- After watching @AuditingBritain video on Friday at Bournville Police Station I thought I'd pay a visit after the 1 roid looking cop got aggressive with AB. So I wanted to make a complaint.
While There I Audited the station myself and was questioned By The West Midlands police drone unit.

Schedule 9 is only useful if they see the drone, if they see the camera, if thet see your controller screen or you tell them it's filming, if they can't do any of that then they have no grounds to take the operator ID down. They need reasonable suspicion that it actually needs one. Not all drones under 250g have cameras there for no need for operator ID

It's not the poxy training course that puts them above thickos like you. It's the fact they have been sworn in by a magistrate to the office of constable that gives them powers that you don't have, and you don't like it.

That guy in glasses clearly displayed an inferiority complex, was quick to lower himself and looked petrified. Why are police too scare to identify and lacking in self confidence. Good to see BBA put him straight in his place.

A police officer is a PUBLIC SERVANT and should remember that we employ them ,they serve the public not the other way round

A couple of points. One, that is irrelevant to this video. And two, they're not public servants. They are crown servants at best. They may provide a public service, but a public servant they are not. Providing a service and being a servant are completely different things. Nowhere in the oath or principles or ethics does it mention the police being public servants. Get over yourself.

The interaction was all going so good until they asked for details 🤦 they just cant help themselves!! That plod closer to ya had his bodycam on so they probably caught your info on that. When will they learn that they are not always entitled to peoples information. 🙄

They don't need to see his Fyler ID because it is sub 250g. He doesn't need one. He does however need an operator ID.
They do not need to suspect an offence for this. Only that they suspect it is a drone that needs to be registered. One technicality though - they asked before the flight. But commonsense says you might as well give it to them when they ask, because they'll just have to stick around until you've finished or ask you while you're flying.

That police officer had a point at desk.
If I had gone in there, for example, to report a partner for abuse and you clocked me going in or out. That partner might see the video with me at the station.

Its law that a drone with a camera has a operator ID, of police have grounds to believe it needs an operator ID then they can make you provide the information if they wanted to, if you haven't got a operator ID then you would be breaking the law, so how would police know that, unless they have reasonable grounds to believe it needs one so they can then check it.. If they were not allowed to take the operator ID down then the entire process of having and needing one is next to useless as you could put any numbers and just say "here it is" when infact it's not.
