I went to give blood at a local town hall in cornwall and happened to be wearing a sabbath t shirt. The nurse commented on it saying "I love Black Sabbath, Tony Martin is my ex"... small world.
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
He might have had many.
Ur safe 😊
One night in a trailer doesn't make her his "ex"
@emersonribeiro315 why's that so hard for you to believe? Musicians are just people too. They live in places, have relationships, just like everyone else. Coincidences happen. Get used to it.
Headless Cross is so underrated. One of Black Sabbath's greatest albums.
Love that pfp. Hail Elric 🤘
Easy now
My three fave Sabbath albums with Tony Martin are "The Eternal Idol", "Headless Cross" and "Tyr".
That's twice in two days where I've read an "underrated" comment where it isn't just because Grandpa forgot something exists. Steady on, UA-cam, you might get useful!
Think I might have to get this album out again great track and album
Never make the mistake of sleeping on the Tony Martin era of Sabbath. You'll be missing out on some high quality music.
As the weirdo who's favorite Sabbath album is Eternal Idol I couldn't agree more.
DEVIL AND DAUUUGHTEEERRRRR
@@Paappa624You like what you like fella. Pretty weird though 😂
@@Paappa624 I get you man, mine is Born Again. I think it's the most evil-sounding they ever got.
@@ferrreira Can't disagree, I am pretty sure that Ian was actually possessed in Disturbing The Priest, best one on this album.
This video: 50% drummer, 30% Tony Martin's shoulder pads, 20% Iommi guitar solo, 0% bass player.
My favorite era of Sabbath! So underrated and overlooked.
Best Black Sabbath song ever!
It is criminal how underrated this era of Black Sabbath was. The two Tony’s released some of the greatest albums of the 80’s.
what are the album names? I just heard this song for the first time and I'm hooked
@@retrolosopher2405Headless Cross ,Tyr ,Cross Purposes and Forbidden Anno Domini box set Black Sabbath 1989- 1995 Rhino Records CD and vinyl available May 31st
@@richardhincemon Three of those are great albums. Forbidden is the only bad record Black Sabbath ever released.
The albums are The Headless cross, Eternal Idol, TYR,Cross purposes and Forbidden. The first three are the best and The Eternal Idol special edition comes with an extra disc of the short lived Ray Gilles version.@@retrolosopher2405
He's their worst vocalist. It's kind of funny
Cozy with Tony is magic.
Finally, the recognition that this master piece deserved after so many years. Long live Black Sabbath and Tony Martin's Era.
Oh shit. How did this video go up without Sharon having a stroke
Sharon has nothing to do with it.
@@JoeSiegler that’s not really true at all. Pretty sure she has legal rights to the name Black Sabbath and that’s why most of their discography sans ozzy is hard to find. Or at least was. It’s actually why when tony, bill, and geezer reunited with dio that they had to use the moniker “heaven and hell.”
@@theAshesofDecember1 That is absolutely true. That's *NOT* why they called themselves that. Don't believe everything you read.
The day Sharon bites it will be a national holiday… everywhere
The Eternal Idol was reissued a couple of years ago. The Tony Martin albums apart from that one are being reissued in a boxset at the end of May 2024 so the rest of the discography will be easy to find and purchase. The Dio albums were never difficult to find, and I also bought Born Again and Seventh Star very easily. The issue with these Tony Martin albums were the record labels they came out on, particularly IRS for Headless Cross, Tyr, Forbidden and Cross Purposes. It went bust in 1996.
That was the issue with the rights to these albums, nothing to do with Sharon Osbourne. She doesn't own the rights to the Black Sabbath name.
If she did own the name, Black Sabbath would have continued with Ozzy fronting it and any backing musicians they wanted. It would not have continued with Iommi.
This is actually one of my favourite Sabbath songs of all! The whole album is good too.
I'm excited for the Tony Martin Black Sabbath box set! Tony Martin will finally deserve the recognition he deserves with a full digital release.
Tony Martin such a great singer his ability to put listener on a ride of emotion
It's so good to finally see this era being revisited!
I really hope the albums will be remastered and end up on spotify sometime. I think I heard about it years ago but nothing happend, until now!
@@_creepingdeath they actually announced yesterday that a box set of the albums remastered will be releasing May 31st!
Yeah at long last!

Glad the Martin era is finally getting some love, it’s sooooo underrated

It's curious that Tony Martin auditioned for Candlemass and recorded a demo with them (Witches) and then Tony Iommi played the solo in the Candlemass song Astorolus.

One of the many legendary Sabbath lineups, this is a true classic
Criminally underrated
Gotta love the fact that "Headless Cross" is a real place and location in the UK. Some history/local lore associated with it, which inspired the lyrics in this song.
Didn't know that. Thanks!!
The Tony Martin era it's so amazing.
Very underrated. Tony Martin sounds great and Iommi shreds. Who doesnt want MORE Sabbath?!
Probably the most anticipated album remaster ever.
we need a reunion tour desperately! if you cant use the Black Sabbath name, you could go by 'Headless Cross'!
Tony Iommi is 76 years old in remission from cancer and retired from touring Dec 4th 2017
And Cozy is well…dead…Neil Murry might be the only one from this time who may beable to play on a tour…but cozy was so important to this era too
Geoff Nicholls keyboards rip 🙏 🪦
sure tony isn't young and recovering from cancer, but how many times has ozzy 'ended touring' and continued. though i really think ozzy should stop now!
🤘Forbidden Sabbath 🤘
Tony Martin era is ABSOLUTE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of the best songs of the legendary band!I was 15 years old when Headless Cross was released...now i am 50 years old!Still listening to this masterpiece!
Finally. My favorite era of Black Sabbath.
Yeah, it was a continuation of the direction that started with Dio, but in a different way with more atmospheric stuff and story-driven lyrics. Definitely some of the more awesome albums by them.
When the Tony Martin box set is finally released, I'll get it the same day !
Yeah te same feeling
Mine too.
Early 70s is the best. But this era is a close second. Dio is third place. Imho
The Book of Sabbath has many chapters and the cat era deserves some recognition. And the Headless Cross with songs like When death calls is a dam fine album. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I miss Cozy Powell’s drumming. 🤘😍 R.I.P. Cozy.
A true genius
My fav after Neil Peart
Tony Iommi is the King
Headless Cross and Devil and Daughter is pure perfection!
The most underrated album in Black Sabbath's entire discography. In terms of power metal and melody, it reminds me a bit of "Haven and Hell", although the horror atmosphere is more noticeable.
Finally the music video in perfect quality and in the album key tone, Im so glad the Tony Martin era is getting some love nowadays, he was criminally ignore for decades. The Headless Cross is one of Sabbath's finest albums without a doubt.
The heaviest sound ever made in music! My favourite album, and the unforgetable "Black Moon" from it!.
We need a new album with Tony Martin again!
That’s actually what sparked this current resurgence of the Tony Martin content: the fact that they _can’t_ do a new album. At least under the Sabbath name.
According to Tony Martin, he and Tony Iommi actually did discuss the possibility of recording some new songs and rereleasing the original Martin albums, similar to what they had done with Dio. However, as it turns out, there’s apparently an agreement that any *new* music created under the Sabbath name can only include the original 4 members. They can, however, rerelease any Sabbath music with any lineup, which is why we’re getting a Tony Martin box set at the end of May.
be cool if they did something under a new name though who knows if Iommi has the energy@@capnkaba
They could always do what they did with Dio and create a “new” band.
@@mikemike3886 Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler have retired from touring without touring to promote a new band no real money could be made. Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osborne are fifty fifty owners of the name Black Sabbath it takes 3 original members to participate in the band to be called Black Sabbath.
@@richardhincemon Geezer made the name and gets nothing. You gotta love Sharon Osbourn
So much awesome music from this era finally getting the attention it deserves! Cozy Powel was such a beast behind the drum kit. Thanks Sir Tony Iommi, you Rock! 🖤🤘🖤
I have waited a long time for this, but better late than never, right? Tony Martin deserves more recognition for his work w/ BS!
Thanks, Tony for decades of epic music. Seriously.
I'm so glad that the Martin-era of
Sabbath is getting the recognition it always deserves. Some of the greatest material you ever recorded was during that period, Tony!
RIP Cozy Powell
My favourite Black Sabbath era. All of the Tony Martin fronted Black Sabbath albums are fantastic.
& i just finished watching a documentary about Cozy Powell RIP. Born Again & Headless Cross are two of my favorite Black Sabbath albums. Thank you.
Believe it or not this is my favorite album along with Heaven and Hell. I love this kind of production and performing of the late 80s early 90s.
Love this album, Tony Martin's vocals were oustanding!
That drum intro is living rent free in my head, so iconic!
That riff as well no doubt.
@@cuttlefisch Hell yes!

I ain't no Sabbath expert, but this sounds great. And the drummer? Cozy was a beast!
You should be they’re a great band! 😊
Headless Cross, Eternal Idol, Tyr. All of them, masterpieces, even Cross Purposes had its moments... The Tony Martin era was amazingly underrated.
I wore Tyr out! Rare to talk to anyone that even knows that record exists. Way way underrated!
totally agreed. but Tony can't do live.
Cross Purposes had some stingers of songs.. that riff during The Hand That Rocks The Cradle is pure metal goodness.
Worst era of sabbath , should have changed the name to Not Black Sabbath 😂 thats why it's not highly rated... its not black sabbath its just not....🤣
Tony Martin is a beautiful man and his original voice carries her I love him, he deserves more support to this man 👑💀🙆♂️❤️🌹
Headless Cross, Tyr, and Eternal Idol are all bangers!!!
Cross Purposes and, yes, even Forbidden are underrated too. Can't wait to hear the remix of the latter.

Tony Iommi, high priest of the cult of riff

Such a nice and cool detail in the video that shows a great artist!! Tony Martin finally receiving some recognition!
TM's theatrical mannerisms are on full display in this vid. Guy was a great addition to the band and brought in something new & fresh.
An excellent frontman overall.
Finally the reissues of these masterpieces got released!!!
I hope that The Eternal Idol, Born Again and especially Seventh Star will be reissued and rediscovered by Black Sabbath fans.
All of these three albums (Born Again, Seventh Star and Eternal Idol) are available - and they were released in digipack packages in recent years (these releases included live recordings as bonus or Eternal Idol early takes by Ray Gillen). However in case of Born Again, I suppose there might be new re-relase as master tapes were finally discovered and major remix should be done for new release.
Yeah, but i would love vinyl reissues of that albums.
@petrcejka2125 You're kidding, they found the masters?! I hope they don't try to stick too close to the original Spin̈al Tap-era mudpie mix. I'm used to it by now, but it really deserves a reworking.
When Sabbath finally had a great singer after Dio. Kudos for Tony. I saw them at this tour. Was a great gig
I would love to hear you collaborate with Tony Martin again. Cross Purposes is my favorite sabbath album and I would love another Iommi ‘Fused’ like you did with Glenn.
It's great to see that in good quality again. My father used to sit at the music channels to record this on a video cassette. I love this song ,childhood chills !
Tony Martin here looking like Alan Rickman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 🖤
Glad that this era of Black Sabbath can be finally released on streaming services
Tony martin is a legend
Thank you!!! Thanks for doing justice to Tony Martin, Cozy Powell and Neil Murray.
Actually, the bassist who appears in the video is Laurence Cottle, Section Bassist for this album and one of the best. Neil Murray would just appear for the tour and the following album Tyr.
I was 18 years old when I first heard this song back in 1989...it's one of my favorites
Probably the best singer ever. Def my top 5!!!
Hopefully we'll be seeing more Martin era videos in glorious HD such as The Shining, Feels Good to Me and The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. God I love the Martin era, Headless Cross is my fav Black Sabbath album of all time.

This is truly an underappreciated part of the Sabbath discography. Big shoutout to Lawrence Cottle on the bass. He may not have looked the part, but damn, did he deliver on the Sabbath bass vibe. I appreciate that he's a part of this video!

Not only do I love this song, but I love this album, still among my favourite listens 🤘✝🤘
I hate to admit this but I have a HUGE void in my collection. I didn't grow up listening to Black Sabbath. I only heard it if friends played it and it was only the Ozzy stuff. I definitely like that more than his solo stuff. Then I finally heard the "Heaven and Hell" album and was BLOWN AWAY! Then I found out that there were other singers and when I checked some of those songs out was even MORE blown away. I hate that I didn't get to enjoy these growing up but I at least get to enjoy these for the first time.
It's amazing that we finally have this video in HD. Thank you so much, Mr. Iommi!
Iommi = Sabbath.
1995. I was 6. A co worker of my dad gave us an old hifi and a bunch of cassettes. Among them: Headless Cross. That's the day I discover Black Sabbath, what heavy metal was, and that's also the day I entered in the metal family, and never left since ^^
Thanks for the memories Mr.Iommi.
Can you remember what else you came across from that bunch of cassettes? I'm curious to know.
One of my most anticipated releases ever! Once again, my neighbors are going to complain that I'm "too loud." Well, it's meant to be played loud, right?
Call me crazy, but The Eternal Idol is my favorite Sabbath album, love Tony Martin, would love a "Headless Cross" band tour or something.
It's a fantastic album, one of their very best and its Tony Martin's interpretation of Ray Gillens melodies that really elevate it.
@@nicksmith8557 Martin definetly brings a lot to the album, but I would say what really elevates it is Bob Daisley's songwriting and bass playing.
