Jaime Lomeli ..... I love the William Gomez version of this and Elina definately does it justice. Just a beautiful rendition of this classic. I happened upon this version while researching Amira Willighagen the fine young Dutch soprano. She performs an incredibly powerful rendition of this in a church setting with minimal accompaniment that is definitely worth a look. Quite remarkable for one so young.

Quando si dice una cantante brava e preparata.....la canta benissimo perché riesce a tenere morbida l'emissione e sempre in risonanza. La difficoltà di questo brano consiste proprio nel mantenere l'emissione leggera e morbida nella seconda strofa, dove la nota acuta precedente si salda alla tessitura alta successiva obbligando a un imposto sempre ben sostenuto. Si può forzare facilmente e perdere la dolcezza necessaria all'interpretazione.
