I WANT ONE!
tremendous aviary, love all the birds, brings back many memories of my aviaries and of my lovely father who built them for me, Thank you so much.
Thanks! Yes, good memories about the hobby and family are wonderful. I have lots too😉
Even I love to build such big aviary
Very, very beautiful, avery.
Thank you🤩🙏
Loved your video, thank you! You brought back many pleasant memories of my large indoor aviary and African finch collection. I see my fave Violet Esr, BlueCap and Orange Cheek. Sadly, I developed allergies and had to get rid of the birds. It broke my heart. I wish you continued good luck with your breeding. ❤
Thank you very much - but sad to hear of your problems. Must have been a hard “choice”.
Love your videos. Gives me heaps of inspiration and ideas
Wonderful to hear - thanks 😊👍
What a beautiful collection of birds. I had not seen a crested cardinal before, absolutely gorgeous specimen ! Last year in my area someone was able to photograph a yellow cardinal, a somewhat rare occurrence, I learned. Your video was enjoyable, thank you.
Thank you very much, Clarissa 😊
I haver not yet seen a yellow myself 😉
I am in Hawaii right now and saw many crested cardinals over the past week!
Beautiful aviary
Thank you 😊
Beautiful birds watching you from Lebanon🇱🇧🇱🇧

That was amazing Torben ☺️! You have so many beautiful little birds. I saw some of my favourites in this video too. I could spend hours in your aviary just watching them; it's so calming. Thanks so much again for sharing. From Linda in Scotland 🏴
Thank you very much, Linda! I am very happy you enjoy the videos and the birds - thanks 😊🤝☀️
I have never seen so many gorgeous birds in my life 😍. Most that I've never heard of. Yes I do love your videos and enjoy every one!
@@lindabell9235 😄THANKS!
Can you mix different species of finches together in same aviary without them attacking each other?
Yes, to some extent you can. Try looking more at med long form videos then you can see what works for me😉
Bonjour, très bonne qualité d’image👌.
pouvez-vous me dire avec quel appareil vous avez réalisé vos dernières vidéos.
merci, bonne continuation🙏🏽
Hi! Thank you very much. I use an iphone 13 pro 😉
hello will you be my friend 💐💐💐💐💗💗💗
I love watching your videos. Such a different assortment of birds. The pekin robins are my absolute favorite! But I also like the azure tit and the bearded reedlings and the little robin redbreast. Will be looking forward to the second part.
Thank you very much, Mary Jo! Very happy you keep following 😊👍
Hi, I'm just new to your channel. May I request that you create a video with the complete lists of all the birds inside your aviary?
Hi Rejhel!
Welcome :-)

Fantastic. My dad used to have a giant cage with about 2 dozen pigeons and then one day a raccoon got inside. :.( Do you ever let some go if they breed a lot? I wanted to have a vegetable garden and somehow use the birds to control the insects. I was even considering some lizards to help as well. I thought fish farming could be fun if I could figure how to raise insects to feed the birds and fish. I see crickets and lizards for sale as other pet food but I’m trying to figure some sort of natural ecosystem.
Sound like a very interesting project you got going🤩🤞🤞🤞 I always sell if I have too many birds. It is both unethical and illegal to let them go into the wild😉
I've taken to taking my rifle out with me, because once or twice where I feed the birds they hawks have flown over looking to swoop down for easy prey and I'm going to take that bird out before it can get one of the birds I feed. I'm fed up with them, plus they've taken a chicken or two off my uncle who lives across the road from me. So I'm shooting and going to take it down!
In Denmark thet would be illegal 😅
Very cute and amazing towards the devotional love. From Thailand 🙏🏻🇹🇭
😊🙏
Nice video❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much🤩
Why can’t the canary’s be with the finches??? They go well together in aviary’s!
Hi! Some go outdoor with the finches during summer - but the canaries are a bit hard on all plants so they cant come out all of them. 😉
I came across your video and I enjoyed every moment of its content! Thanks for the video.
Sir if I may ask! What state are you at!
Thank you very much😉 No state, though. I live in Denmark😉

Hello from Edmonton Canada. Our summertime temperatures are similar to yours, my concern with outdoor finch breeding is that in many species the parents stop brooding the chicks at day 10-12, but the young don't fledge foe a week or more. Do you find that the nestlings are fine with night temperatures below 15 degrees?
This is my first year with outdoor breeding of gouldians, owl and redheaded parrotfinches. Any advice would be most welcome.
Hi! very good question and concern. I have seen problems with this - but only with small litters of 1-2 chicks. And most time - even with only 1-2 chicks I dont have any problem at all with these night temperatures during breeding. Most species build very good and warm nests if they are provided the correct materials and boxes/bamboo nests etc. Therefor this is actually not a concern of mine as long as the chicks are healthy.
I have had more problems with rain - also with the parents in the nests. But that is again something that we can assist with in provviding good boxes and pleanty of building materials. 😉
Hi. Great bird collection. With experiance i found that zebra finches and java sparrows destroy other birds eggs in a common aviary. They should be kept seperately.
Hi! Thank you very much😉 Also for your concern. So far I have not had any such problems. Luckily.
You have my dream! Have you thought of adding a pair of zebra doves? I keep and breed them, including the rare white mutation. They are very peaceful, easy to breed and have a lovely song.
Also I plan to get crested roul roul partridges. I think they would look good in your aviary too!
Thanks😉
Good idea - but already have bleeding heart doves and namaqua doves☺️ I do have roul roul already 👍 All fantastic birds.
When i stopped having zebras , everything got better in my aviary.
They are thieves , robbers , hooligans and curios 🙂 all in all they stress the others.
You are absolutely right 😅 Though, I dont seem to have these issues (yet) in the big aviary. 🤞
How big is the aviary in sq ft
Dont know - but roughly 60 m2.
Love from India 💕❣️💕

At 07:19, what was that ? Two different species in one nest ?
A broad ringed whiteeye that mated with a pekin robin 😉
@@TropicalAviaryBirds now I am wondering what was the outcome?
Hey whear your from sir
Denmark 😉👍
Where did you get Pekin robins? I can't find those anymore.
Hi! Where are you from? We breed them quite often in Denmark 😉

Thanx à lot
Did the pekin robin and walning white eye produce any hybrid?
Hi! No, but the actually raised a true robin 😅 So the robin female had been fooling around 😉
So beautiful
Thanks😉
Hello, Torben. It is wonderful to see so many of your birds raising young again this year. I am very happy to say that my old pair of Brazilian Cardinals have unexpectedly hatched two chicks, yesterday and this morning, after having only infertile eggs all last year. As the female will only feed one chick, I took the second one that hatched into the house to handfeed it, and I am hoping that both chicks survive.
With your indoor pair attacking the first chick, it may be because of the more limited space. When my pair is ready to start on a new clutch of eggs, I know that although my male will continue to feed older chicks as long as they retain the brown head feathers, he does not want an older chick too close to the nest. He still responds to begging chicks, but they spend more time in the outdoor flypen section of their aviary. As the pair has a large aviary compartment to themselves, any older chicks present are able to stay out of their father's way when he is intent on the female and nest. I am still unable to find any unrelated cardinals to buy here, so my worries about inbreeding continue.
Wow! That’s wonderful news with the cardinals. Very happy to hear that! Hope everything works out for both chicks 🤞😉
Think you are correct with regards to my indoor pair. In the outdoor aviary they could be with their chicks for many weekend without any problems. 😉
Your Zebra Finches might have access to too much nesting material. If you can reduce their access to it you might get eggs.
Thanks. But, it is quite impossible if they are in the large mix bird aviary. unfortunately. 🤔😊
Silver Eyes used to be in my garden as a kid they like figs

Hi torben, a lot going on at the moment!, the young song sparrows are well on, and feeding away, sorry to hear that the young cardinal didn't do, I wonder if a canary pair on young/fledglings of similar size could feed cardinals, maybe worth a try if you notice any problems with them, a great video, as always. Looking forward to seeing how the goldies get on, I hope you are enjoying the birds as much as me just watching! Cheers mate. 👍🍻. Mark.
Thanks Mark - as always I enjoy your comments 🙏😉
I dont think it will work with canary birds as the size difference is quite big and as they feed very differently. The cardinals hold insects and stuff them down. 🤔 But perhaps?
I do enjoy them - but even more when I can share them. Also I get a lot of usefull information from the videos I take. So a true win win 😊
@@TropicalAviaryBirds always something to learn with the birds, they really are individuals, when it comes to nesting, nest sites ect, I've had success in the past when maybe a greenfinch needs to be fostered out, I've had canary hens, smaller birds feed the youngster, I've used bengalese to incubate java sparrows eggs, one hatched and they reared it, that's what I like about bird keeping, it's the best interest/hobby, once your into it, it's addictive, lol. Hopefully your videos and the likes of, will get others, especially younger kids to get into bird keeping and this interesting hobby /past time. 👍.

Hi may i know the breeding cage size for finches like zebras, owl and gouldians...thanks in advance
Hi. For gouldians I would use 70-80 cm lenght at least but often 100 cm. Zebras and owl finches can be in 50 cm at least but better with larger cages. If they use cages for breeding they benefit of comming into an aviary or large cage while not breeding. This way they get better health and condition. 😉
