Sarah is one of the most delightful and impactful discoveries I have made in music. Intriguing, subtle, precise, creative and likely one or two other qualities that make her one of my favorite female voices out there today.
Whoa... this is really REALLY good. People need to appreciate how much polish and precision they are playing this set with. No theatrics. They are focused on perfect balance, perfect harmonies, hitting all the breaks dead-on. It's like they are playing it in a recording studio - that level of perfection. I'm impressed by how varied this album is compared to her others. She has a really deep band here - strings, horns, at least 4 people doing backup vocals.
Spectacular performance at Ottawa's City Folk last night! She played all of my favourites plus a few songs I hadn't heard before. The crowd kept calling for Loadstar and she indulged us by finishing her set with it. So glad I finally got to see her perform live.
Beautiful. Been a fan since “You Were Here” (2000) and looking forward to listening to your new album. And what a great location to play! Cheers from New Zealand.
This brings back some great memories. I have been loving Sarah's voice and songwriting skills since the mid-90s when she was still with Weeping Tile. I never had the pleasure of seeing them perform live, but in 2001 I was lucky enough to catch her and Carolyn Mark at a packed McPherson Playhouse in Victoria. An evening I will never forget. Thanks CBC, for having her do this. She is a genuine Canadian gem. ❤
Saw Brad Wheeler's comments in the Globe and Mail about how good this new album by Sarah is! Been listening to the CD in my car! Love them all!! Thank you!
Good lord, just heard her on Boston's WERS (New Low) and am totally smitten. This is really great stuff. Watching this it becomes clear that she is surrounded by other stellar musicians.
This was wonderful. I love the new album and it really does remind me of You Were Here and my time living in Kingston 20 years ago (gasp). Also what a terrific performance of Lodestar. That song always gives me chills. Great stuff!!
Welcome back with a great, new album. And a look back with my going up north spiritual, Lodestar. Looking forward to hearing this again in Orillia. Beautiful work Sarah.
Her catalogue IS ‘GREAT’ ! So so Great even conceals the true greatness of her performance level too ‘ watched outdoor show of Awe lil fire. I was blown back at the force of that performance of that Album
Such an amazing artist. This is an incredible set. As a Kingston boy, i remember first seeing her several times with Weeping Tile, and that was it, I was in for the long haul. Never disappoints. 🙏🏻
I was lucky enough to experience this show live and in person and it was just magical. So dissapointed they cut out all of the banter between songs. So many intimate moments lost to my terrible memory
@@cbcmusic it would have been nice to at least include her introducing the band, if she happened to do so. I am wondering who was playing with her, but you didn't even credit them in the details above :(
Truly a remarkable album ending lasting I think this album is now riding 3 years, it truly is a beautiful, one of her best. However all get albums are her best I look forward to the next album even if its another many years.
This is so lovely, one of my biggest disappointments of 2020 is easily having her shows cancelled as we were so excited about seeing her again for the first time in ages.
Yup .. Sarah is great. .. don’t know her a lot yet .. but reminds me of Blue Rodeo , Katherine Edwards , and Amanda Marshall .... who’ve I’ve seen .. another fine Canadian genius and musician.... thanks Sarah .... good health ..
Love ❤️ her prose and melodies. Parfait! Like a perfect flowing stream down through the Canadian soul.

So talented. As a songwriter your craft and wordplay and emotional impact is stunning, and then there's that voice. Beautiful.

One of the greats.......
Been an ardent fan since the beginning. The new album is fabulous, as usual.
Her changes give me chills. So glad I found this.
Just great
Drummer is amazing, she has a sense of "less is more", very excellent and appropriate drumming in my view.
Good lord, just heard her on Boston's WERS (New Low) and am totally smitten. This is really great stuff. Watching this it becomes clear that she is surrounded by other stellar musicians.

Thanks to Kathleen Edwards for introducing me to Sarah Harmer. Beautiful voice!
They do good work, those two!
The guitar player looks like the one who plays with Kathleen,is he the same?
I just got introduced to you by DeeAnn. I love your songs and your voice and everything about you. 🥂❤️
Hello how are you
We were going to see her in Calgary but it got postponed 😭 Love you Sarah!!

A shame, indeed! We opted for brevity over depth for the edit - more rock less talk. I hope the performance manages to evoke some memories for you.

This is really beautiful music to the core. Please let Mrs. Harmer tour Europe, Germany, Berlin, with her music some time ... (relatively) soon ...
Truly a remarkable album ending lasting I think this album is now riding 3 years, it truly is a beautiful, one of her best. However all get albums are her best I look forward to the next album even if its another many years.
That version of Lodestar is sublime...
Can't wait! I'm only 2 songs in, so far 😄
Wonderful song! Your awesome!
This is so lovely, one of my biggest disappointments of 2020 is easily having her shows cancelled as we were so excited about seeing her again for the first time in ages.
Yes, she is great on stage.

This just popped up and made my day......see you Two Days in May.

Only One Sarah Harmer
Wow so great !
That back drop ... wow .. I want to be there ..
It's just outside Toronto. Not too far from Canada's Wonderland, actually.
Sarah, Neko and Kathleen must have a club for good redheads musicians ❤️
Same vibe and talented all of these three womans!!!
You just get better and better Sarah. Enjoyed watching the whole show with Janeson. It was "close your eyes" amazing! (but of course, we didn't :))
New low, awesome song, love it.
What a treasure. Thank you.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! This was an amazing set to get me through the Monday afternoon bleh!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Love it!
Nobody says it like Sarah; what it's like to leave someone that you still care for.
What did she say?
Amazing!!! I absolutely love this album (and this song!)
more proof of her amazingness; she said saxa-ma-phone.
Great sounding album
a name to remember. Wonderful music ...
Nice to see Gord Tough on guitar
She \theyre The Best in country and on
rocking so hard ahead of theyre time and day since early early 90s
Yup .. Sarah is great. .. don’t know her a lot yet .. but reminds me of Blue Rodeo , Katherine Edwards , and Amanda Marshall .... who’ve I’ve seen .. another fine Canadian genius and musician.... thanks Sarah .... good health ..
Her back catalogue runs deep, so there's plenty to discover.
Seriously don't understand why this album didn't make any top 10 lists (that I saw, anyway).
Why on earth does this not have more likes? Compared to the garbage on the radio these days, this is fantastic. Rock on saddle tramps...
Oh my god. This is a sublime canadian break up song. Sorry St. Peter’s bay
Sarah no harm her !
Who is in her band?
I could be wrong, but Gord Tough on guitar, Zach Bines on bass, Kelly McMichael on piano and Dani Nash on drums.
Bunny Stewart on sax and Benji Perosin on trumpet from Kingston on that gig
Try to stay friends with Kath or do something with the S Sleen. Small world World worries from NZ.
That opening song wa excellent. Do you remember the Weeping Tile rehearsals in the house that smelled like cat pee? I was Cam's roomate.
No you are not my dear friend Sarah but you can stay
