” the landscape is both incorrect, and considering your mode of transport, elitist in the extreme. My passion is getting out into these places and enjoying the solitude. I am not fortunate enough to do so in an airplane, nor am I able to walk in. That leaves my Jeep. I tread as lightly as practicable, but I do not find that a dusty two-track has an adverse impact on the environment in any way. I consider it misguided at best that you do.
@@the_candourist Thanks for the reply! Let's unpack that a bit. Firstly, this is not "your home". It is more akin to the public square out in front of your home where you've gone to speak. The fact that you've left comments open implies that you are not averse to opposing comments, even though your comment above suggests otherwise. Might I suggest some thicker skin?
No, I don't have to be here, you are correct. I happen to mostly enjoy your videos though, with the exception of the preachiness in some of them. A preachiness that is borne of your privilege.
On that, I am happy for you that you have been able to lead a life of rare privilege, luxury and leisure... I truly am, and I don't begrudge it for a moment. Where I draw the line is when you use that position of rare privilege to preach at those of us who were not born into such a lifestyle, and have had to earn it, every day. Say what you will about "conservation", it is not generally a pursuit that pays for airplanes 😉.
While I would never presume to speak for Trent, I will make the observation that he has 4x4 vehicles, and made the comment just before landing about riding his side by side in this same area. Oh yes, and let's not forget the dirt bike.
I did say "misguided at best". Which implies that there is both an "at worst" and probably also a median in there somewhere. Both of which are worse than "misguided".
But yes indeed, I'd welcome an in person discussion of your views, which in any event are probably not far off from my own with some exceptions as noted above. So let me know. I'd even buy the beer.
🤣Yes, you do. Take care, safe flying and good luck with your new venture.
I’m with Thomas Hart on this…
@@Boeman767 Thanks! There seems to be an inability to consider alternative viewpoints these days. Primarily among the young. So indoctrinated are they into believing that other's viewpoints are not only wrong, but that they pose an existential threat.
Are you any relation to Elon ?
