Must be great indeed to have most of your home comfort in your truck. No need to search for a tuck stop. Thanks again for sharing your day to day life. You look so at peace with you, enjoying the little moments. It is refreshing to watch 😀
I admire the way you are able to integrate yourself and truck into the traffic, delivery situation, or unexpected situations. Very professional behavior with very predictable results; success and no drama. Then to spend the time editing and publishing your efforts on line seems like an awful high workload daily. Thanks so much for all that extra effort your channel requires in order that we may enjoy viewing.
That’s awesome a shipper who gives coil Racks. Hell most of the time it’s an issue to get dunnage without them wanting to charge you. O WOW, after watching more that’s not far from my old house
Hi Dan. Hope you can get the time to fix the AC. I can’t imagine driving in the southwest or even in the heat/humidity of the south without AC. The drive across ‘the woods’ as you call the non-interstate roads was pretty. Very green! Stay safe and try to stay cool.
I do Heavy Haul/Specialized for Public Utility, I've hauled more big cable reels than I could count. The vast majority of the reels I carried were steel reels were 78" tall and 72" wide and weighed about 10,000-12,000 each, put 7 on a 48' 3 axle flat. They were loaded on the floor, 4x4 block in front of the forward reel, 4x4 block behind the rear reel, all 1/2= chains, 2 chains on reels #1, #4 and #7, rims of each reel clamped to the next reel on both sides. Reels always rode great, never loosened a bit. I did bigger reels as heavy as 20,000 each but those were taller and went on a lowboy. Fun stuff, never a dull moment.
YOU NEED a FOX and HOUND electrical circuit tracer. The Transmitter is applied to a circuit anywhere and the Recievers can follow the applied signal along the wire to a short or and open. Amazon sells the automotive one I have for trucks and buses. The other one is for telephone and house circuits.
Hello Dan how are you I watch your channel just to let you know been a trucker for 38 years work for the same company but I had a side business I owned 2001 379 Peterbilt with an 18 speed 271 inch wheelbase didn’t pull a flatbed pull the reefer but I had an N14 in it kicked all the way up to 500 hp it was a good tractor then then the recession hit got rid of the trailer cut the tractor up and turned it into a super 10 dump truck all the while hiring drivers drive for me while I kept my job now I have a 18-year-old son who wants to become a trucker trying to talk him out of it but he won’t listen in the meantime had to get rid of the truck when your recession hit as for myself I’m done driving 68 years old now time to enjoy life keep it between the lines stay safe I look forward to your next video
Again, you are a great example of a truck driver. Due to the fact that you can troubleshoot issues with the truck. Most driver's would just bring it to a mechanic and get screwed.great music also! Hi Bailey 😁.
Dan, I had a spring break on my long hood as well. What I found was the hood pin bushings where blown out. Along with the bushings that the hood mounts to on the hood j hooks. Once i replaced all those bushings the hood no longer vibrates going down the road and now has put less stress on the hood springs. I bought the pins and bushings from amazon. It was cheaper than buying them from dealer. Plus they are the neoprene style. Not just the cheap rubber ones from factory. Also you dont need to remove the entire hood to replace them either. All I did was open hood supported the top nose with boards. Just in case. But did one side at a time. Took a couple of hours as the 2 bolts on the j hook had rusted together. So to prevent that again I used grade 10 bolts along with coating the bolts in a good layer of antiseize.
This is a great channel Dan, loved it when Bailey was doing the hind leg stand, begging for some of your sandwich 🥪 🙂 You and "The Flatbed Chick" are definitely my two favorite truckers to follow. Congrats on a rapidly growing channel 👌👍
Hello Dan and Bailey good to hear from you hope you two cope well and hang in there with these high fuel prices please keep the videos rolling and you and Bailey have a safe trip.
Hi Dan. I was also amazed at the low volume of traffic on 80 and 294 near Chicago. I understand that’s usually packed. Some days you luck out! Stay safe.
If Unwas able to get back into the industry I would try to get a truck like yours to run across the country. Nothing like a home away from home to be comfortable while working.
Maybe you’ve covered it on other videos but is there a reason to stop at “Mercer Town”? Driver amenities or just a convenient place to stop? Maybe a video tour of the facility if they’d allow it?
I enjoy your videos on here as it’s interesting to see how it’s done on the other side of the pond , I’m an owner driver in the UK 🇬🇧 of 35 years who will be semi retiring in a couple of weeks . Fuel prices are going up over here and I’m currently paying £1.23.62 per litre ! So it’s effecting us all .
Glad to see you are doing good Dan. Did you get to see any of the people's convoy, I miss being a driver, it's still in my blood and will never go away, ok Dan God Bless you TAKE care. 🤠🇺🇲
Thanks Dan, we enjoy your videos. We liked the travel/driving footage today, we're not doing any traveling in commiefornia with $5/gallon gas prices! BE SAFE
As you were driving away after unloading the cables it looked like a guy was trying to get your attention at 11:21. He takes his arm and looks like he goes rats, missed him.
Hi Dan ,Fuel prices are certainly on the up & up like every thing else in the world at the moment lets hope it dosen't last forever "aye" keep your self safe Dan cheers mate "RB" "downunder"
Nice short one tonight Dan. When are you going to let Baily take the wheel? Stay safe. Supposed to be warm heading down to FLA. Calling for rain on Monday. If you can avoid going through GA the GSP/DOT are supposed be out in force through next week.
What is done with the wood planks you had after the coils? Are they just tossed or recycled? I imagine each company is different, but they looked fine to use again.
I use to do IT work for a company that transported bulk chemicals by truck. At that time, the drivers maintained manual logs of their daily time. I know there were federal limits on the time they could work per day. Are you under any regulation like that? Stay safe!
Hey Dan, I was coming back from Florida this weekend I think I say your truck next to the i-95 somewhere around North Carolina or Virginia but not sure. Any chance it was you!
Great day and another great video. To Dan and all other truckers following. At the risk of shutting down the internet, starlink and others, I have a very good job offer that includes no touch freight, decent pay and benefits, great kenworth equipment. But MX13 /paccar powertrain with automatic. (I've never driven auto) Usually pushing the 75 to 80k , are they as gutless as some say? Thanks guys and gals.
did you knw that the "new" freeway thru Chicago {I-80 E & W) is now, or right after it was renovated, is obsolete. 8 lanes is still not enough and i dont know if they can widen it anymore. anyway, thats what i was told right after they finished the road construction and open both lanes. it was cool for a while. just glad i was smart enough not to go thru there during morning and evening rush hour.
"Can't find it, grind it. it'll work eventually" -- old quote from my driving a manual transmission days.
Dan and Schmidt, 2 excellent drivers, 2 completely different shifters lol
Yep. Most definitely.
Must be great indeed to have most of your home comfort in your truck. No need to search for a tuck stop. Thanks again for sharing your day to day life. You look so at peace with you, enjoying the little moments. It is refreshing to watch 😀
Dan is a driver , not a poster cowboy!
Congratulations, Dan! 50k Subscribers!
Give that puppy dog some love. It's obvious he craves it.
Those Timbers would make good fire wood for you in AZ.
Congratulations 👍 Dan on Reaching 50,000+ UA-cam Subscribers. A Huge Accomplishment. YEA! 👍

I sure do like that Dorsey Trailer you're pulling. 👍
If you can't find, it grind it!
Evening Dan. Give Bailey a belly rub and stay safe.
Newsflash: Bailey never agreed to settle for just part of that sandwich🗽🇺🇸🍶🚛💯

I saw you and Bailey southbound on 75 coming out of the rest area south of the Georgia state line. Looking good.
I was wondering about that hood spring thing. It looks like your hood is doing things all by itself. LOL

Morning. Give the old coil racks to a newer driver. Just my suggestions
Hello TruckerDan ,i am from Sweden, and i can till you at fuel prices is 9,24 is dollar/gallon
What is done with the wood planks you had after the coils? Are they just tossed or recycled? I imagine each company is different, but they looked fine to use again.

How does that go Dan? What's the use of a box full of teeth if you don't clean them now & then?
