Day 2 was the hardest for me! The difficulty was not the climbing but the weather, it defeated me! Too hot!
While cycling, I always thought why did I choose this challenge, this will be the last time.
But watching these videos again makes me want to do other challenges!
I'm so weird! Is there anyone like me????😂😂😂
OK, I was about to say that there's no way this is you're last bike packing tour! People forget but, besides the physical capacity, mental fortitude will be the driving force in these types of rides. Nice to see you guys persever!
I've being following you guys since you were in Japan. I am Vietnamese American and I served in the Marine Corps. I was interested in learning Japanese since 1985 when I stationed in Okinawa ,but my Japanese is not very good. What caught my attention then was you guys communicate in Japanese, but Thuong is Vietnamese. Now she is trilingual . Very impressive! Hope one day I can be proficient in Japanese so that I can visit Japan again.
Thanks for watching! Good luck with your Japanese studies. Lots of Vietnamese people can speak Japanese now since many go there to work
@@TwoWheelCruise Cruise, doesn't Thuong also offer some online Japanese language tutorials? At least I think she used to do that.
What a way to unwind after a long and brutal day of climbing in that intense heat and rain. I think Thuong's testimonial at the end said it all. Not for the faint of heart, and an impressive endeavour to keep pushing through your tour! Hats off to you both!
Thanks! Definitely a tough day
That's intense conditions to ride under. That sun is no joke. Glad you get a rest day in there.
"I WILL DIE" haha we love you so much Thuong you are a great cyclist and climber and we all think a racer also if you gave your self to more races you can win...keep safe to you both from us all LET'S GO.
Day 2 is great with another big fun ride in Vietnam!! Appreciate from both you guys again!! 😎😎😎
16:35 That's the least enthusiastic lets go I heard from her 🤣
😂 probably
Vietnam is very beautiful especially the mountain areas.
The kid obviously said “let’s go!” - he’s a big fan of the channel!
👍 😁
Bike packing is really hot also in Philippines specially in hilly climbs. Stay hydrated, refuel, and quick rest help me to reduce my body temperature. Sun screen is really a big help. Hint: Bike packing is a journey not a destination. So Don’t rush. Enjoy the views with memorable memories.
Carbonated sport drinks that's insane
Yeah 😂
Don't know much about bikes, but always loved the videos. Take care of yourself and sister Thuong. Here's a glass of coconut water (maybe?)
Thank you!
Wow more gruelling than day one, good to see that you will be taking a rest 😴
Yeah, started the first 2 days with a bang 😅 Thankfully the next few days were easier
Wow, a difficult ride. I can't even inagine a ride of that difficult, distance and temperature. 😮
It really was 😂
Tough day, but you made it. 'Let's go!'
Beautiful landscapes. Hard climb up 👍
You two are made of tough stuff. I go out early to make it back home before the feels-like temperature goes over 30C. Stay strong, be generous with SPF50, and keep the entertaining videos coming.
Thanks! This time of year the real feel almost never gets below 30C even after sunset😢
Your backpacking ride was so exciting.Keep on going, cheers guys!
I was really happy to see you both wear neck gaiters to get some UV protection. It really reduces the exposure on your neck, scalp, and ears. Sunscreen just seems to sweat off so easily when you’re working hard in the sun.
Yeah, they work very well
Nice video, can't wait for the next one. Stay cool and stay safe out there.
what you should always remember when you do long ride on out town route, pay attention when in climbing never ride behind any big truck or full loaded pickup some time it can roll over back because the driver lose the engine power they cannot stop it either by brake it will roll over to the back, sometime people got caught by surprise make sure if you pass by full loaded truck or pick up let them pass you and never ride to close with that vehicle.
and when you descend make sure you never over run it just in case your disc brake to hot it can snap. max 10k descent then take a time to colling the disc brake. let it cool a bit.
Finally, the DAY 2 video arrived, and it was worth the wait! I can't even imagine what it's like to ride in that sort of heat. Hopefully you both enjoyed your rest day in your nice hotel, and I look forward to watching DAY 3!
4 more videos coming up from this series 😉
It was indeed very well done u tub and trip enjoyed !I just Bragg about em thuong 5 stars for the two wheel cruise crew!
Thanks Paul!
Good to see you guys touring again!
It felt great to be touring again 😁
The music made a nice change.along with the narrating. I'm sure you both will enjoy many rides together have a great week
Thanks!
Thanks guys for a very scenic ride. Just awesome. Reminded me of my tour of Thailand 20 years ago. in December with temperatures in the 20s. Not sure about rain jackets above 30C with the heat buildup and perspiring. Loved it.
Yeah, we quickly took those rain jackets off 😂
Thanks! Well by the reaction’s i’d say Thoung has had it, and it’ll be guided tours, catering services and 5 star accommodations the rest of the way 😂 👍 ✌️
Thank you! I knew today would be tough which is why we choose this nicer hotel and rest day tomorrow 😂 the nice thing though is each other day felt easier by comparison
Very enjoyable video. Love seeing the country side.
You guy consume a lot of Sugar & Carbs. That meal was like 90% Carbs + Sugar drinks. 😮
That Dinner looked really good (skipping the rice). 😂👍🏼
That's our gasoline
Sometimes you guys are too funny! Loved Thuong’s comment, “I will die.” And then yours, “Well, we’ll see.” Didn’t expect either one of those comments. Cracked me up especially coming from your wife who’s such a strong cyclist. That’s the kinda thing I’d probably say but I’m not nearly as capable as either one of you. Glad your bikes and gear are holding up fine. Looks like fun!
She says some funny stuff sometimes 😂 today definitely was a hard day
47c is absolutely insane
Epic ride, well worth the effort. ! will become a precious memory to keep from your stay in Vietnam.
By the way, I have tried out your idea of wearing a face bandana to stop my cheeks from turning crimson in the burning sun and it works really well, thanks !
Sunscreen is not enough when you are goosey white !!
Yeah, I'm really glad we did this trip 😀 And glad that helped, the face coverings really help a lot when the sun is too strong
That was a lovely route but brutal heat followed by rain.
I think that may be the first time ive seen Thuong leave food and say that she was full.
haha true 😂
Absolutely gorgeous video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a great ride! It was brutal steep in places, but the scenery was gorgeous.
Did you enjoy the hammock break, or did it make it harder to get going again after lunch?
I love that cabin where you slept, and Thuong is a real keeper, getting you a high-protein meal before bed.
My wife is from Da Nang, and we plan to get her an e-bike when we retire there in a few years.
I hope we can do rides like this together.
Thanks! The break may have been too long making it harder to start again. Hope you guys enjoy Da Nang!
I used to live in North Carolina and when the "Real Feel" Temp was 103 degrees Fahrenheit or over, I didn't ride. Too hot!
That's why we normally ride at sunset
good it rained...i was worried for the heat stroke...ouch
Yeah, we were pretty glad it rained actually
@@TwoWheelCruise very pretty area...
…116 degrees Fahrenheit! That’s way too hot.
First. LOL
I rode my 3 speed CCM 100 miles again on Wednesday.
Big day!
Vamanos!!!> Let's go!!!
🚴🇻🇳
5:35 neck gaiter
have you thought of doing a series of American fondo's. Van life , cycling and camera.
Would be cool to travel and see other parts of the US like that
I hope one day you bike journey to Indianapolis! Not too far from Michigan hah
I've raced there so many times 😅
music kinda sounded like Slack key guitar...
It sounds real nice!
How do you like that "absolute black chain ring?"
It's been good for Thuong, especially with the bigger climbs.
@@TwoWheelCruise I also have the Absolute Black "hollow cage."
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of the last (or maybe even the last) years in which a trip like this will be possible. The climate is heating faster than ever and with more heat comes more evaporation, which means more humidity. And there is increasingly extreme heat even at high elevations. So it may be physically impossible soon. So dangerous to the point where the government will have to step in and ban strenuous outdoor activity on certain days.
I don't think many people tour here in the Summer anyways. Thankfully Michigan weather will be a lot cooler, though they are getting less snow in the winters apparently
😄😄😆😆😅😅🤣🤣😂😂🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
