I’m trying to find a 4 1/2 for me and my friend and this year is impossible! I’ve never struggle that hard to find an affordable renting and it’s stressing me out haha maybe we should find roommates but I’m scared to live with someone I barely know because I’m kind of a clean freak lmao anyways great video!
I've read that simply walking around the area that interests you and looking for "for rent" signs may be a good idea. In looking up online apartment listings, something I am noticing is that there is somewhat of a "hollowing out of the middle" with those who advertise their apartments online; meaning that the online listings seem to consist of a few very nice and very expensive rentals that have very positive reviews and MANY listings that have very bad reviews (and I am not even looking up places with below average rental prices). It makes me think that for an average priced decent place that a landlord may not even need to advertise and good word of mouth gets around and if one walks through the area and sees the building that they can see the apartment right away and do their own "smell test". What do you think?
Hi! I was wondering what's the best way to find roommates since I plan to live off-campus my first year. Also when is the best time to start looking for apartments? I hope to go to Mcgill in sept of 2021.
Hey I was wondering how long did it take until you got your offer letter from McGill, and also what do you think about Macdonald Campus? Love you and your videos!❤❤
@@AlenaMcKenzie I get that. Maybe you could be the first student to advocate for choosing a new name. (I assume you see how using the term “ghetto” for a student housing district at an elite, majority-white university could be offensive.)
@@theoshouse8215 it is called the ghetto as it was historically a jewish neighborhood, ghetto being an italian word originally used to designate places with a high concentration of jewish people; the mcgill part comes from the fact that it surrounds and is part of the campus of said university
There’s NO where in Montreal that is ghetto they all have their pro and cons, they look all the same at some point, same architecture. It’s expensive? Yes. But everyone can live where they want if you have the money to afford it. You may not like it but please don’t call it ghetto because other who don’t live in Montreal will think that way about the arrondissement and it’s false. Respectfully
Hey! The neighborhood isnt a ghetto hahaha its just what the milton parc neighborhood is commonly referred to :)) it has nothing to do with price/architercture etc, its just a nickname :)
I just found my first apartment in MTL! I'm so happy about where it is and the rent in MTL is so much more affordable than other Canadian cities!
Nothing is more entertaining than watching me trying to figure out where to look when im not talking
Those eyes 🤩
I use Zumper, but both times I have found my apartment on Kijiji

Um, don't call it "the ghetto." Kinda insensitive.
here in montreal we refer to this neighborhood as the student ghetto!
