- Welcome to Street Dreams in Texas as we finish out our 22nd year in the classic and muscle car business. We are always happy to showcase another classic truck. These little Chevy Luvs are very cute and desirable. This truck is equipped with an Isuzu I4 and a 4-speed manual transmission. This little truck does have 4 wheel drive capabilities. This one was only lightly used with only 72k original miles. A few modern conveniences like air conditioning and power brakes makes for a more comfortable ride. If you would like to see more photos and information check out our personal website. www.streetdreamstexas.com
Remind me of my luv truck's. Nice memories seeing one again.
We are happy to bring back some of your cherished memories.
It's in great shape most of them have returned to the earth
Yes there are some rough ones out there. Thanks for admiring ours!
@@StreetDreamsTexasIf care was taken to this truck and msny others like it, painting the whole underside of the truck frame, chassis, floorboards, underneath the bed, along with the sides of the bed, it would last a lot longer. These days, when there is bedliner coating that can be purchased, that to helps an awful lot keeping the bed pretty much intact and usable for many years yet to come.
@@danbasta3677 We are a classic car dealership that has been in business 25 years. We do this with some of our vehicles.
Wish these were still being made today in the same exact body style pictured here. With these trucks, along with many of the Japanese trucks, you had to take them apart and paint them underneath the frame, bed, floorboards, fenders, every conceivable area in order to keep the body from rusting out.
Haha yea cool style!
Wish i still had mine. I believe mine was a 1979 model. Ran great, bad ass little 4x4.
😎 You know it.
@@dunrite5225 Superb engine and transmission.
I had a 1980 2wd that I got in 1995. I loved that little truck. I've wanted a 4wd LUV ever since. One day. Thanks for sharing the video of this awesome little truck.
Yes sir no problem. This is a pretty desired little truck.
@@StreetDreamsTexas Be nice if this body style could come back into use once again and this truck can be manufactured once again.
@@danbasta3677 Yessir, a lot of the classic styles are loved more than the new ones. New ones just tend to copy each other.
@@StreetDreamsTexasI quite agree. What's being produced and coming off Detroit's assembly lines are all cookie cutter SUV's and four door station wagon trucks with wagon wheels and thin tires on them. They ALL look alike, no matter what brand your buying GM, Ford or Chrysler, they all are nothing but cookie cutter look alike vehicles with absolutely no looks, no personality, nothing about them is at all desirable.
Yes @@danbasta3677
my first brand new car was a 1979 4x4 lil white ute fun truck for a 18 yo
Nice!
@@StreetDreamsTexas how so much fun with it
@@youtubecarspottersguide1 😎
Superb truck. Had a 1979 year model with the 340 air conditioning - two windows down plus the after market sliding back glass pushed “open” doing 40 mph (which was fast for a Luv since they had a low speed rear end). Only power steering that came on a Luv were your two arms. Fun to drive but would beat you to death. Upgraded to an S-10 - like going from a steel wheeled wagon to a "Cadillac car" (as Cotton Hill would say).
Lol ohh the memories! 😎
@@StreetDreamsTexas Precious.
@@sartainja That may be a good name for one of these trucks. One of our employees names all of his vehicles.
Very nice truck, keep it up man.
Thanks!
Sorry, don't know much about these trucks but I just fell in love. Is that a diesel engine? Beautiful homestead too. Lucky little farm truck.
The Chevy LUV truck, which the word LUV stood for Light Utility Vehicle, was powered by a 4 cylinder Isuzu gasoline engine. As long as you kept strict matainance up on them, they lasted a good many years. Only drawback: Their bodies rusted out faster than the engineL as the engine would last forever. In order to counteract the body from rusting out, you needed to spray paint the underside of the truck frame and chassie, floorboards, underside of the bed with rust olem black paint.
Had 3 Chevy luv truck's, 2 were 1979s other 1980. 79 was a 4x4 ,80 long bed, an an other 79 was California side steps fenders. Wish I had my little 4x4 hurricane wheels.hard to find now. . .nice little trucks. Two had A/C standard 4 speed. Other luv truck ( side step ) had automatic transmission. Who new them trucks are worth money now. ?!?
Yea no one really ever knows what will be desired in the future. They are real cool trucks and people love them.
@@StreetDreamsTexasWHICH!!! Should tell the auto manufactures GM, FORD AND CHRYSLER CORPORATION that there is indeed a demand still yet out there and that these little trucks, known as mini trucks should come back on the market and be manufactured once again. Bet if they were manufactured once again using the very same designs of the bodies from back then and each one of them have standard 4 wheel drive systems on them with regular cab truck design, they would sell like hot cakes and they wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand on them as the 4 cylinder engines would get excellent gasoline mileage, just a better marketing manouver all the way around.
@@danbasta3677 If only
What wheels does it have on?
The best I can really do on that is refer you to the website. Where you could get a closer look at it. I do not have the details you are looking for on hand otherwise. The truck also sold a while back. www.streetdreamstexas.com/vehicles/1097/1980-chevrolet-luv
for sale?
It sold about a year ago or more. Thanks for inquiring.
@@StreetDreamsTexasI would have kept it. Wouldn't have sold it at all.
