Looks like a long nose Gar, not an alligator gar, still tastes the same. Contrary to what people say…delicious. Do you eat them?

I do, just the back straps and yes it was a longnose gar.

I fished for them in texas using an 8-inch piece of 1/4 in nylon cord unraveled and combed out attached to a steel leader when they strike their teeth would get tangled in the nylon great fun didn't much like the taste😊🤡
