Fort Myers Beach and Restaurants TODAY

- I'm back with an update on Fort Myers Beach! Here's what it looked like TODAY Monday March 25th 2024 along San Carlos Blvd, Times Square, and the Pier.
It was noticeably busier than when I filmed in December. Wahoo Willy's is open now, the turf area next door looks shaded and nice. Boats are out and so are the people! I parked in the Lynn Hall lot and there were plenty of spots. By 930 however it was nearly full. Paid parking is back, no more free spots, and the beach was busy. I'm starting to forget how Times Square used to look, which is really sad. Margaritaville is open now and the pool is right on the beach.
So much change is coming to FMB and while that's hard to see sometimes at least it's better than ruined buildings or empty lots. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this area.

Was there August 2023, and it was so desolate. It was deserted. I hope there's been some improvement in recovery since then. Process is slower than we would like. Never seen Fort Myers beach so desolate. There seemed to be a shortage of workers from what we could see. Places a little farther inland seemed to do better. Just a loss of power.
yes a shortage of workers, supplies, and a very slow permit and insurance process. Although still not back to normal crowd level I was happy to see quite a few more people around than in December. I also go pretty early in the mornings so that's why you don't see much activity in this video.
@@LindsayLola_ The insurance companies need to get out of the way, so more recovery can take place. They're standing in the way. After Michael in the panhandle in 2018, they ripped some friends we've known many years off (my dad's college roommate and his wife) and they couldn't get their house fixed.
I want a place to go to today. where I can walk around and check out some shops, walk the beach, and have access to the bathroom and maybe a good place for some fried chicken and some ice cream. Any suggestions? i don't usually watch non narrated videos. Usually read the comments for the best information on these type of videos.
Where are you staying Annie? Fort myers? You can do all that at fort myers beach.

overall good! However they did a big water release from Okeechobee so its day by day right now.
Lindsay - Do you think they are doing a good job overall of rebuilding and developing Fort Myers Beach area? We go every year from Ohio so interested in your opinion thx!
Oh that's such a loaded question! Ask a local and they will say it's being ruined, ask a visitor and they'll say it's taking too long. I'm in the middle. Some parts of FMB did need to be updated, but over all I'll be very very sad if it looses its charm and becomes a Marco Island. Time will tell.
@@LindsayLola_ Thank you Lindsay. I have enjoyed some of your other videos so I was very interested to hear your opinion on the progress at FMB. We've never been to Marco Island. Question - Is there another beach on the golf side that you would recommend ?
