- We will revisit Fort Myers Beach, 13 months after Hurricane Ian , although still seeing a lot of devastation, will will follow the restoration and recovery which is happening and note the differences since last year. We will also see ethe start of commerce again at Fort Myers beach with Food Trucks, trailers and tents. WE will see the near finished Margaritaville which will be the centre of the new Fort Myers Beach.
Excellent video. I visited Fort Myers Beach in early April 2024. There has been a lot more restoration since this video was made. There was a lot of activity at Time Square. We ate at the new JMB Restaurant at Margaritaville. I was happy to see how much the restoration has progressed.
I’m a resident and well done!
Glad you liked it
I just stayed at Margaritaville in Fort Meyers about a week ago and it was fabulous. They also had just started the Farmer’s Market again there which was fun to go to as well.
I would love to stay there as well some time .Are the rooms expensive Amie?
@@LarryWarden We booked the room in January and got a New Year’s special rate, but it is fairly expensive. With taxes and fees it was $2500 for 4 nights but we did get the Gulf View room so we had a nice balcony with an incredible view, so I’d say it was worth the cost.
Thank you for making this. ❤
glad you liked it
Spent a week in Fort Myers Beach in October. Heartbreaking to see the damage. But, the people were wonderful. I wish them well and can't wait to return
Wyndham is for sale and can not be rebuilt, Sand Piper is getting torn down and rebuilt, Santini Plaza is nearly rebuilt, there are some unknow delays.
Thanks for the info on these structures
So cute this video ❤❤❤ blesing
Excellent documentary, great communication skills... I cycle down there often.
Glad you enjoyed it
Shouldn’t those changing huts (at minute 3 ish) been repaired quickly by the city…? They look like city property…ugh… If you build it, they will come…. Great video! Wishing FMB folks all good things…
Great video. I wonder when they will start rebuilding the pier? It seems to be taking too long. I see they are putting up some new palm trees though.
Political posturing.
FEMA has recently given the greenlight to fund a portion of the rebuild.
Mantanza Pass? Where's that?
I don’t know , where is it?
@@LarryWarden I don't, either.
Its the north bridge from San Carlos Island to FMB
Ian struck during daytime
It's a long way to go for skin cancer and a Slurpy.
It takes a lot of time to recover from a natural disaster.FMB will be back strong.
Somebody’s making money off the devastation and rebuild
Larry, when you pan your camera, move slower.
Thanks for the tip. Good suggestion , I will take Paul
Desantis. Should pass revenue collection (tax) in ALL sea border counties to allow REBUILD funding. Another FL neglence Example.
