Thank you very much! I’m happy you liked it 😊
What a beautiful avary
Thanks :-)
Very nice 👍🏻
Thanks 😊
Mashallah very beautiful brother ❤️
Thank you very much, Muhammad 😊👍
Lovely. Can you keep Gouldian Finches in an out door aviary all year around?
I always try to take them in but this guy was impossible for me to catch last winter. He stayed out all winter without any problems. Though, I always put on infra red heating lamps when cold. Some Danish breeders keep them outdoor all year.
But it need to be strong birds and not poor quality raised under poor generations for years 😉
Beautiful birds
Thank you very much 🤗👍
The aviary under the snow look amazing ! 🥰 you don't see every day gouldians, zebras, stars and long tails dealing fine with snow ! 🥰 thank you for this video ! Merry Christmas Torben ! 🎅

Thank you Gary - and a Merry Christmas to you 🎅🏻🎄🎉
Thankyou for this amazing video I didn't think gouldians etc, would survive in these conditions being outside in the snow and these very low temperatures thanks again for your video 👍😁
Thanks, Stewart! 😊

Nice video,I hope if a little longer.
Thanks :-) I will make a longer for you soon. From indoor aviary or outdoor aviary?
Thank you very much for this video.
Is this means I can keep my finches in my garage during winter?
Hi! Depends on the species - and their specific upbringing - but an infrared heating lamps can help a lot👍😉
How low do the temperatures get where you are and how long are the winters? I agree finches can acclimate to colder temps like this in small bursts, I'm curious though for how long.
I know there are a lot of assumptions about what birds can handle based on the environments where birds originate (ie zebras are from Australia in warmer climates so its assumed they will die if not kept in similar temps; however, like shown in your video, many have adapted to colder climates. Also, there are a lot of wild finches in very cold climates where winters get well into freezing temps for months on end and still do well. Hence my question to you about how low the temperatures get and for how long. Good work on your aviary.
Hi!
The winter season in Denmark is usually from October until April, with the peak being December to February. The average winter temperatures are around 0°C (32°F), meaning they hover above freezing, nevertheless, with peaks for days or a week around -10 and very few days down to -15/-16/-17.
Oklahoma City 🇲🇽
They don't seem to bothered by the snow at al. Merry Christmas! 🎄
Thank you very much - and a Merry Christmas to you😊 I dont think they are - they act as in the middle of summer 😉
Aviary looks great! Is this mesh 0.5x1 inch (13x25mm)? I saw some nice wide rolls online and I was wondering if that would work for finches. I always used 13x13mm.
Hi! Correct, part of the net is 13x25. That is small enough for most small birds. Only the chicks of the smallest waxbills can few times get through. This is the normal size net/mesh in Denmark. Though, the new part of the aviary has 13x13 but only because it came in 2m wide 😉
Hi, my name is Jaggi and I am from India I see your many videos on UA-cam and I also recently follow your Instagram. As per my knowledge zebra finchs are not survive in open aviary in winter but I see something different in your this video.
What think maximum effect in zebra finch cold weather or cold winds ??
If possible kindly guide me on this topic!!
I keep the xl/jumbo zebra finch which is a bit more hardy than the small zebra finch. Both can be outdoor during winter if they have nests to sleep in as well as a heated shelter or infra red heating lamps. The xl can stay outdoor and take minus 5-10 for few days without heat but even lower temperatures if they have e g infrared heating lamps. Mine managed minus 17 degr celcius for two nights without any problems at all. But remeber to provide fresh water and lots of food + longer daylight if the days are short (as in the Nordics).
Hi im from uk, i am planning to step up garden fiches house.what type of finches are best for uk climates.
Hi depends on the specific micro climate in your garden. Also depends on if they should be outdoor all year, if the can go indoor etc. But try to look at my videos - they have lots of guidance on what could work for you as well.
Is this in the US or Canada, because I see a number of birds native to North America that are illegal to be kept on captivity.... and also illegal to be imported into the EU and UK.
Hi! It is in Denmark - and all birds are bred locally😉
Here in America we get -40 many times
😅❄️🌨️
Hi,from Sweden (Stockholm) i got 3 Bengali birds living outside my qvile aviary, I am feeding them , there was -7° and the male were singing. Is there more sorts of finches that can live outside in vinter .
Hi! It really depends which kind of aviary you have? You need to provide sheltered places and also sleeping nest. And I guess in Stockholm it gets even more cold than in Copenhagen. But zebras can do as the societies. If you also provide a hearing lamp and again shelter from wind and snow it can work fine also with some of the others 😉
Hello, but the birds won't die? finches and how many minus degrees
1-2 days it was down to minus 16 but mostly around 0 and sometimes minus 5 to minus 10. These birds did not have any problems because of 1) the infrared heating lamps, 2) they had been outdoor from spring and 3) they are all good, healthy and hardy birds.
what infrared light or band do you use? Do think they will survive without the infrared lamp in America?
What are trees you recommend planting in a aviary
Hi! Really depends on size of the aviary and which bird species + number you plan to get?
What are the birds called with red head and white / gray body? Nice aviary btw
Thanks Amandie 😉👍
Perhaps you are looking at the red headed finches? Try to google them 🤔
@@TropicalAviaryBirds its at time of video 1:26 never seen it before ! So pretty
@@RuneScapeGiveaway14 It is a red crested cardinal 😉 Wonderful birds!

Hi I’m new subscriber from NEW YORK CITY, USA, I am new to finches and I have about 11 of them indoor, in cages, as you know New York City temperature is cold also, some one told me that finches dies in the cold even though it’s indoor basement, but there isn’t any heating system installed but fully insulated, my question is what is the the temperature that finches can survive indoor, without heat? After seeing yours with snow makes me wanna think others who told me here in NYC, is like not true? So now I have bought a electric heater for them , now I hope they will breed,
@@Fastnfuri0us69 Hi. It depends which specific finches you wish to breed. How cold does it get? Remember to make sure it does not get too wet as moist and cold is bad for the birds. But, yes - you can proberbly breed many finches under these conditions. Good luck.
Very nice aviary, with the perches and trees, and the birds are looking good. What's the temperature in the shelter. New subscriber, watching from England.
Thanks :-)
Actually, a good question. 🤔I will check tomorrow - but they control it partially depending on how close the birds are on the lamp. I always make sure that there is plenty of perches so they can control the distance and hence the temperature 😊

Not at all 😉
I taught finches can’t handle cold 🥶 weather ??!
Hi! Not all can. These have been outdoor since spring and come from birds also used to the cooler climate. Also they have an infrared heating lamp. But these birds are doing great 😉 But of the birds for generations have not been outdoor - perhaps they couldn’t. Is all about finding strong and healthy birds and slowly adapt them to the weather.
@@TropicalAviaryBirds thanks for the information.
