  • Since my traps have had many additions over the years and we have many new subscribers (Thank You) I wanted to make a new video going over all my swarm trap features
Some are more important then others but I feel all are useful and there for a reason
I have used Swarm Commander since my first year catching and I feel it is the best product available but not the only way to attract scouts and Swarms #swarmcommander
I have never purchased bees. I catch Honeybee Swarms in Grand Rapids and with these techniques you to can catch bees anywhere honeybees are present
Please subscribe for frequent updates and message me anytime if you need more help then what my channel provides. Let’s save you some money catching free Honeybees year after year
Wanted to extend the discounted savings my local customers get to the rest of you in the 48. Here is a limited number of my Hive Alive products cheaper than Amazon. Available today while supplies last
Thank you to everyone who has supported me. It was a great year for swarm catching and a difficult one. If you are new please do not give up. My first year I caught nothing. So frustrated I sat the next year out. The following year I caught 3 so please do not give up trying to catch #freebees

The bees bringing pollen back to the trap is a great indicator of a laying queen..

Thanks for the clarification on scenting. I've been putting some inside as well, but will stop.

Nice idea on adding a different entrance, think I'll try it.

Thank you. Built them last year. This will be our first full season with them and we are very excited to spring to arrive
Cedar wood from Menards. They had the best quality lumber and prices when I was shopping for Cedar

Great points, nice trap design, I used this particular design for years.....until I got tired of carrying all that weight for a particular distance, so this year I came up with a different design, a lot lighter, easier to handle, hope it will do the job like the old version traps, I got a lot of swarms over the years...some from my own bee yards, but quite a few swarms that came from who knows where.
I also live in Michigan, I run be beeyards in Goodland/Imlay City/Yale area but I live in Troy.
Best of luck to you this season.

Lighter weight with the same basic design and I see no reason why you won’t be just as successful
I utilize construction scrap and have even more from a roofing job but man are they heavy when OSB. Price is right though
Love to hear from people swarm catching in Michigan
Not much longer and our season will be here
      Thank you for the comment
      Best of luck

I like the added ventilation. I have one louvered/screened vent but like the idea of more. I actually screw down the lid and that works for me. It is easy and makes sure they don’t let bees out in transport. How many locations are you trapping?
    Oakland county, mi

6 locations this year. Third year with same six locations.
      Traps going up next week
All locations have caught in the past two seasons. Not every location has caught each year. Caught 6 last year
Only one trap is within reach of of my bees so I am not catching my own bees but I keep a trap in the yard as an insurance policy
Thank you for the comment and question
