That's so smart to use the AirBNB host as a reference!
🙌
In Vancouver you only have to pay your first month's rent and 1/2 of one month's rent as a security deposit. You don't pay first and last month's rent. If you have a pet (a cat or a dog) it might be very difficult to find a reasonable priced apartment to rent. You will also be asked to pay a pet's security deposit.
Thank you for adding that info for Vancouver , Alicja 🙏
I like the way you included so much information in such a short video, keep it up. Thanks.
Thank you! Happy to help!
I like how you describe what is needed for newcomers. From my experience, I can say rules you described appeal also to other cities outside Canada. Now I realized how lucky I was with finding apartment, byt I guess this was pricy studio in the city center. I had job offer prior and rent from property management that had buildings around the city.
Thats great! Having a job offer certainly helps land good apartments 🙌
This was useful and well arranged. Thanks a lot! Keep it up girls!! I'll be moving to Vancouver this December, wish me luck :)
All the best Ramisa! Stay warm during the move 😉
❤great video of gems..the air b&b option is a good transitional choice, while building Canadian relations and credit.

Hi nice video and info especially. Are there any other platforms other than Airbnb that helps to secure rental of accomodations, economically?
Thanks

Very useful. Do Canadian landlords allow break clauses in leases like in the UK? E.g. a 6 month break clause?
Typically, no. If you need to terminate a contract earlier, you have an option to sub-lease and find a new tenant to replace you till the end of your contract. During this time, you’re responsible for all damages - and oftentimes the landlord also needs to approve the new tenant as well.
Thanks for the video, very informative.
Are all new contracts 12 month contracts ? Can we find a month-to-month contract from the get go ? I am thinking cases like landing in a city then finding a job in another with the obligation to move
For that case, we recommend trying out Airbnb or living with roommates. Landlords prefer longer term contracts, but it is possible to find shorter term ones, you just have to look more.
Is it always legal sublease?
need help in renting a apartment in calgary this month.for a family of 4
but with low wage like barman, waiter, supermarket employee ect, can you pay rent in toronto or vancouver?
Yes but you would probably share accomodation
Would it be better as a foreigner to share an apartment? i.e. room rentals. That way you get to interact with other locals/foreigners instead of being secluded by yourself in a whole apartment
Some people do prefer to share
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sorry please if you are just coming to Canada for the first time is it advisable to buy a house(since we've not borrowed a loan before)or rent a house. The reason why I asked is because of the inflation happening in Canada.
Renting is usually the easiest and the least risky thing to do when you’re a newcomer in Canada. It is not adviceable to buy a house in a country and neighborhood that you don’t know well enough. You won’t be able to get a mortgage without a credit history in Canada as well.
@@MakeThatChange thank you ma's and can international students purchase a land to build a house instead of buying and how we go about it so as to avoid being scammed.
If a student wants to rent an apartment do they have to provide reference or university enrolment or a work permit visa
I think you have two options: 1. either find a sublease or find a roommate who rents outs a second room. 2. Be ready to pay a deposit for a few months in advance if you want to rent alone.
References are needed to show you're a trustworthy person who can pay rent (e.g. has a job or enough savings)
“Easier in Smaller cities such as Montreal”
Lolol fyi Montreal has a way higher population than Vancouver. Almost as many people as Toronto. Competition for apartments is fierce and housing shortage is insane.
Do you think Edmonton have same regulations?
Yes, both Edmonton & Calgary have exactly the same regulations. In general, renting in Canada is very frustrating.
@@BDB-ji1ui Thanks for the information
🙏
Hai, Can a family of 4 or 5 members rent a family house on tourist visa who wishes to stay for 12 months?
Hi, can anna reviled the name of that ABNB or landloard with location.
Looks like they no longer do Airbnb,😔
Share accommodation is possible
Yes!
Hi Girls , we Russians all over the world ... WE SUPPORT YOU .. and value your experience

I guess it is impossible to rent as newcomer

youtube can't show me a video that people of two different countries married in Canada.
I just want to know that two non-blond married each other and they were not from same country. That's what I'm looking for. I'm not blond, don't want a blond girl. running away form my countrymates (Canada has lots of them)
If you are looking for marriage content, Lei, we are probably not right. Our goal is to inspire and motivate, no matter your life situation and who you are
